I was always intrigued by the premise behind “Love Is Blind” - a reality show where singles try to find a match and fall in love -- without ever seeing each other face-to-face, as emotional connection attempts to conquer physical attraction. Full disclosure, I don't watch TV so I haven't seen an episode but still, the notion of moving beyond physical appearance and chemistry feels simultaneously intriguing and super risky.  Then @Drew Taylor Cohen caught my attention with a post detailing her experience when building her @Bumble profile strictly on words stating her chosen values. NO perfect selfies.NO predictable prompts that yield, “I love to hike, travel, cook, walk my dogs and go wine tasting.” NO eggplant emojis. Just the personal values she attempts to live by. (Oh, and one picture of her at a distance to prevent being flagged as a bot). @Drew Taylor Cohen is an Impact Consultant and Values Coach, so we talked about how to identify our own chosen values and distinguish them from our beliefs and identities (something I rooted myself in historically). We also discuss the challenges of seeking validation from others while navigating personal choices and the need for self-awareness and the evolving nature of values as individuals grow and change. What an awesome conversation especially as I consider something similar in my own dating journey. Anyone relate? Join the conversation…Guest Bio:Trained in holistic, neurodiverse and values-aligned coaching techniques, Drew helps singles and couples break old patterns and align their values to find lasting love.Dedicated to finding love that felt soul-aligned and safe, she set out on a personal development journey that led her to discover her values and trust her needs and desires. What did she do next? She created a dating profile with no photos, just screenshots of her values and how she envisioned them being shared in an aligned partnership. And it worked! Her fiancé and her just celebrated four years of swiping right on the things that matter most.Through 1:1 coaching, she now helps her clients rewrite their own values-aligned love story and clarify what truly matters in love. Her aligned love method is about prioritizing your non-negotiables and curating love that mirrors the truth of who you already are.She also developed and leads the Live Authentically program. This workshop and accompanying workbook uses a proven framework that guides participants to explore who you are, discover your chosen values and pursue an aligned life. When she's not helping people align their relationships and life to their values, she's supporting purpose-driven organizations as a freelance impact consultant. Are you living a life you really believe in, or are you filling in time until your “real life” begins? Are you waiting on marriage, a better job, a new exercise regime or a beautiful house to create an authentic life?  Humans do need to have goals and plans, but it is also destructive to ignore those inner voices telling us what would bring us individual meaning.  In this classic episode, Andrew and PHILIP CARR-GOMM discuss how to start developing your authentic self right now, rather than endlessly kicking that important ball further down the road.  Philip Carr-Gomm is an expert in psychosynthesis, an  “awe-inspiring territory that has the power to transform us”. Philip has studied Druidry extensively and from 1988-2020 was the leader of The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. He has a degree in Psychology and has trained in psychotherapy, play therapy, Montessori education, yoga nidra, mindfulness meditation and Sophrology. In this thought-provoking episode of "Shark Theory," host Baylor Barbee delves into the symbolic parallels between Halloween's tradition of costume-wearing and the masks we wear in our daily lives. As we celebrate Halloween, Baylor challenges listeners to reflect on the "Halloween of life" and consider the masks they wear to navigate different social environments. This episode uncovers the truth about how wearing masks can drain energy and authenticity, urging us to embrace our true selves instead. Baylor Barbee explores the idea of authenticity through the metaphor of Halloween, highlighting how people often change their personas to fit in. He emphasizes the liberating power of showing up as your true self, suggesting this is the key to living a life of integrity and authenticity. The episode encourages listeners to drop their masks, clean up their internal and external portrayals, and, instead of pretending, embody power and confidence every day. Through SEO-friendly insights, Baylor offers invaluable life lessons on how authenticity positively affects our personal and professional lives. Key Takeaways: Understand the hidden costs of wearing masks in daily life and how it impacts your energy and sense of self. Embrace the concept of showing up authentically instead of relying on personas tailored to different social settings. Utilize personal subtraction rather than addition as a method for personal growth and authenticity. Adopt powerful and confident personas consistently to transform your self-perception and external actions. Treat yourself to the life you deserve by recognizing and leveraging your true qualities and potential. Notable Quotes: "The ultimate compliment that somebody could ever give you in life is when who you are is who you are regardless of where you are." "You never clean a house by adding to it. You always do it through subtraction." "Imagine having to be this confident version of yourself that looks people in the eye, that believes what they say, that takes action." "You're done tricking yourself...you're done living life below what you're capable of being." "Treat yourself to the life you deserve based on the person you are, the qualities you have, and the future that you have in front of you."

Ritu emphasizes the importance of being authentic and building a supportive community, and she provides insights into the challenges and rewards of writing and marketing a book.Throughout their conversation, Alex and Ritu discuss the importance of overcoming self-doubt, embracing change, and shedding negative influences from one's life. They highlight the significance of focusing on good energy and understanding that not everyone will like or accept you, which is a natural part of life. Ritu shares her thoughts on the impact of social media, the value of creating genuine connections, and the need for self-care and healing. Detoxing isn't just about flushing toxins - it's a journey of liberation. By purging the body of harmful substances, you're unburdening your mind from the shackles of trauma, anxiety and depression.    Committing for the long-haul unlocks more than just physical health - it allows you to become deeply connected to your instincts and inner voice in a way you've never experienced.    In the latest episode of The Darin Olien Show, I sit down with Josh Macin as he shares his harrowing journey through severe mental health struggles, the conventional pharmaceutical treatments that failed him, and his ultimate quest for healing in the Amazon with ayahuasca and other alternative therapies. We discuss  the significance of a gut healing protocol, reclaiming your health through intense detoxification methods, and the alarming decline in men's testosterone levels.   Josh shares his insights into living in integrity and establishing boundaries to avoid external influences, and we provide practical advice for listeners on becoming more self-aware of their health in relation to environmental factors like parasites, heavy metals, and glyphosate exposure.    Josh Macin is a former Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world champion, battled crippling anxiety and panic attacks for years after 2013. When conventional treatments failed, he experimented with powerful hallucinogens and alternative therapies worldwide in search of relief. Ultimately, heavy metal poisoning was discovered, leading him to detoxification. Now cured, he founded TheDetoxDudes.com to help others overcome toxicity.   What we discuss…   (00:00) Personal struggles with finding mental health treatment  (11:43) Healing heavy metal toxicity with detoxification  (15:39) The importance of healing the gut before chelation  (21:44) Toxins, detoxification and society's health crisis (31:53) Finding strength and optimism in adversity (35:39) Exploring non-judgment, sharing your truth, and living in integrity  (40:01) Working on defining yourself and finding your true identity  (59:49) Guidance on natural healing methods and detoxification (01:08:28) The need to set boundaries in relationships   …and more!   Don't forget:   You can order now by heading to darinolien.com/fatal-conveniences-book or order now on Amazon.   Thank you to our sponsors: Manna Vitality: Go to www.mannavitality.com and use code DARIN12 at checkout for 12% off.
