Welcome to episode 9 of Stayin Alive with Jesse Smith, a podcast about creative people how they weather the storm of a life of the road.Today’s guest is one of the reasons I started this podcast in the first place. A couple of years ago I was given the opportunity to go on a speaking tour as an interviewer which was a brand new discipline for me and it resulted in two tours on the road with one of the world’s greatest guitarists. He is undoubtably one of the best ever rock and roll side men, having played with David Bowie on and off for almost Forty years and also on John Lennon’s last two studio albums. He’s also written and recorded with Glen Matlock, Robert Smith, David Coverdale and Jim Diamond to name a few. We’ve become really good friends over the last few years and I really hope you enjoy our conversation. Today’s guest is the one and only - Earl Slick.Next’s week’s guest is another incredible guitar player and one of my favourite episodes I’ve recorded, she is best known for playing guitar for Kate Nash and Get Cape Wear Cape Fly and also helped create and incredible charity called Girls Rock London and is one of the mot inspirational women I know, so make sure you tune in for my conversation with Linda Buratto. You can also find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/stayinalivepod/ and you go one step further and head over to Apple Podcasts and give us a 5* review. This was a Jesse Smith Production.Music by Neal X, Mark Garfield and Me.If you or your business is interested in sponsoring the show, or if you’d just like to say ‘hi’ you can get in touch by emailing stayinalivepod@gmail.comSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/stayin-alive-with-jesse-smith. Zak Cochrane is the National Organiser at Love Music Hate Racism, a platform set up in 2002 to challenge the growth of the far right. Born out of the Rock Against Racism movement, which goes back to the 1970s, Love Music Hate Racism organise gigs that allow people of all backgrounds to mix, over a shared love of music, and empower the anti-racist message by showing how we have more in common with our neighbours than differences, which racists seek to exploit.
