Prieš Rusijos pradėtą plataus masto invaziją Timuras gyveno Kyjive ir kūrė eksperimentinę elektroninę muziką, prisistatydamas sceniniu slapyvardžiu John Object. Jis išmoko gyventi atviromis ausimis, nuolat ieškodamas įdomių garsų, kuriuos galėtų panaudoti muzikoje. Trečią invazijos dieną Timuras prisijungė prie Ukrainos kariuomenės.Tapęs kariu, jis irgi randa progų įsiklausyti į jį supančią aplinką: šautuvo šūvis jam skamba kaip staccato, oro pavojaus sirenos kaukia disonansu, pianinu kariuomenės poilsio salėje skambina muzikantas. For our next step in the journey into the audio art of Axel Kacoutié, a dreamlike exploration of depression in the underground.  Inspired partly by a bruised looking cloud at sunset, we follow Axel on a subway ride where he rediscovers a lesser known truth about hope.  In response to Emily Dickinson's poem 'Hope is the thing with feathers', this work was originally produced for BBC's Between the Ears, from Falling Tree Productions.

Lakesia Collins is a CNA determined to change the narrative. Working multiple caregiving jobs while raising kids, she had to file bankruptcy because her nursing home paid her poverty wages. Becoming a union organizer empowered her to run for state representative of Illinois’ 9th District. Her plan is not just to get bills passed but to organize her district around the issues that she understands firsthand - housing, lifting the ban on rent control and over-policing. In this episode, she explains how these issues intersect with how COVID-19 is disproportionately affecting the working class and people of color, and why organizing is the answer.Reporter ARIEL MEJIA (she/her) is a Chicago native who came to audio art and radio production by way of feminist praxis, community organizing and sexual health education. Her work has been featured on the BBC show Shortcuts from Falling Tree Productions, as well as Antibody, a podcast series from Jacobin Magazine’s The Dig. This week: an amazing piece of trans experimental audio, plus a big announcement during the end credits. ************** Slow-Burn Seeking, is a short work of audio fiction inspired by text from dozens of 80's & 90's era personal ads drawn from an archive of the On Our Backs women's erotica magazine. Using only remixed text from these ads and from their own contemporary dating profile, Ariana Martinez composed this heart-to-heart conversation between a lovesick queer, nonbinary person still finding their footing and a benevolent queer ghost (voiced by Casey Orozco-Poore). This re-imagined conversation makes space for more expansive readings of gender than were present in the original archival material and lays bare some of the questions and anxieties that come with seeking love and physical intimacy as a nonbinary person. This work originally aired on March 17, 2020 on BBC Radio 4’s Short Cuts with support from Falling Tree Productions. **************** The Transcripts podcast is a project of the Tretter Transgender Oral History Project at the University of Minnesota Libraries. It was the height of WWII when T. S. Eliot published his masterpiece, The Four Quartets (1943). England was locked in a bitter fight with the Nazis.
