Cloverleaf Radio's host The Host with the Most Jimmy Falcon welcomes Actress Briana Denski to the show! Brianna is the leading voice in Paramount's animated feature film WONDER PARK, has done commercials for Lysol and Nickelodeon, portrayed Jackie Durham in the Lifetime movie WISHIN' AND HOPIN'. been seen on the TV series MOMSTERS and has done a variety of musical theater. Brianna was born with a love for entertaining. Her favorite movies as a baby were the musical CATS and Disney's FANTASIA. Her first on stage experience was as an Angel in the Nutcracker Suite where she continued to perform for many years as a Soldier, Clown and Little Marie. Her dancing career came to an end when she was given the lead role in ANNIE, Jr. and a scheduling conflict occurred. It was a tough decision for a 9 year old girl to make, but it was what launched her into her current acting path. After performing as Annie and the role of Tammy Mara in MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, her director and school principal drove her to New York City to audition for the Broadway musical Annie. Although she did not receive a part, it opened the door to future trips into the city. She soon met her manager and was off and running to auditions with big dreams in her heart and then was diagnosed with nodules on her vocal chords. She was instructed not to sing for a year, which was very difficult for Brianna, and put her in a more solemn mood. However, she continued to go on acting auditions with her deep, husky voice. In November 2014, she auditioned for the lead in the Paramount animated feature film WONDER PARK, and because of her unique. mature, husky voice, she landed the leading role. The golden age of Irish censorship ended in 1967 when Brian Lenihan Sr introduced a time limit on certain banning orders, leading to thousands of forbidden texts becoming available. Since 1929, a wealth of modern literature and medical writing had been denied to the public by a censorship board which was not required to explain its decisions - Edna O'Brien, Brendan Behan, Aldous Huxley and many others ran afoul of its high hand. However, during this period a wealth of Irish language literature and drama was being produced which slid under the censors' radar, material which still packs a punch today to audiences who feel misled by the notoriety of Lady Chatterley and Holden Caulfield. One such work is the play "An Triail" by Máiréad Nà Ghráda, first produced in 1964 and dealing with topics like religious hypocrisy, abortion, suicide and Magdalen Laundries - all in an Ireland where Disney's Fantasia was banned. In this week's episode, Darach, Peadar and GearóidÃn discuss the impact of Nà Ghráda's great work and its relevance today. Darach remembers a less resonant text he studied for his reading, unlocking a wave of '90s memories and GearóidÃn reflects on the similarities between the schoolmaster Pádraig and the f*ckboys of 2018. This episode deals with mature themes and contains some explicit language --- Contact the show at https://twitter.com/motherfocloir or email us at motherfocloir@headstuff.org.

Inon Zur remembers his very first viewing of Disney's Fantasia as a small child. Now he's come full-circle, working on the soundtrack to Disney's new video game, 'Fantasia: Music Evolved'.
Nearly 75 years after the film debuted, Disney is bringing 'Fantasia' back in a new game called 'Fantasia: Music Evolved'. Composer Inon Zur wrote original music for the game, and oversaw the re-recordings of many classical favorites.
It's quite possible that Philip French has seen more films than anyone else on the planet. Obsessed with cinema since the age of four, he has been reviewing films for the Observer for the past fifty years, as well as writing for many other papers and publishing several critically acclaimed books about cinema. He talks to Michael Berkeley about the role of the composer in the cinema, his late flowering love of Beethoven string quartets, his lifelong delight in the singing of Ruth Etting; and his greatest film music memories. His music choices are all associated with film ? from Disney's Fantasia; through The Ride of the Valkyries used so memorably in Apocalypse Now; to Miles Davis and avant garde composer Harry Partch. Philip French sees at least nine films a week ? that's getting on for 20,000 over his career. Michael Berkeley asks him, how important is music in making a film stick in the mind? Producer: Jane Greenwood. A Loftus production for BBC Radio 3.
