What does it mean to be grateful? What does the word “gratitude” mean to you? Today’s guest, Georgian Benta has based his life around the idea of gratitude and how it allows you to be more positive, uplifted and free. Georgian is the host of the “Gratitude Podcast”, in which he guides listeners from all over the world on how to live a grateful life. Through interviews with various spiritual leaders, coaches and colleagues, Georgian is able to give a new perspective to the meaning of gratitude and how it can change your life for the better. A Sign From the UniverseWhat got Georgian to this stage in life? Prior to starting his podcast, he was struggling to keep his business alive and barely had enough money to pay his rent. As he walked by the riverside in his home of Cluj, Romania, not knowing what to do next, he prayed that God would give him a sign.As he walked, an overwhelming sense of gratitude came over him. He felt himself change physically and mentally, becoming appreciative for every small thing in his life: his city, his apartment, the people in his life. He had an epiphany. Gratitude was the answer to living an authentic life and he wanted to share that message with the world. Spirituality for the Practical MindGeorgian describes gratitude as the mother of all virtues. It is the gateway to living a life filled with happiness, appreciation and love. While many see spirituality as a religious or impractical path to follow, Georgian says living a life full of gratitude allows everyone to tap into their spiritual side, even for the most logical and practical thinkers. For someone who wants to take that first step, Georgian says the best thing to do is live in the present moment. Ground yourself in the moment with a deep breath or a personal affirmation (you’ll see an example on today’s podcast!). He also emphasizes the importance of balance. While negative things always find their way into our lives, it is essential to acknowledge them but to focus on the positive aspects of life first. Living life in positivity makes it easier to resolve negative thoughts. Are you ready to live a more grateful life? Listen to the “Gratitude Podcast” for free on Georgian’s website or sign up for his seven-week How to Experience Abundance Through Gratitude course. Keep up with Georgian on Facebook and Instagram.

Chris Palmore is a gratitude creator and the founder of Gratitudespace.com.Inspired by the voice of Podcaster Adam Corolla he wrote a gratitude letter to his mom on his birthday. Shortly thereafter, he posted it publicly on Facebook. At the time, he could have never guessed that 4 short months later, his mother would be dead from cancer. He was devastated! This act of gratitude hugely impacted their relationship prior to her untimely death and created an even deeper lasting impression when it was read at her funeral. From there, and based on his own experience with the power of gratitude, Chris set out to assist others with their own gratitude experiences by writing letters to loved ones on the writer’s birthdays. He then launched his first website, Letters of Gratitude as a way to share the letters. Next, he set out on “The Punching Depression Tour” where he met with groups and gathered gratitude videos all along the West Coast beginning in Seattle, to San Francisco, to Los Angeles, and finally finishing the tour in Las Vegas. It was during this trip he was inspired to launch Gratitudespace.com because his original idea of collecting letters had become much more along the journey as he witnessed how gratitude affected people. This led him to interview top podcasters like Lewis Howes and Georgian Benta. He also interviewed Top-selling authors like AJ Jacobs and Paul Boyton and famous filmmaker and Poet, Prince Ea. He’s engaged many celebrities and even has a gratitude video with Jerry Springer! His passion is Reading, Sharing, and creating the spark of “What am I grateful for,” in others. All of the content Gratitudespace creates is made with the single hope of creating that spark. He believes everyone has something to be grateful for and they are just waiting for someone to ask.To get the thyroid test just go to: https://georgianbenta.com/thyroid-test and use the promo code GRATITUDE20

Brandon and Jerry discuss how to adopt an attitude of gratitude and the power it has to change the world around you.Benefits of Gratitude“Gratitude is one of the most powerful human emotions. Once expressed, it changes attitude, brightens outlook, and broadens our perspective.”   ― Germany KentAn attitude of gratitude can mean the difference between you getting the most out of your day, or trudging through another day in the rut.The Shawn Achor book, The Happiness Advantage, describes how having gratitude can bring you happiness and that it is happiness that attracts successful outcomes. Some of the happiness or gratitude examples include the following from his book: Happy physicians make more accurate diagnoses faster than unhappy ones. Optimistic salespeople outsell those who are not by over 50%! Your perception of someone who annoys you can shift to appreciation with an attitude of gratitude.Gray Matters - Your Brain Changes with Gratitude! We came across an article from the University of California Berkeley about how gratitude can change the chemistry in our brains! Positive thinking can release oxytocin which is a key element in health for us.   Having a genuine attitude of gratitude and a lack of negative thoughts and emotions will increase the stimulation of the prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain related to learning and decision making. If you want to make better choices in life, start with how you see yourself, and the people around you. Be grateful for what is around your world right now. Note the difference!Tips on How to Adopt an Attitude of GratitudeHopefully, you’ve listened to our episode and decided to adopt an attitude of gratitude now. If you haven’t listened to our episode yet, download it now and take a listen. How to Practice GratitudeThis week’s episode talks about ways we can increase our sense of gratitude for the world around us. It is like a muscle. We have to get regular workouts for it to become a major part of our character. If you are interested in practicing gratitude exercises but are not sure where to start, here are a few suggestions to get you started. Write out a gratitude list each night before bed. This tricks your brain to focus on positive thoughts throughout the night while you dream. Think about what that would do for your next day! Pay it forward! Someone has probably done something nice for you at a time you greatly needed it. Do that for someone else, but don’t do it out of a sense of obligation. Do it because you are grateful for what someone did for you. Write a letter of gratitude to someone with specific examples of why you appreciate that person. Whether you actually share that letter or not, you will find that your mindset has already shifted. What Are You Waiting For?Comment below and tell us what you are grateful for in your life right now.Share this episode with your social networks. Gratitude as a Way of Living Have you ever caught yourself comparing your life to others? Have you ever fell into the trap of wanting more and achieving more yet your life still feels empty? In the first episode of Grace and Gratitude Podcast, I had the privilege to talk to a humble and insightful person, Georgian Benta, a Gratitude Coach, Host and Founder of The Gratitude Podcast. His core message in this interview is gratitude as a way of living. But what does it all mean? How can it help you become more grateful and joyful when you have a bad day and when you are faced with a lot of challenges in life? In this interview, Georgian shares not only about gratitude but he also shares the challenges he currently experiences and the issues he presently deals with. He also explains the importance of breaks and pauses because the brain has a survival mechanism and people have the tendency to always move to the next thing – The next goal, the next big project! Another note worthy insight in our conversation is the reason why some people aren’t satisfied and happy even if they have a lot of money and even if they have achieved a lot of things in life already. And the dangers when you compare yourself to others. Further, if you are in a bumpy relationship right now, his practical gratitude tips and relationship advice will help you bring back some spark and love in your life. What we talked about: Major lessons, tips and advice from gratitude experts [2:09] The importance of rethinking our day [4:25] How can we value the things that we have right now? [6:00] The key secret to appreciating what we have at the present moment [6:32] How to be grateful when we have challenges in life? [8:23] Reliving the first time experience [9:43] The survival mechanism of the brain and the happiness mechanism [11:37] Compare and Despair [13:45] Overcoming relationship challenges [16:23] Gratitude as a way of living [21:35]] How to add more gratitude in your life when you’re having a tough time [26:55] Get in touch with Georgian Benta: www.georgianbenta.com The Gratitude Podcast Facebook  8 Lessons this interview taught me: Being is more important than doing. (Maybe that’s why we are called Human BEings) Intentional pauses, breaks, and reflections are great tools to bring us back to joy. If you want to change your outer world, you have to change your inner world. When you start to change the way you think, you start to change your life. Never compare yourself to anyone else, because your potential is uniquely yours. Gratitude unlocks joy. Thank you is more than a word. Just breathe and celebrate life.
