Descend into the depths of the Scorpio Full Moon —an astrological and human design moment that asks us to release what we can no longer control, to surrender what no longer serves and to trust in the darkness: death and rebirth. We explore the energy at play, including that of the “Finger of God” pointing toward the Moon, inviting profound emotional reckoning and soul level redirection. I'll share what this lunation means through the lens of Human Design's Energy Assimilation and offer reflections, mindset shifts and journal prompts to help you honour your own inner rebirth. This isn't about fixing yourself— it's about letting go so the real you can rise. Resources from today's episode Work with Phi Learn more about 1:1 Coaching with Phi here. Recharge and Renew - Bali Retreat August 2025 Message Phi on Instagram Email Phi The full moon this month in May 2025 is happening in Scorpio Hello my love, How are you feeling in the thick of this full moon, arguably one of the most intense for 2025 if we didn't already get served that with the ending of the eclipse season. The full moon is on the 12th of May 2025 and 13th of May 2025 here in Australia. This is not a moon for surface-level insights. It's a time of depth, transformation and truth telling. Scorpio doesn't whisper; it pierces. In this episode I'm explore the energies at play, including powerful energetic formations and and the voice of assimilation in Human Design, a voice that reminds us that real clarity arises from the silence after we've surrendered control. This is your permission slip to stop trying to fix, rush, or control anything and instead, let the mystery reveal itself to you. What planets rule Scorpio? Mars and Pluto It's the Scorpio full moon. Scorpio is ruled by two planets: Mars and Pluto. Mars is considered the traditional ruler, and Pluto is the modern ruler. Both of these planets explain different layers of Scorpio's intense and mysterious personality. Mars, in astrology, is the planet of action, drive, and passion. It's all about how you go after what you want. Before Pluto was discovered, Mars was the only ruler of Scorpio. While Mars also rules Aries (which is bold and fast), in Scorpio, Mars shows up in a more controlled, focused way. Instead of charging forward like Aries, Scorpio's Mars is more strategic, emotionally driven, and intense. Think of it like a slow-burning fire — it might look calm on the outside, but it's powerful underneath. Then there's Pluto, which was discovered in the 1930s. Even though it's a tiny planet (and no longer considered a planet by astronomers), astrologers gave it to Scorpio because its energy matched so well. Pluto is about transformation, power, secrets, and the cycle of death and rebirth — emotionally, spiritually, or even literally. This gives Scorpio its reputation for being deep, mysterious, and a little bit obsessed with what's under the surface. Pluto's influence makes Scorpio want to understand the truth behind things, even if it's dark or uncomfortable. Death is the beginning for Scorpio transformation Together, Mars and Pluto explain why Scorpio energy can feel so intense because it's driven (Mars), and it's deep and transformative (Pluto). Scorpio doesn't just want the surface-level version of life. It wants to go all the way down to the core: to understand, to feel, to change, and to rise again stronger. Scorpio whispers to you that you are not here to stay the same. You are here to shed skin again and again until your essence gleams clean and true beneath the weight of all you've outgrown. You are here to walk willingly into the fire, not because you enjoy the burn, but because you know the ashes will teach you how to rise. Let the identity that no longer fits dissolve.
Alignment is often glamourised as a constant state of flow, clarity and purpose but the reality is far more nuanced. In this episode, we uncover 11 raw and rarely spoken truths about what alignment really looks and feels like. It's not always peaceful or polished — in fact, sometimes it shows up as discomfort, endings or a deep sense of uncertainty that's guiding you to something more honest. We talk about the quieter forms of alignment, like making decisions that don't make sense to others but feel deeply right to you. You'll hear about the courage it takes to let go of things that are “almost right,” and why aligned living isn't about perfection — it's about integrity, even when it's inconvenient or uncomfortable. This episode is both a reality check and a permission slip to honour your own unique path.Whether you're in the middle of a transition, questioning what's next, or simply craving more depth on your personal growth journey, this conversation offers grounded wisdom and soulful reminders. Welcome to episode 111 of the grow through it podcast. That angel number alone feels like a portal, so it's only fitting we talk about something equally powerful and often misunderstood: alignment. It's become a bit of a buzzword, hasn't it? “Just align with it.” “That's not aligned.” But what does it really mean to live in alignment? Not in an Instagram caption kind of way, but in a real, embodied, sometimes messy, deeply honest kind of way?In this episode, I'm breaking down 11 practical shifts: truths, perspectives and tiny mindset recalibrations — that can help you actually feel what alignment is, not just talk about it.Let's demystify the word, anchor it into reality, and maybe, by the end, alignment will feel a little less elusive… and more actionable, achievable, possible. It's beautiful timing as I am getting in the creative flow zone channelling for the upcoming Flow Retreat Im running in Vietnam at the end of this month with 7 incredible and beautiful women!Let's dive in.11 Things You Need to Know About Alignment (That No One Talks About) 1. Alignment isn't a buzzword—it's a felt experience. It's not about having the perfect morning routine, or ticking spiritual practices off a list, collective gold stars from the universe. Alignment is about truth. It's about how honest you're willing to be with yourself. It asks: Can you be radically honest with yourself? Can you pause long enough to listen—not just to your mind, but to your body, your breath, your subtle yes and your sacred no? Can you soften into your inner knowing before charging ahead with the next task or to-do?Alignment isn't aesthetic. It's a deep, steady resonance that hums when you're connected to your yes—and brave enough to honour your no.
You've heard of your Saturn Return — but what happens when your soul knocks again, not with pressure, but with purpose? In this episode, we dive deep into the Nodal Return, the cosmic rite of passage that unfolds around ages 36/37/38 — a powerful checkpoint that asks: Are you truly living in alignment with your soul's path? We explore: What is your Nodal Return and what are the nodes? (beyond the astrology jargon) Why it often brings changes in career, relationships, and identity The difference between your first Nodal Return (around 18) and your second (mid thirties) Why this time is less about achievement and more about meaningful alignment Real-life themes I see in 1:1 client sessions and Human Design readings Whether you're navigating your Nodal Return now, approaching it, or reflecting on it in hindsight — this episode will help you make sense of the deep shifts, honour the changes you're feeling, and lean into the life your soul came here to live. There's been a sudden wave of clients coming to me over the past two weeks — all with the same quiet question under their stories: “What is going on with my life right now?” And when I look under the surface, the answer is often the same — they're in the thick of their nodal return. It's a cosmic checkpoint, one that doesn't come gently — and it's not supposed to. Because your nodal return isn't about comfort. It's about course correction. It's about remembering what your soul actually signed up for before it came back to Earth. In this episode, we're diving into what a nodal return really is, why it can feel so disorienting, and how to navigate it with grace, truth and a whole lot of courage. What is a nodal return (human design, astrology)? We have to start with what are the nodes in astrology, energy, spirituality and human design. They're not planets themselves, but rather energetic points where the moon's path intersects with the sun's path. These points are closely tied to eclipses and are considered deeply connected to your soul's journey. As I'm recording this, we're in a fresh nodal cycle with the North Node now in Pisces and the South Node in Virgo (2025-2027). For the past two years, we've been living through the Aries-Libra axis (2023-2025). When does your nodal return happen? Your nodal return happens approximately every 18 years when your nodes return to the position (degree, sign and energy) when you were born. This means you have a nodal return when you are around the ages of 18, 36, 54 and 72. Why is your nodal return important? The importance of your nodal return is that it's linked to destiny. What exactly do we mean when we talk about "destiny"? From a spiritual lens, it's believed that your soul chose to come to Earth with a mission — a roadmap, if you will (your human design). This is the essence of destiny: your soul's chosen path of evolution and expression. Nodal return and eclipses = destiny Eclipses, which are powered by the nodes, have always held an air of fate. Astrologers view them as moments to completely release control — a time to hand things over to a greater force; to ...

There's been a sense of things shifting, old ways breaking down and new beginnings that don't quite have shape yet. You're not imagining it. There's something in the air —an underlying push of change and to grow. At the end of this week we have the supermoon in the sign of Taurus, rising on the 27th and 28th. Today, we're diving into the spiritual meaning of Easter—beyond the chocolate eggs, bunnies and pastel colours and into the deep waters of rebirth and resurrection. What is a Supermoon? It's a supermoon because it's closer to Earth, bigger and brighter in the sky, and energetically it offers a pause — a moment to return to what's simple, steady, and real. Think: grounding, presence, beauty, body. Even in the chaos, this moon is a fresh start. A chance to come home to yourself. A final call out before I dive into this episode the Flow Vietnam Retreat is happening on the 25th of May to the 31st, final spots available. If you're interested, curious or feeling the pull - I invite you to message me and let's chat about the retreat! Pope Francis Taurus Supermoon April 2025 Just as this moon rises, the world feels the tremble of change in more ways than one. The recent passing of Pope Francis marks more than the end of a life — it symbolises a shift in global authority, tradition, and spiritual leadership. Whether you follow the Church or not, his death touches something collective: a changing of the guard. We're seeing it everywhere — in governments, institutions, culture. What used to hold power is dissolving. What once felt untouchable is being questioned. We're entering a new era, and while we may not fully understand what's coming, we can feel that something is being restructured — from the top down and the inside out. Collective energy Taurus Supermoon April 2025 This Taurus Supermoon, then, offers more than personal grounding. It's a collective breath. A reminder that real power doesn't come from control, status, or fear — but from values, integrity, and connection to what's true. As the world reorients, you're invited to do the same. To ask: Where have I given my power away? What do I want to build that lasts? What do I trust when everything else is uncertain? So in this episode, we're diving into the themes of this Taurus New Supermoon, how it ties into the bigger collective shifts we're moving through — and I'll walk you through a practical mindset map to help you realign with what matters most. It's been a whirlwind few weeks having been in LA, San Fran, San Jose, New York and Sedona. I'm now back in Australia. Such an interesting couple of weeks as I had a few posts go viral whilst being away and so saying hi and welcoming new listeners to the podcast and a warm welcome back for those here again!Today, we're diving into the spiritual meaning of Easter—beyond the chocolate eggs, bunnies and pastel colours and into the deep waters of rebirth and resurrection. Who is Yeshua (Jesus) Let's begin not with "Jesus" as we often hear him—but with Yeshua, as a Jewish man, mystic and teacher. Yeshua is the original Hebrew name for the man commonly known in the Western world as Jesus. He walked this earth not as a figurehead of a religion but as a deeply embodied soul, attuned to the divine. He spoke of the Kingdom of Heaven not as a place far away, but as something within. To say "Yeshua" is to remember his humanity and his roots. It's to see him as a spiritual teacher, perhaps even an ascended master who came to awaken love, compassion and truth in a time of oppression and fear.So in this episode, when I say Yeshua, I'm not speaking of a distant religious icon this is whom I'm referring to.There's a part of this episode that feels deeply personal for me. If you've read my book The Great Unlearning you'll know because I didn't always feel safe with the word Jesus. I grew up in a Catholic environment—where God well not God but religion often felt distant, judgmental, or angry. Where faith was more about fear than freedom. Where you had to confess your sins to be clean. Where divinity lived up there, not in here. For a long time, I associated Jesus with that fear. That shame. That sense of not being good enough. Not being pure enough. But something shifted when I began to explore Yeshua. Not the Jesus of institutions, but the Yeshua of love.It was really initiated 2 years ago when I was in Bali, I had my first personal encounter of Yeshua energy on the night of a full moon. He appeared as a loving protector. Easter as a Spiritual Metaphor for Resurrection Easter marks the story of Yeshua rising from the dead but the deeper, spiritual meaning of resurrection isn't just about one man coming back to life. The spiritual metaphor of resurrection wasn't just a moment in time but as a metaphor for your life. How many times have you died and come back to life?Think of the heartbreaks, the job losses, the versions of yourself that cracked open, shattered— and somehow, still, you rose.Spiritually, resurrection means coming back to life—after something has ended, broken down or fallen away. Spiritual Rebirth When we speak of rebirth, we're really speaking of a return to truth. A shedding of old identities, old stories and illusions that no longer serve us. Yeshua's resurrection wasn't only about life after death; it was also a radical statement about what it means to transcend fear, ego, and the worldly structures and conditioning that bind us.

Are you being REAL with us?We all want to "just be real," but the honest truth is that there are a lot of external societal pressures that prevent this from happening. Psychological studies prove that living authentically can benefit you physically, emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually. In this episode, we dive deep into the cosmic shift as Neptune moves into Aries, igniting a collective call to merge intuition with bold action. Neptune: the planet of dreams, illusions and spirituality, enters Aries — a fiery sign of taking action and individuality. We explore the key themes of this transit — trusting intuitive impulses, navigating uncertainty and redefining boundaries where imagination meets initiative. You'll gain insights into how Neptune's influence can blur the lines between vision and reality, and how Aries energy can empower you to move through that fog with decisive clarity. Expect practical tips on grounding yourself when spiritual idealism feels overwhelming, learning to discern between impulsive action and divinely guided steps and staying aligned with your authentic desires without losing yourself in illusion. Whether you're seeking to step into leadership, birth a creative project or simply feel more connected to your path, this episode offers reflections to help you navigate this transformative cycle with courage. Hello my love, coming to you live as I am currently in America during this eclipse with Neptune in Aries feels almost like stepping into a dream. LA's energy is electric, full of freedom and possibility, and it's been such a blast. But what really gets me is watching my inner child experience it all—seeing life the little things whole new layer of magic to everything. There's this sense of adventure in the air, and I'm soaking it all in, embracing the chaos and beauty of it all. This conversation has been inspired by the receptivity into what's going on collectively at the moment. Neptune, as an influence — is all about dreams, intuition, and the unseen. It's the planet that rules our spiritual connection and the places where we lose ourselves in creativity and imagination. Aries, on the other hand, is bold, fiery, and pioneering—it's all about action, courage, and new beginnings. So when Neptune moves through Aries, it creates a unique meeting between dreamy idealism with a spark of impulsive energy. Neptune in Aries will occur from 2025 to 2039 after which Neptune will enter Taurus from 2038. Do note it will have a retrograde period around July later this year. In this episode, we'll explore what happens when these two forces collide, and how this transit can influence not just your dreams but your approach to taking action on them. It can be jarring after all the contrast of the signs. What is the effect of Neptune? What is Neptune's energy like? When we tune into Neptune's energy in the highest expression, we tap into a deeper part of ourselves—our intuitive wisdom, our psychic abilities and our spiritual essence. Neptune guides us to transcend the material world, offering us a direct link to the vast collective consciousness. As Neptune enhances your sensitivity to the unseen forces, it deepens your understanding of the world beyond the physical realm, opening the door to clearer insights and intuitive understanding. As you walk this spiritual path with Neptune, you may find that your intuition sharpens, but so too can your susceptibility to fantasy or idealism. Neptune teaches you to navigate the space between illusion and clarity, showing you the bigger picture over time. Neptune is most commonly associated with illusion, delusion, and confusion in astrology and energy systems like Human Design. It is linked to the concept of dissolving boundaries and can blur the line between reality and fant...

As you're listening to this it's pre recorded because I am currently in the city of angels Los Angeles. If you've been feeling off, sensitive or in the ringer so to speak it thankfully it ain't just you honey, I feel your pain.I've always been someone who emotionally processes my feelings, especially with my emotional authority in Human Design and my water placements, which guide me to feel deeply and reflect before responding. I'm used to working through my emotions internally, allowing myself time to feel and then release. But this eclipse, the Virgo one last Friday, caught me completely off guard. Instead of my usual emotional release, I found myself physically processing in a way I'd never experienced before. I woke up to rashes erupting all over my body, a full-blown physical manifestation of processing, discomfort, and overwhelm. Physical vs emotional processing eclipse season It felt like my body was communicating in a way I wasn't expecting, forcing me to slow down and pay attention to what I'd been pushing aside. The reality of the time line approaching? The raises starting a week before a long haul flight LA the timing couldn't have been more intense. I've always trusted that the universe has a way of showing us what we need to see, but this felt like a big, physical reminder to listen to my body in a new way. It was almost as though my body was saying, “Hey, it's time to process everything—not just emotionally, but physically too.”This unexpected physical eruption further cemented how deeply our bodies are intertwined with our emotions and how sometimes we can't bypass what needs to be released. I'm understanding myself more that while I've often relied on my emotional authority to guide me, there's also wisdom in tuning into the physical cues my body gives me.I feel like this year I have experienced myself and held space for clients with more skin issues than usual. The skin, IS the body's largest organ, holds deep spiritual significance, acting as a physical boundary between the inner and outer worlds. Spiritual meaning of skin The skin isn't separated, it's one, hence my rashes started flaring on my face and are also on my legs the next day you know?It is not just a protective layer; it is a reflective surface that reveals our emotional and spiritual health. When the skin undergoes a detox process, whether through physical symptoms like rashes or through practices like sweating or exfoliating, it is often a sign that old, stagnant energy is being released. Spiritually, detoxing through the skin signifies shedding emotional baggage, past traumas, or accumulated stress that no longer serves the body or spirit. It's a way of allowing new, fresh energy to enter, just as the body sheds old skin cells to make room for new growth.Spiritually,

We explore how the environment we are born into, along with the role of our parents and even our genetic gut biome, shapes our health from the very beginning. She shares why gut healing is often about simplicity—doing less rather than overloading the body with excessive supplements or diets. We also discuss common digestive issues, like bloating, and how to support the body in a way that actually works, rather than following trends that may not be effective for everyone. With so much conflicting advice on social media, she helps break down myths around self-diagnosing and the overwhelming flood of health trends that often cause more confusion than clarity.Beyond gut health, we explore the unseen toxins that impact our well-being—from environmental chemicals to everyday beauty products. Nelly started her product business as a teenager whilst having her own YouTube channel: a 100% clean, chemical-free approach to beauty and skincare. She explains why what we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put in them, and how detoxing from harmful products can be a key part of overall health.Throughout her years running her own business, Nelly also shares what it's like to build a career in holistic wellness—balancing education, entrepreneurship and personal healing. In this episode, we step into the energy of the Virgo Full Moon Eclipse, a portal of powerful purification, and quiet revelation. Rather than approaching Virgo through the lens of mere discipline and details, we channel its Buddhic essence—the energy of refined awareness, sacred service, and the devotion to embodying wisdom in the smallest of earthly acts. This eclipse asks: How does mindfulness translate into tangible reality? Where does sacred order arise within the seeming chaos of life? How do we surrender not to perfection, but to the flow of intelligent design already at play? Through Phi's channeled perspective, we explore Virgo as a vessel for enlightened action, where spirituality isn't separate from daily life but infused into love and choices. Expect insights on: The Buddhic mind – cultivating a spacious awareness amidst the shifting tides of this eclipse. Releasing over-identification – detaching from the illusion of control while still honouring deep devotion to your path. If the cosmic games haven't already started for you with Venus Retrograde and all things love, money and relationships at the end of this week on the 14th we have the Virgo full moon which happens to also be a lunar eclipse too. If you're keep tracking since my energy update for March 2025 you'll know this is the week before the official new astrological year in Aries kicking off on the 20th. It's very much the energy of letting go to do with Virgo, the collective karma at the moment. Virgo is associated with perfectionism, structure, routine, service, and discernment, this eclipse highlights areas where you may need to let go of rigid control, over-analysis or self-criticism. Virgo Full Moon Eclipse - Channelled Intuitive Message It makes a lot of sense when I channeled the upcoming energy I saw the taming of the mind - as if you were training your dog or puppy you know? Off the back of it what comes through is energy of a buddhic nature. One of my good friends recently got a puppy so I don't know if that's why it's connected but I'm going to roll with it. Taming the mind is much like training a puppy. At first, it wanders freely, chasing every impulse, barking at shadows and reacting instinctively to every noise. It pulls you in different directions, darting between excitement, fear, distraction and restlessness. But just as a dog learns discipline through patience and consistency, so too can the mind be gently guided toward stillness and focus. Imagine your thoughts as an unruly puppy—full of energy, curious, and easily led astray. You wouldn't scold it harshly for its nature, but instead, you would redirect it with kindness and clarity. When it gets distracted, you bring it back. When it tugs toward anxiety, you soothe it. Over time, with repetition, it learns to stay present, to trust in the steady rhythm of your breath, and to sit in quiet without needing constant movement. Like a well-trained pet, a tamed mind becomes an ally rather than an obstacle. It no longer jumps at every passing thought or reacts to every external trigger. Instead, it learns to wait, observe, and act only when truly necessary. This is not about suppression or control, but about cultivating a relationship built on trust. Aching, unfinished business often emerges. Alua has been present for thousands of these sacred moments—when regrets, fears, secret joys, hidden affairs, and dim realities are finally said aloud. This week, the energy is deep, transformative, and undeniably potent in February 2025. With Maha Shivaratri, the Pisces New Moon and intuitively the archetype of The Tower from the Tarot; woven together, we're stepping into a space of dissolution, surrender, and necessary rebirth. In this episode, we explore how Shivaratri, the great night of Shiva, invites destruction of illusion and devotion to truth. The Pisces New Moon amplifies this by dissolving what no longer serves, asking you to trust the unseen currents of your soul. And The Tower? It arrives as the catalyst—shaking the foundations you thought were stable, clearing the way for something truer. Expect reflections and a practical guide on letting go, trusting collapse, and allowing the unknown to guide you forward. Because sometimes, the breakdown is the breakthrough. We have a big week energetically coming up ahead with two significant things happening. First of all it's Shivaratri, Shivratri is a Hindu festival honouring Shiva, an Indian deity, celebrated with fasting, prayers, and night-long vigils to seek his blessings for transformation, inner peace, and spiritual growth and we have the Pisces New Moon. So what does this actually mean for you? I'm going to translate this energy for you as a practical guide to the week. What is Shivaratri and what's it got to do with The Tower in Tarot? For those listening to where I'm based in Sydney, Australia, Shivaratri takes place Wednesday February 26th 2025 4:38pm to Thursday 27th February 2025 2:24pm. Shivaratri means Great Night of Shiva. Shiva is the Hindu God that represents destruction which says a lot about the energy that is taking place this week. This time last year I was blessed enough to be in India during Shivaratri and it truly activated a of necessary destruction in my life including within my previous relationship and living situation - the cracks, what was not working really started to show leading to the ultimate demise 6 months later. Cyclical truly! Now this is not something to be scared of but aware think of it like when you see the tower card pop out when doing tarot (more on that later). I know you know, who hasn't seen that card and put it back in to reshuffle or have fear and wish you didn't pull cards haha I certainly have an am really practicing this year not to jump to conclusions with the cards I see coming out. Who is Lord Shiva? Shiva the deity In India at one point there was a celebration or significant spiritual moment everyday because I guess they wanted to celebrate every day of life and the different purposes of life which is a fun fact. Nowadays truly it Shivaratri is one of the most significant events in India's spiritual calendar. In Hindu tradition, Lord Shiva represents destruction and renewal—the force that clears away the old to make way for the new. He is often depicted as sitting in deep meditation, symbolising inner peace and awareness. Shiva's Origin Story Shiva's origin story is vast, layered, and deeply symbolic, woven into Hindu mythology as a representation of transformation, destruction, and divine stillness. He is known as the supreme yogi, the lord of time, and the force that dissolves what is no longer needed so that new creation can emerge. Unlike other deities, who are often depicted in palaces or adorned with riches, Shiva is an ascetic who meditates in the mountains, covered in ashes, with matted hair and a third eye that sees beyond illusion.

Flow - Vietnam Retreat May 2025 Recharge and Renew - Bali Retreat August 2025 Message Phi on Instagram Email Phi The cynicism of men Hey, beautiful souls, and welcome back to the Grow Through It Podcast with Phi Dang (that's me). With Valentine's Day around the corner, I know this time of year can bring up all kinds of emotions—love, longing, frustration, and maybe even cynicism. You might be thinking, ‘Where are all the good men?' or ‘Why does everyone else seem to find love but me?' Or maybe you're in a relationship and you're unhappy or even if you are, aside from your partner or a few friends perhaps you've lost your faith in men. If that sounds familiar, this episode is for you. My own personal example of good men This episode came to me like a lightning bolt and the urge to do it perhaps because I am on my own journey. I came out of a relationship last year and it was challenging to be honest with you and it tested my good faith in men through my own projections. Recently I had an incident with my car at the beginning of the year going 100km an hour towards the beach down south here luckily on a country road because I must have run over something and it shredded my tire. I mean shredded. Only the central metal bit left. I panicked because I have no idea how to fix a tire, I was in the middle of no where, what was I to do? I kid you 5 minutes later, a man pulled over to help me. He was in his SUV with like 4 children and without any hesitation helped me. I was so grateful and he said to me, I wanted to show my children this is what good men do, good humans really. I want to especially show my boys what it is to be a good man and I did the very thing I would do for my daughters and want other men should they be in your situation. Honestly it moved me to tears. With my spare tyre in fact I got to the petrol station to sort it out because the rear end of my car came off and unexpectedly two men which I would stereotypically class as “bikies” helped me they were again so sweet and gave me a specific tape for cars in case something else happened when they left. From that moment I've had really lovely interactions with men, I mean to the point of a nice man randomly buying me a coffee and pastry the day I had to take me car in for a service all stressed. Why women don't believe in good men: disappointment and hurt Many women feel disillusioned about love, especially if they've been hurt or let down before. Maybe you've given your heart to someone who didn't handle it with care. Maybe you've been strung along, ghosted, or left wondering why you weren't "enough" for someone to stay. Or maybe you've witnessed relationships around you that only rein forced the idea that love is hard, unreliable, or even painful. Over time, these experiences can build up, creating an invisible wall between you and the kind of love you truly desire. Social media, men suck and no good men are out there And then there's social media—a place where heartache is turned into entertainment. Everywhere you look, there are jokes about how "men ain't sh*t," how modern dating is a dumpster fire,

I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.Brad Crowell 0:54 Welcome back to the Be It Till You See It interview recap. Brad here again today with a very special guest of ours, who, if you've been listening over the last couple of weeks, she's joined us, stepping in for Lesley, Clare Solly. Clare is one of Lesley's, yeah, welcome back. Clare is one of Lesley's besties. They go way back to just after college they got a chance to work together, and they started a shoe company together then you guys had a blog together when you were living across the country, all the things. I mean, I don't know, I feel like I might have, you might have been one of the first people I was introduced to when I ever met Lesley, even though I think you were already in New York at that point. Clare Solly 1:27 Yeah, I was, yeah, yeah. Brad Crowell 1:29 Pretty cool. I think it's amazing. So basically, Clare is an actress, actor. She's an author. She's Lesley's slingshot friend from New York City all the way back in episode 19, and today I have the pleasure of having Clare join me to talk about Mark Collins. We're going to dig into that transformative convo that Lesley had with Mark on our last episode. If you have not yet listened to that, feel free to pause us now go back and listen to that. And actually you might want to listen to it twice. It was like nuggets of wisdom, like boom, boom, boom, kept coming and to the point where I was like, can I just rewind 30 seconds and let him say that again and rewind 30 seconds, I mean, it was pretty.Clare Solly 2:06 I rewound. Get your finger ready on the rewind button.Brad Crowell 2:10 Well, Clare, tell us about today. Clare Solly 2:12 Today is January 23rd and I'm very excited about this one. It is National Clashing Clothes Day. Brad Crowell 2:20 I'm so excited. I love that. Hold on. I was just reaching for something that I could clash with. So I want to put on my blue and green hat at the same time.Clare Solly 2:27 Although, you know, that's complimentary, but, oh, but yes, but, yeah, fantastic, beautiful. I tell everyone sometimes I dress like a kindergartner because I'm like, I want to wear that shirt and these shoes and those pants and this too, too. And sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. So National Clashing Clothes Day is the fourth Thursday of January every year, mark it in you calendars and people are encouraged to dress in head to toe clashing clothes anything neutral, like a black, a gray, a white, not allowed today. Brad Crowell 3:00 Yeah, no dice. That's a no go. Clare Solly 3:03 No go. Brad Crowell 3:04 Burn it.Clare Solly 3:04 Have fun with your clothes. Make people ask questions. Why not? And mix colors, prints, textiles, be clashtastic. Go for it. Brad Crowell 3:13 Clashtastic. I love it. Well, y'all, why don't you be clashtastic with us in Cambodia, we're going back in just a few weeks. We'll be there at end of February. We've got to retreat, but we have another one coming up in October of this year. But before we get into this convo that Lesley had with Mark Collins, we have an audience question. And the audience question is Lesley asking Clare directly, do you do a handwritten or do you do a digital calendar? Love Lesley.Clare Solly 5:58 It feels crazy that this question was being asked of me by day, I daylight as an executive assistant, so my life is a calendar. Brad Crowell 6:06 Don't tell your boss, that's your daylighting. Clare Solly 6:09 Yeah, huh? Brad Crowell 6:10 So don't tell your boss, it's only daylighting.Clare Solly 6:12 Oh, yeah, I'm in it to win it. I'm here for you always. But yeah, I mean, I work on a calendar, so I am 100% digital, almost to my detriment, because among the many things I do, I run a couple of theater companies. And so it's like, there's a theater company calendar and Clare Solly's calendar. And then I have a Bookstagram calendar, rewind to the last episode recap if you want to talk about Bookstagram. Brad Crowell 6:35 Oh yeah. Clare Solly 6:36 And then I have, like, my personal whatever calendar, and every grand once in a while I catch myself up and I don't cross calendars, but yeah, thank goodness that they all integrate these days and then I'm good at color coding. Brad Crowell 6:48 You're right on the money there. The color coding is the secret because we live exactly the same way. Because, I've got my personal calendar, then I have my work calendar, then I have a Brad and Lesley shared personal calendar, then a Brad and Lesley shared work calendar, and then Lesley has her personal calendar and her work calendar, right? And we are sharing two of those, but we've got all of it, and that's just our stuff. Then we have all the things that we do with a company. We've got this calendar and that calendar and those you know, when we brought on our executive assistants, the first thing we had to do was debrief why it's such a crazy (inaudible) thing, but it's a system that works, and color coding is the secret. I can visually just identify what's happening in my day, generally. That's for the win. But that wasn't the question, do you do a handwritten calendar? Clare Solly 7:37 I have. Above my desk at home, I have a handwritten calendar. Brad Crowell 7:42 Okay. Clare Solly 7:43 That I put, it's funny, I put anything I have that's fun on. So when I'm at work, I can look up and be like, oh, I'm traveling in 10 days, or oh, I have theater tickets next week. Brad Crowell 7:56 Nice. Clare Solly 7:57 So the handwritten calendar is for the fun stuff (inaudible). Brad Crowell 7:59 Special occasions. (inaudible). That's a great idea. Clare Solly 8:03 Or both. Brad Crowell 8:04 Yeah, how about that? Both. I think that's great. Okay, amazing. Stick around. We'll be right back. We're going to talk about Mark Collins. Okay, let's talk about Mark Collins. Mark is the founder of Freedom for Life and author of Life Mastery: Living Life by Design, Not by Default. It's a leadership guide that empowers individuals to unlock their true potential with a mission to help people overcome imposter syndrome and align with their authentic selves. Mark offers actionable strategies for mastering thoughts, words and actions. Inspired by his own transformative journey, he equips clients to live with intentionality. I think it's amazing.Clare Solly 8:43 I love that. Such a good word, intentionality. I loved everything he said in this. Again, it's the gift that keeps on giving. I'm gonna go listen to it again, like I'm gonna bookmark it and listen to it when I'm feeling, you know, down and out. But I loved that he talked about imposter syndrome and identity sabotage and that you can't success away imposter syndrome or anxiety, or any of those other things that we do. It was one of those, yeah, of course, duh. But also, like brain explode moments. And he emphasized that success is amazing, but it's a poor substitute for identity. You are not your success. It's what comes from you being you. I love that. Rather than chasing that external validation, he encouraged us to ground ourselves in our authentic selves, and I feel like that's sort of the journey that I'm on right now. So this one rang so true to me. I was so excited that you asked me to recap them, because often I'll listen to them and I'm talking back during the recaps. I'm like, yeah, I totally agree. Brad Crowell 9:49 That's awesome. Clare Solly 9:50 And I'll probably listen to this recap and agree with both of us here. Brad Crowell 9:53 Yeah. You're like, I agree with that point that I made. Clare Solly 9:56 Yeah, yeah. And speaking of agreeing, I felt like I was kind of on the edge of my seat when Lesley asked him is imposter syndrome beneficial? And I was like and then makes fun. And I was like, wait, is that, like, maybe I'm doing this right or wrong all along? (inaudible) There's no healthy imposter syndrome, because what imposter syndrome says is I'm not qualified for where I'm at.Brad Crowell 10:23 Yeah, it's like this own perspective. I used to do this when I was working at the tech company. Y'all have heard me talk about this over the years that I worked for a tech company, and it was like this crazy, chaotic environment, and it was basically survival of the fittest. If you could get along and you could figure out how to get money for your project in this startup house, then you could survive. And I'm good at negotiating stressful situations that I'm also really good at operational catastrophes. When something blows up, because somehow, inevitably, it blew up all the freaking time there, I could figure out the way through. But the entire time that I was doing this really high wire rope act, the story I was telling myself is, I'm just a musician. I don't even know why I'm here. I would never get paid this if I went and worked somewhere else, so I'm gonna stay even though it wasn't that awesome. There were definitely moments of awesome, but as a whole, it was a challenging experience. But the story I told myself is I would never be hired to do this job anywhere else, and this is my opportunity to do it. So I'm just gonna do it. You know and that sucks. Clare Solly 11:24 Yeah. I feel like we all sort of have a story like that too. That was me when I was in the event planning world, like I'm never gonna get this experience. I need to be here and dig in and live this life and be this person, live this life for right now. Because, you know, it's not. Brad Crowell 11:39 Yeah, well, you know, I'm just theater kid, or I'm just a, I'm a trombone player. Like, what am I doing running a company, you know? And so I totally get that. What I also found amazing was his idea about success. He said for one of his clients, success was like, relief. Clare Solly 11:54 Yeah. Brad Crowell 11:55 That was like, whoa, is that me? Holy cow. Because you've built this expectation of success, and what does it mean to be successful? And when you close the deal, because he was a real estate guy, and he's, like, closing a multimillion dollar deal, and like, the next multi million dollar deal he does, he felt like he's just lucky to get it again. And that goes really hand in hand with that imposter syndrome. And kind of amazing. One thing that he said, that I thought was really interesting was really interesting, was he introduced this concept of Life Mastery. Clare Solly 12:25 Yeah. Brad Crowell 12:25 And he said, you know when you live from who you're created to be, when you know who you are, when you live from that, that is the easiest life possible. Okay? And that sounds pretty straightforward, pretty obvious, but that's like, pretty profound. He explained that you're created to be operating at your highest level. When you're not doing what you're meant to be doing, then you're not able to operate at your highest level. The reason I know this is because I built websites. I am not a developer, but could I do it? Yeah. (inaudible) But every time I would, yeah, but every time I'd have to go back and relearn what I should have already known. And like, you know, it was just always a push, always a struggle. So, like, there's the things of, can you do it? Yes. Should you be doing it? Maybe not. And I think when you're doing the can I be doing it? Yes. Should I be doing it? Yes. Now you're living in where you're meant to be, you know, and that is going to really put you in this position where you can live a life, the easiest life that you're meant to be. Things are going to feel like they're flowing. It's also going to be a lot more fun. We've talked about this a million times, if we've ever talked about it, but StrengthsFinders, CliftonStrengths now is what they call it, it allows you to identify your strengths, and when you're operating in your strengths, things feel like they flow. They feel more enjoyable. You feel like you're winning. And so when people come into our company, we have them take this quiz, and the reason we do is because it really guides us as a company to know where is this person going to succeed, and it will help them feel more fulfilled. They're going to be happier doing their job, and they're going to do their job well, because it's going to feel innate to them. That's a recipe for success there. You know, he said it contrasts with life management. And this was another interesting thing he mentioned, where he's like, you know, I've done a lot of self help things. And he said what it often becomes is this series of rules. It helps me in the change in the moment, but it doesn't help me long term, because then it becomes another rule. I have to live my life by long term, and that doesn't feel like it flows. And so I thought that was really interesting, because he said that doesn't sound like transformation or freedom, it sounds like exhaustion. And I was like, wow, that's true, because now you're living this regimented life that you have to do because this is what the thing was so just again, really fascinating stuff.Clare Solly 14:50 Yeah, I mean, I think you, Lesley and I, I feel like we have some version of this conversation every time we get together, the good tired versus the bad tired. You're always tired at the end of the day. Because you've had a day, but if you're doing things that fulfill you, that make you happy, and you're living your authentic life, and you're not sitting in this imposter syndrome, you're not working really hard, you're not pushing against a wall, as opposed to, like the bad tired when you're just exhausted and you're just banging your head against a wall and going in the wrong direction, working in those companies, or working in those jobs that you're not right for, you're not fulfilling, or you're sitting in imposter syndrome and you're continually trying to reach for success when you're just questioning yourself over and over and over. So I'm going to listen to this podcast, he knows so much. Brad Crowell 15:36 Yeah, absolutely. Well, stick around. We'll be right back to dig into those, Be It Action Items, with Mark Collins. All right, welcome back. I said, with Mark Collins, I should have said, from Mark Collins, let's get into it. Let's talk about those. Be It Action Items. What bold, executable, intrinsic or targeted action items can we take away from Lesley's convo with Mark? I'll jump right in. He said hey, start with an "I Am" statement.Clare Solly 16:00 It's harder than you think it is. Brad Crowell 16:02 Yeah, I haven't done this exercise yet, but this is really intriguing to me. An "I Am" statement, who you are, apart from your things, who you think you'll become. I used to nerd out on this kind of stuff when I was in my teens, because I used to like network as my job. I used to intentionally ask people, What do you do? What is the first thing that they always say? Clare Solly 16:24 Their job. Brad Crowell 16:24 Their job. 100% of the time, people would answer with their job when I ask, "What do you do?" Then the conversation would wind down. And then they would ask me, what do you do? And I'd say, I sleep a lot. And they would go, what? Because I wasn't answering with my job, right? And it was like this mental game that I used to, I used to laugh so hard about it, because I realized that that is how we define ourselves. And I thought, when I was listening to this with Mark, I thought, man, this is so poignant, because he says, when you define yourself apart from your things or your job or your work, it's going to help you determine who you are instead of what you do by who you are versus what you do, right? And then he said, once you figure out this "I Am" statement, it becomes your affirmation, right? And you're going to use it to align with who you are. And he said do the affirmations multiple times a day, because life happens multiple times a day. And I thought that was also funny. That's also true is we have these different moments of I mean, if I look at my day, I wake up and I have my morning routine that I really enjoy, right? And I do my morning routine, and that feels like a whole separate day from then I'm like, alright, now I gotta get focused. I'm gonna spend three, four hours, and then I'm gonna, like, eat my lunch, and then hopefully I can get back in the groove and have another three, four hours before the rest of the day, right? So, you know, it is funny how it breaks up into these blocks. He emphasized, the more you tell yourself the truth, the more you will see yourself show up as a hero, that you're created to be.Clare Solly 17:53 Loved, that. Loved that. I love that we're rebranding, or we're reusing hero. Because right now, there's so many hero movies, we're all kind of relating to that, like we all kind of put in our cape the little girl with her arms out and being Wonder Woman, you know, Wonder Woman pose that was big a couple years ago. I love this, because hero, even though it's conceptual, it's something we can all tap into. We can all make it real in our lives. We all can be a hero, and that's also something we can strive for. Like, being a hero feels like anti-imposter, right? So I just, I love. Brad Crowell 18:30 That's great. That's a great way to connect the dots there. I really like that. You know, the hero is clearly confident and knows what the hell they're doing, you know, or they should, right, in the way that we envision a hero. You know, there's the anti-hero who maybe doesn't know what they're doing, but the hero, if you think of Superman, you think of the guy who knows how to solve the problem, or, you know, Batman or whatever. So, yeah, I love that. I love that. Clare Solly 18:53 I also had to laugh a little bit because I knew I was coming on and doing this recap with you. And I know you and Lesley talk about being like, one woo, two woo. And I was like, this is like the scientific side of woo. Brad Crowell 19:05 I knew there's a reason I connected with this guy.Clare Solly 19:11 I also loved the identifying moments when you are minimizing who you are, or when you're maximizing the issues and challenges that you have in your life. We all do that, like Lesley and I've talked about how we still feed drama into our lives because we knew how to deal with drama, or when you actually can do something, but yet, there's so many people around you that have done it before you or better than you, but they've paved the way. So what am I doing here? Well, I am my authentic self, and I am coming here because I have something to say, or I have a unique perspective, or I just have joy in whatever this is. So let me share with you my little corner of the world that spoke to me and I also loved the affirmations part. I loved the "I Am" statements. It was funny. As soon as I listened to it, I was like, I am, and I went right to job, right to job. And I was like, no, no. We've worked on this before, and my "I Am" statements are that I'm a creator and I'm a muse. Because I like to create things. I like to create stories. I like to create plays. I like to create environments where people find joy. And I also am a muse. I like to get together with people and talk through things and look at ideas and talk about books and pick apart things and go, how is this affecting us, and how are we putting this out into the world?Brad Crowell 20:39 I love it. I just decided my "I Am" statement. I, I'm creative, I am fun and I am happy. Clare Solly 20:45 I love this, because that's both, you know, in his sort of trajectory, It's something you are now and it's something you can do. Brad Crowell 20:57 Yeah and also, for me, it applies across what I'm passionate about, which is music, and what I do for work, which is run a company. I can be creative in music and be creative in the company, right? I can be fun in music and fun in the company, and I can be happy in music and happy in the company. When I first was talking about that, kind of had me feeling a little stuck. I like this "I Am" statement. We talk about "I Help" statements a lot when we're coaching our clients, because you got this elevator pitch of what you say to someone else, but we never talk about the elevator pitch that we say to ourselves. So I love this. Clare Solly 21:34 Yeah, it's so empowering and it can change, too. Like, it can also point you in different directions.Brad Crowell 21:40 Yeah, he had another example. I find quality answers for every problem I walk through, or I'm going to align my words and actions with the things I am and the things that I do. This week, we're joined by entrepreneur, speaker, and author, Anthony O'Neal. You may know him from his incredibly popular YouTube channel or, maybe, from his previous book, "Debt-Free Degree." But Anthony's back with a new book called "Take Your Seat at the Table," which is all about taking control of your life, money, and future. If you're unfamiliar with his work, he's not your typical financial guru. He's a self-made entrepreneur who went from being homeless to building a 7-figure business, and he's bringing his wisdom back to the communities that are systematically left out of the financial conversation. This episode is for anyone tired of the same old financial advice and ready to take control of their future. Anthony challenges us to ditch the idea that wisdom comes solely from age and embrace the power of lived experience. He urges us to kill the comfort that's holding us back and encourages us to build our own tables and then invite in the people who truly align with our vision. What we get into:The catch-up: We start this conversation like you would a chat with a good friend. We talk about what life is like now that his YouTube channel is booming, and we even get a little glimpse of his journey to find love Challenging the status quo: We dig into the question, "Why should I listen to him?" and explore what it means to gain wisdom from life experiences over traditional credentialsLeaving comfort behind: We dissect why so many folks are stuck in comfortable situations when they're clearly meant for moreFormal vs. practical learning: Now that he's working on his MBA, Anthony shares his thoughts on the value of a formal education alongside "street smarts" and why that balance is key to successHis new book, "Take Your Seat at the Table:" You can't have a financial conversation without addressing ownership, power, and the folks who have a seat at YOUR table. We talk about why kicking out the wrong people is just as important as inviting in the right ones. How his recent trip to Ghana reframed his perspective on the Black community and the role it plays in building wealth. The future of making money: We discuss using platforms like YouTube and podcasts to build a better economic future.Links: Keep up with Anthony on his website, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTokGet his new book: Take Your Seat at The Table: Live and Authentic Life of Abundance, Wellness and Freedom (Jan. 14, 2025) Connect with Julien and Kiersten on our website, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.Join our email list to get updates from us, opportunities for discounts, freebies and a quick rundown on the relevant financial and career news impacting your life.
