Luke 18:1-8
Chased. Opposed. Misunderstood. Beaten. These are the realities Paul, Barnabus, and the early church faced as they went on mission with Jesus, spreading the Gospel. Their call and courage to face all they faced came from hearts that were captured by Jesus, and because of that, people were transformed. It makes me wonder if I have too much to lose to be on mission with Jesus. Am I treasuring something more than I treasure the Gospel? What has my heart, really? How can I ensure my heart is capture by Christ more than anything else?
In Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas experience misunderstanding, suffering, perseverance, and ultimately the strengthening of the church — reminding us that God works through both miracles and hardships to shape a story worth sharing, and that the gospel most powerfully moves forward through ordinary people who faithfully point others to Jesus.
Persevering in the mission and having lasting kingdom impact requires a posture that is rooted in dependence on the Holy Spirit. When God moves, you must resist the temptation to absorb the platform and remain steady through both praise and persecution. Over time, real impact comes as you faithfully multiply what God has done in you into others.
In this heartfelt and emotional episode of Outside the Pins, we sit down with graduating senior Jaclyn “Jac” Dutkiewicz to reflect on a journey filled with resilience, love, growth, laughter, and ultimately a national championship.

What happens when years of discipline, performance, and expectation lead to an outcome you never planned for? In this episode, former USC quarterback Max Browne shares two powerful leadership takeaways: why acknowledging failure is a critical step toward growth, and how maintaining focus amid uncertainty can shape long-term success. His journey offers a candid look at what it means to persevere when the path forward no longer looks the way you expected.Max reflects on his experience as the nation's top high school quarterback and his decision to attend USC, where early expectations quickly shifted. After losing the starting quarterback position, he was forced to confront adversity in a way he never had before. He credits his upbringing for instilling accountability and resilience, explaining how those values helped him navigate disappointment, stay grounded, and continue showing up as a leader despite changing circumstances.Throughout his college career, Max experienced significant instability, including multiple coaching changes and evolving team dynamics. Rather than viewing this as a setback, he chose to see it as an opportunity to learn from a variety of leadership styles. He shares how these experiences strengthened his perspective and ultimately prepared him for his career as a broadcaster. He also opens up about one of the lowest points in his life, when he lost his starting role after finally earning it, and how seeking support outside of football played a pivotal role in his ability to move forward.Following a career-ending injury and the realization that his future would extend beyond football, Max began intentionally preparing for what came next. By investing time in content creation and relationship building before his career officially ended, he created new opportunities that aligned with his evolving identity. One of his most impactful lessons is the importance of setting aside pride in order to grow, a mindset that ultimately opened unexpected doors. His story reinforces a final key takeaway: long-term success is built not just on talent, but on the willingness to adapt, take ownership, and consistently invest in what comes next.Links & Resources:Follow Suken on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sukenjain/Email Suken at: suken@synergysyncsolutions.comSynergy Sync Solutions Website: https://www.synergysyncsolutions.com/This episode was brought to you by Pivot Ball Change.

Today on Table Talk with BBYOInsider, we are giving an in-depth look at this week's parsha—Parsha Shmini—as part of the Simchat Torah Challenge.
In this episode of NASCIO Voices, Amy is joined by NASCIO guest host Kalea Young-Gibson to break down NASCIO's latest report on the state Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) role. The report — based on responses from all 28 currently active state CPOs — reveals a role that's growing fast but still fighting for the resources it needs.Amy and Kalea dig into the rapid expansion of CPOs across state government (from just 5 states in 2015 to 31 in 2026), the push toward formal privacy programs and frameworks, and how AI is reshaping — and sometimes overshadowing — the privacy function. Despite CPOs stepping into enterprise leadership roles, most still lack dedicated budgets, enforcement authority, and sufficient staffing. The conversation also covers what CPOs say they need most: funding, CIO support, and a stronger seat at the table. Amy's key takeaway? CPOs know exactly what to do — they just need the authority and investment to do it.Key topics covered:Growth of the state CPO rolePrivacy program maturity and the NIST frameworkCPO involvement in AI policy and riskTop challenges: funding, authority, and awarenessWhat CPOs need to succeed in 2026 and beyondAnd what we're reading!

With T is for Training Host Maurice Coleman away for the evening, we were faced with a simple choice: persevere with a substitute host or pull the plug. The fact that you're reading this and about to listen to the recording tells you that substitute host Paul Signorelli—along with Regular Suspects Jared Bendis, Aaron Blumberg, Tom Haymes, and Mark Corbett Wilson—persevered with a conversation centered on “Persevering or Pulling the Plug in Training-Teaching-Learning.” Among the ideas bubbling up during the conversation: the nature of heroism in learning and persevering, helping learners persevere by making things crystal clear, engaging learners to produce, and peer learning as the highest level of learning. Hope you enjoy the conversation. Full notes (and links!) on tisfortraining.wordpress.com
This past Sunday, Pastor Brian preached part 2 of "Persevering through the Storm," where he takes a deep dive into the word to show where we find strength from God to overcome the trials of life.
Dean Dunning shares a story from a childhood deer hunting trip in the Michigan woods that left him paralyzed by the fear of an imagined threat. Drawing parallels to our spiritual journey, Dean explores the foundational message of Romans 5. He discusses how being justified through faith allows us to experience peace with God and find purpose in our trials. Rather than being overcome by hardship, we are invited to "rejoice in our sufferings" because of the spiritual chain reaction they produce: suffering builds perseverance, perseverance develops character, and character fuels a hope that never disappoints.
Tonight, we talk about having a faith that perseveres, endures, and lasts. We want to be marked by a faith that withstands life's challenges, distractions, and hardships.
Pastor Brian shares his testimony of God's hand in his life and the message of the scriptures of how God strengthens us in the storms of life.
Do you define and apply Faithfulness to yourself as you do to others? Share. Make it a great day in the Love & Lordship of Christ (Galatians 5:22; Lamentations 3:22-23)!
What does a faithful church look like when pressure rises? In 1 Peter 4:7–19, we discover how to stand firm, love deeply, and trust God when following Jesus isn't easy.

The Catechism teaches about the effectiveness of prayer and how to persevere in prayer. Fr. Mike explains that although God already knows what we need before we ask, he wants us to pray, and he extends us dignity by allowing us to pray and ask for what we need. In the process of prayer, we are able to learn the heart of the Father, grow closer to him, and become more like him. The Catechism goes on to state that when it comes to prayer, it is always possible, a vital necessity, and inseparable from the Christian life. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 2738-2745. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB.
