What do charges of blasphemy against Jesus teach us about who Jesus really is? Clearly the Jews, Scribes, Pharisees, and even Caiaphas the High Priest thought Jesus claimed to be God through what He said and what He did (see Mark 2; Matthew 26; Mark 2; Luke 5; and John 10). Many skeptics, as well as Jehovah's Witnesses and Latter-day Saints have tried explaining away passages like Mark 2, where the Scribes thought Jesus was blaspheming. They believe Jesus only had the authority to forgive sins, not that He was God, the Son, incarnate. This week on the Profile, we will tackle this objection as well as delve into Matthew's account of Caiaphas tearing his robes in Matthew 26:65. Both passages (Mark 2:1-12 and Matthew 26:57-68) are solid evidence that Jesus, the Son of Man, is in fact God the Son, incarnate. From IVPOur guest again this week is Mikel Del Rosario (PhD, Dallas Theological Seminary), professor of Bible and theology at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. He has coauthored thirty-one journal articles on apologetics and cultural engagement in Bibliotheca Sacra with his mentor, Darrell L. Bock. The Birth And Second Coming of Christ - The LORD of LORDS And KING of KINGS - (Rebroadcast 2024) by Shawn Ozbun
We all long for a leader who won't let us down. History is full of people who started strong but ultimately fell short. Even Israel's greatest kings—Saul, David, and Solomon—couldn't give people what they most needed. Their lives were shadows pointing to something more. At Christmas, we celebrate that the true King has come. It's more than a sentimental story—it's the arrival of God's promised King. God gave us not just a baby in a manger, but a great King who will reign forever. This Christmas season, we'll celebrate the long-anticipated King who doesn't rise and fall but reigns forever, the King our souls long for. Let's prepare our hearts to welcome Him.

However, the next time He comes, there is no doubt Who is in charge and what role Jesus will forever claim. Kneel and surrender to Him today! Key Phrase: “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow.” Philippians 2:10

Jesus speaks in parables to further dismiss those who are defiant in rebellious unbelief while disclosing saving faith discernment to His trusting disciples. Preaching the Parables: Proclaiming the King of Kings and His Kingdom.
In The Book of Revelation, during the ending times, the great cities of all nations have fallen, Babylon has gone up in smoke in less than an hour, and what's left of the living is four and twenty elders, four beasts, a mysterious crowd of many people cheering on the destruction, various aliens masquerading as Angels, and a false prophet that has performed miracles with help from a great beast. While all this is occurring, Heaven opens and THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS rides on a White Horse, and a sword exits the mouth from he who is riding the White Horse down from heaven to hit darkness with a heavy blow and judge all. As you listen to this episode and hear what's in theses verses, it becomes clear as to who and what the White Horse may really be and how a war between good and evil will play out in the sky. In this episode… Discover hidden meanings in The Book of Revelation about the White Horse and he who rode down from Heaven with armies behind him. See how compassionate an Angel was being by trying to nourish birds that were starving and at peril. Find out all the possibilities of who could have been riding the White Horse and how it was a mission granted by God. Learn what the true meaning of SMITE THE NATIONS really is, when THE KING OF KINGS and THE LORD OF LORDS has a sword exit his mouth. See how the war of all spiritual wars ensues and who wins in the end. Discover what is THE BEAST, and how the beast plays a role with the false prophet and the miracles the false prophet performed. Advent means an arrival or coming; the Advent season is a time for God's people to prepare their hearts to celebrate Jesus' arrival. This time of preparation involves both looking back to the past and looking forward to the future. We look back to Christ's first coming, when He was born, and we look forward to Christ's second coming, when he will come again to judge the living and the dead. This Advent, we will prepare to celebrate Christmas by considering four titles in Scripture attributed to Jesus Christ that will help us to behold his greatness. The first title is King of Kings.
In this podcast Wes Mann preached on Matthew 12
The Gospel of Matthew concludes with a spectacular display of God's ultimate power and authority over death and the grave. Jesus, who was once dead, now lives, having raised himself from the grave. An angel scares away the guards and gives the women at the tomb great news as they look for Jesus' body: "He is not here, for he has risen." Jesus then meets His disciples on a mountain in Galilee and gives them the Great Commission: to make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching, promising "I am with you always, to the end of the age." The Rev. Dr. Steven Mueller, Vice President and Chief Mission Officer, Professor of Theology, and Dean of Christ College at Concordia University, Irvine, CA, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study Matthew 28:1-20. The Gospel of Matthew bridges Old and New Testaments, presenting Jesus as the promised Messiah who fulfills the Law we could never keep and establishes His kingdom of grace for all nations. Written by a tax collector transformed by pure grace, Matthew reveals Christ as the true Son of David and Emmanuel (God with us) who challenges us with the crushing demands of the Law in His Sermon on the Mount to the sweet comfort of the Gospel in His death and resurrection. From royal genealogy to glorious resurrection, this verse-by-verse study proclaims the One who conquered sin, death, and the devil for us, now delivering forgiveness, life, and salvation through Word and Sacrament as He remains with His church always, even to the end of the age. Thy Strong Word, hosted by Rev. Dr. Phil Booe, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church of Luverne, MN, reveals the light of our salvation in Christ through study of God's Word, breaking our darkness with His redeeming light. Each weekday, two pastors fix our eyes on Jesus by considering Holy Scripture, verse by verse, in order to be strengthened in the Word and be equipped to faithfully serve in our daily vocations. The legitimacy of Christ's Kingship forces all people to decide on who their allegiance will be to: self or the Savior.
Kings don't die like this. Kings die in palaces, surrounded by honor, not naked and nailed to a Roman cross between criminals. Kings wear golden crowns, not thorns. Yet in Matthew 27, the “King of the Jews” is stripped, spat upon, mocked, and crucified. As Jesus' spirit departed his body, the temple veil is torn in two, earthquakes shook the land, and a Roman centurion is compelled to proclaim, "Truly this was the Son of God!" The Rev. Steven Theiss, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells, MO, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study Matthew 27:27-66. The good news about our one true King. A sermon for Christ the King Sunday on Jeremiah 23:1-6 & Luke 23:33-43 by Rev. Justin Morgan
In this podcast Nathan Potts preached on Matthew 12
This is message 23 in The Names of God Series Psalm 136:1-26; Jonah 1:9 The world is filled with many voices and many beliefs, but there is only one true and living God, the God of the heavens who created all things and rules over every power seen and unseen. He is not one option among many and He is not limited by culture or circumstance. He is the sovereign Creator whose mercy endures forever and whose authority reaches from the highest heaven to the depths of the sea. Even in a world of spiritual confusion, His works, His power, and HIs presence reveal that He alone is God and He alone is worthy of our trust and worship.
