Prophecy Radio episode #64 takes a look ahead at all the projects we know are coming up in 2023, as well as our goals for the year as a podcast! This week, we're skipping the news since we're recording ahead of time, and we'll catch up on that in a couple weeks. But don't worry! We're still going to reread and discuss Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian chapter 18. New episodes of Prophecy Radio air weekly, and all ages are welcome to tune in. Looking ahead to 2023 (00:02:07) On January 10, The Sword of Hades will be re-released with a The Sun and the Star sneak peek. Are you going to pre-order it? One of the biggest books to come out this year will be The Sun and the Star: A Nico di Angelo Adventure by Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro, which will release on May 2. Here's everything we know about The Sun and the Star so far. We speculate what we might get when we read Chalice of the Gods, which comes out on September 26. And let's not forget the Rick Riordan Presents imprint! What books can we look forward to in 2023? First up on the list is Winston Chu vs. the Whimsies by Stacey Lee, who will be releasing her first book under RRP. We loved Ballad & Dagger, so it should come as no surprise that Last Canto of the Dead by Daniel José Older is at the top of our lists for 2023. Next up, we have The Last Fallen Realm by Graci Kim, which will wrap up the Gifted Clans series. Roshani Chokshi is writing another book for RRP, this time about Filipino mythology! Obviously we can't wait for the second book in the Serwa Boateng series by Roseanne A. Brown. And maybe it won't be the last! We really need to read City of the Plague God by Sarwat Chadda…if only so we can read Fury of the Dragon Goddess. This fall, we can also expect Pahua and the Dragon's Secret by Lori M. Lee to hit store shelves. Moko Magic by Tracey Baptiste also promises to be great, and we wonder if there will be any similarities to Ballad & Dagger. And even though we haven't covered the books yet on the podcast, we're excited for the next book in the Shadow Bruja series by J.C. Cervantes. Many of the Rick Riordan Presents authors have OTHER books coming out outside of the imprint. Which ones are we most looking forward to? First up, Roshani Chokshi gives us a Valentine's Day treat with The Last Tale of the Flower Bride. And then there's Tehlor Kay Mejia's Lucha of the Night Forest, out on March 21. And then there's Into the Light by Mark Oshiro, which has mushrooms on the cover, so you know it's going to be cool. What announcements for Percy Jackson and the Olympians do we think we'll get in 2023? They have to tell us who Zeus and Poseidon are eventually, right?? Could we get a trailer by the end of the year? Will Percy Jackson attend SDCC? Will they be at D23 again? What if they did monster reveals!? Make sure you check out Aryan's show on Paramount+, Adventures in Wonder Park. When could we expect a season 2 greenlight? As far as the Red Pyramid film coming to Netflix, we can probably expect the script to be finished. But we know it's not coming out in 2023, so we need to be patient! What about a director? Or any casting announcements? What's Prophecy Radio hoping to accomplish next year? We want to bring as many exclusives to you as we possibly can! But we're super excited to start The Kane Chronicles. Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian (00:54:52) We're talking about The Last Olympian chapter 18. How can Clarisse survive being turned into a block of ice? Chiron standing in between Kronos and Mount Olympus is pretty badass. Annabeth gave it a good old college try, but it just wasn't enough. How could you not LOVE AND RESPECT Nico di Angelo until the ends of the Earth after this scene?? Seeing Demeter and Persephone in action was pretty cool. And speaking of badasses—Paul and Sally can totally handle their own! Why does Ethan Nakamura have such a place of honor amongst Kronos' army? We need more fanart from the Battle of Manhattan! Feedback (01:19:49) A positive guy says he's really looking forward to Serwa Boateng's Guide to Witchcraft and Mayhem and Fury of the Dragon Goddess. Meanwhile, Phoebe's got her heart set on The Sun and the Star. Thanks for listening, and tune in next time for episode 65, where we'll discuss the Lightning Thief illustrated edition, as well as the graphic novel! This episode's hosts are: Karen Rought and Kristen Kranz. Each episode, our Prophecy Radio hosts and their guests will keep you up to date on the latest information coming out of Camp Half-Blood, including upcoming books and adaptation news, discuss a topic of choice, and do a chapter by chapter reread of the Percy Jackson series. I'm away again this week (normal service will be resumed next week), so I'm releasing another behind the scenes podcast in place of the normal Geektown Radio podcast. The interview this week (recorded in-person for a nice change!) features composer Mike Barnett, who chats about a couple of his upcoming projects - 'Action Pack', which is a preschool animated superhero series coming to Netflix in January, and animated film 'Bear Grylls Young Adventurer: Endangered'.Mike is a musician and composer of film, television and video games who, over the years, has garnered a reputation as a musical powerhouse working with some of the biggest companies in the entertainment industry.Mike scores 'Action Pack', an animated series scheduled to premiere on 4th January 2022 on Netflix. With hearts, smarts and superpowers, the heroic kids of the Action Academy work together to battle the baddies — and even bring out the good in them!In addition to that series, Mike most recently recorded with the Vienna Scoring Orchestra for the first in a series of animated feature films from BRON Creative/YBG Films', titled 'Bear Grylls Young Adventurer', based around the famed survivalist. Set in a Hogwarts-like school in Castleton, UK, the young Grylls deals with the challenges of childhood, learn early life lessons, and embark on globetrotting escapades with a group of friends known as the Secret Ops Squad. In 2016, Mike was nominated for an Annie Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Music in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production” for his score of Disney Juniors' animated series 'Sheriff Callie's Wild West'. Mike's music can also be heard on Disney Juniors 'Mickey Mouse and the Roadster Racers', as well as the sequel 'Mickey Mouse Mixed Up Adventures'. His other work includes Scholastic Entertainment's 'Clifford the Big Red Dog', Nickelodeon's 'Adventures in Wonder Park' and 'Butterbean's Café'; The Jim Henson Company/PBS Kids' series 'Splash and Bubbles', and more.Prior to setting out on his own, Mike worked at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control for Emmy-nominated composer James Levine on shows such as 'Glee', 'The Blacklist', 'American Horror Story', 'Rizzoli & Isles', 'Major Crimes', 'The Closer' and 'Damages'.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/geektown. Emma Sameth is a a singer/songwriter based in LA and Portland, OR, who recently began a new initiative called Tech Nutrition. In this episode of Relate, we discuss the concept of cultivating an online presence versus an in-person presence. We talk about authenticity and how it relates to the online world and one's identity. We also chat about fandom, social media's impact on artists, and how tech wields the power to change relationships, for better or for worse. Be sure to check out Tech Nutrition at https://tech-nutrition.com/ and listen to Emma's music on Soundcloud at https://soundcloud.com/emma-sameth. Emma Sameth was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Her love of all things music led her to a career as an artist/songwriter in the bustling LA music scene. Working with hundreds of fellow artists both in the states and abroad, her singing can be found on Spotify and in the trailer for Paramount’s feature film Wonder Park. As an independent artist reliant on social media and online platforms to market her music, overuse gradually turned to compulsive dependence when it came to online feedback. This weakened her intrinsic love for the creative process, while simultaneously reinforcing the idea that vanity metrics and popularity contests were the ultimate objectives. Her experiences in the industry led her to found Tech Nutrition, a creative writing-based rebuttal to the incessant whisperings of big tech promising social salvation through statistics and follower counts. She’s determined to share her findings in the hope of helping others break free of their Instagram envy, and rediscover creativity and collaboration for personal fulfillment and healing. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/relate-patrick-mcandrew/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/relate-patrick-mcandrew/support

Cloverleaf Radio's host The Host with the Most Jimmy Falcon welcomes Actress Briana Denski to the show! Brianna is the leading voice in Paramount's animated feature film WONDER PARK, has done commercials for Lysol and Nickelodeon, portrayed Jackie Durham in the Lifetime movie WISHIN' AND HOPIN'. been seen on the TV series MOMSTERS and has done a variety of musical theater. Brianna was born with a love for entertaining. Her favorite movies as a baby were the musical CATS and Disney's FANTASIA. Her first on stage experience was as an Angel in the Nutcracker Suite where she continued to perform for many years as a Soldier, Clown and Little Marie. Her dancing career came to an end when she was given the lead role in ANNIE, Jr. and a scheduling conflict occurred. It was a tough decision for a 9 year old girl to make, but it was what launched her into her current acting path. After performing as Annie and the role of Tammy Mara in MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, her director and school principal drove her to New York City to audition for the Broadway musical Annie. Although she did not receive a part, it opened the door to future trips into the city. She soon met her manager and was off and running to auditions with big dreams in her heart and then was diagnosed with nodules on her vocal chords. She was instructed not to sing for a year, which was very difficult for Brianna, and put her in a more solemn mood. However, she continued to go on acting auditions with her deep, husky voice. In November 2014, she auditioned for the lead in the Paramount animated feature film WONDER PARK, and because of her unique. mature, husky voice, she landed the leading role. On the twenty-first episode of Much Review About Nothing, we review Wonder Park (2019). Again, we must point out that we haven't seen the movie. That is 100% not a joke. Everything we know about the film comes from the trailer, reviews, articles, and our own biased preconceptions. Listen along as we ponder burning questions like: Can marketing to imaginary beings be a lucrative business plan? Are the Wonder Park animals plotting humanity’s downfall? What do you do if your loved ones are lookin’ a little chunky? When will filmmakers finally give narcoleptic people the level of representation they deserve? Why are dead/dying parents so conducive to magical whimsy? But most importantly, how bad does a film have to be if Alan Smithee won’t even own up to it? Welcome back to another Monday breakdown, it's week #25 that means we have 27 more weeks to go in 2019. We're so close to the middle of the year! I still can't believe half the year is almost over. We've celebrated the longest day of the year on Friday, June 21. But if you live in Washington DC, the latest sunsets will start on the day after the solstice the 22nd. The longest day also brings an essential question to light "What is the Stonehenge" Que the song from Stonehenge by Ylvis. It is a marvelous prehistoric monument built with Huge stones weighing over several tons. There we have it the longest day of the year, so many more days and weeks to go. Lets recap on who you got to listen to last week on the podcast: Shelley Allen told us about how to organize our thoughts before we start to write our book. Quentin Allams discussed the dedication of our life's story to build our brand awareness. Falguni Katira gave us tips on how she helps gain confidence when going back to work after spending time raising our children. And finally, Andrew Katers delved into the inner workings of what it takes to be an actor, martial artist, and extremely humble. The trailer to John Wick HEX looks impressive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nEwjqisgGY and if you're so inclined pre-order the game for your PC or MAC: https://epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/johnwickhex/home A lot of you guys might've seen him in a favorite show where he was a prince, others have seen him saving the world one way or another. From the historic west to the futuristic time traveling to save the world. Or by fighting alien bad guys by giving them a little sneeze and infiltrate their defense mechanism. He's taught us the true meaning of finding happiness through struggle and by giving up his organs as he meets his potential donors. I mean the list can keep going on. But he's been in one part or another in your life. He's a father of two and a husband to a lovely woman. I'm sure you've probably figured out who this man was that came in my dreams.
