Garrett Kell emphasizes the importance of the local church in helping believers persevere in their faith and avoid apostasy. He cites the book of Hebrews, which warns against falling away from God and exhorts believers to protect, provoke, and submit to one another through pastoral relationships. He stresses that the church is God's antidote to apostasy, calling believers to lock arms, exhort one another daily, stir up love and good works, and obey their leaders who keep watch over their souls.

Holiness is not optional for the Christian life; it is essential, as Hebrews 12 reminds us that "without holiness, no one will see the Lord." This panel explores how the gospel both saves us by grace and calls us to a radical, Spirit-empowered pursuit of holiness that cuts out sin at its root. With insights from Kevin DeYoung, Rosaria Butterfield, and Garrett Kell, the discussion addresses how to live in the tension of being fully justified in Christ while striving for the holiness that reflects Him. Ultimately, it's a call to pursue a life of godliness with joy, knowing that Jesus is worth it.
This message from Luke 18 challenges us with the question: Is Jesus worth it? Through the story of the rich young ruler, we see how Jesus exposes our hearts, calling us to surrender everything for the treasure of knowing and following Him. The ruler's tragic decision to walk away reveals the grip of idols that blind us to Jesus' infinite worth. Will we trust Him, letting go of what the world offers, to embrace the life only He can give?

If I'm totally honest, the idea of talking to my kids about sex isn't the most appealing. But as a Christian parent, it is important that my kids are blessed with a biblical vision for sex and sexuality. If I neglect this responsibility it may be the case that their thinking is informed by the world.Today we are going to be talking with Garrett Kell, father of seven, pastor of Del Ray Baptist Church and author of the book Pure in Heart about how to talk to our kids about these sensitive subjects. We are going to talk through three general areas: how to first introduce the concept of human sexuality and baby making with elementary age kids, how to shepherd kids in purity as they reach puberty and how to help kids think biblically about the sexual confusion they might encounter among kids of their own ages. Below are some books for kids that Garrett recommends:God Made Me SeriesThe Story of MeThe Talk: 7 Lessons to Introduce Your Child to Biblical SexualityGood Pictures Bad Pictures: Porn-Proofing Today's Young Kids

Ask the struggler about every e-device he owns. 2. Encourage him or her to get a software monitoring program, such as Covenant Eyes, and put it on all his devices. 3. Get rid of standard web browsers and rely on a browser that is carefully monitored. 4. Get rid of the applications store. If a new app needs to be downloaded onto a tablet or phone, provide access only temporarily. 5. Use special restrictions to cut out the web browser and app store, set time limits, and so on. Make sure the restrictions code is known only to an accountability partner. If the struggler knows it, he or she will remove the restrictions in a moment of weakness and act out. 6. Get rid of all apps that have an embedded browser. What's the principle behind these six points? We're removing control from the believer who struggles with porn and giving it to others because he or she can't steward the freedom of open access.
