With the team's outback getaway driver KO-ed outside the toilet, the team find themselves stranded in the outback, 45 minutes before their flight from "Australia Airport" leaves. Time is of the essence, and in this special the solvers will have a shared 45-minutes to solve across both parts of the Outback Odyssey arc. But before they can get back on the road they'll have to get through dozens and dozens of gnomes... in various state of undress (Jamie's exact words, not mine). Somewhere among these gnomes the key to escape lies. It's time to lock in and- "Gnome more Mr. Nice Guy".

This is the final week of our two-week summer break, where we recharge our puzzle batteries. But we won't leave you empty handed - here's a director's cut edition of a classic episode with new editing, music, SFX and commentary. This episode initially aired a little later than normal due to some technical gremlins, which meant it didn't get a fair shake before the following week's episode came in and pushed it out of the feed (people love that fresh content, yo). And it's a particularly fiendish puzzle from Mike that also uses a hefty amount of learning theory. Mike pulled a sneaky on us and had us doing a team building exercise (le gasp!). The original recording was 2 hours long. So as a special treat, here's a re-edited version along with the puzzle debrief and additional commentary from me (Jamie). Grab a glass of warm urine and join us as we attempt to escape the desert with a surprisingly Northern sounding Bear Grylls. Will we select the correct five items to enable our escape? And what's with that Morse Code, anyway? Special thanks to Patreon supporters Rachel, Howlfin and Will for making this episode possible. But we won't leave you empty handed - here's a director's cut edition of a classic episode with new editing, music, SFX and commentary. Sometimes, an episode as such an impact on us that we talk about it months or even years later. Groundfarce is one of those episodes. What started out as a simple spatial puzzle quickly devolved into a mud slinging match with zingers such as "Left isn't a cardinal direction!" and "I've left the shed and my eyes appear to have stopped working". Jan spricht in Andeutungen. Basti hoert in Subtexten.

Part One features Jackie, Sarah, Jon Paul, Erik, and Mick, some of the members of the band, as they reflect on Roberta's legacy, how the project came together, and what it's like preparing for a live show as a group of longtime friends, collaborators, and fans. This is the first time they'll share a stage as one lineup. Part Two brings in producer Sean Parker and Error 47 member Troels Pleimert, along with a return from Mick. This half dives deep into the creative and logistical work behind the Kickstarter campaign, the emotion of translating a digital legacy into a live experience, and how the band's shared love of FMV and community drives the whole effort. Part Three closes with a personal segment featuring Roberta's sibling, Ames, who shares their perspective on the concert, the campaign, and the legacy their sister leaves behind. This week on the Classic Gamers Guild Podcast, we step into the afterlife, but not the peaceful kind. Anna, one half of the CGG Podcast, sits down with Rubén López, one half of Aruma Studios, to talk about their upcoming point-and-click adventure Shadows of the Afterland. If their debut Intruder in Antiquonia was about memory and resisting modernity, this one's about being dead before you're even born, and trying to change your destiny. Rubén pulls back the curtain on designing a supernatural murder mystery set in 1960s Madrid, building an afterlife where bureaucracy still reigns, and giving players control of so many unique characters through a tactical possession mechanic. We dig into how Galician folklore seeps into the game's design, what it takes to rebuild an entire custom engine from scratch, and why full voice acting is now part of the plan. From puzzle design philosophy to the realities of running a two-person studio, this conversation is a deep dive into ambitious indie development, ghostly storytelling, and the fine art of making possession both strategic and fun. Plus, hear about the game's brand-new demo update, massive performance boosts, and plans for release on PC and Nintendo Switch. Play our adventure game! The Phantom Fellows is out now! This week, Anna runs a solo mission straight into the fog, Fogtown, that is. She's joined by Sean Parker, the puppet-wrangling, genre-bending mastermind behind Fogtown, the only detective story brave enough to ask: what if a puppet version of Sherlock Holmes had imposter syndrome, a spatula sword, and a head that occasionally falls off? We talk about how the pandemic turned a scrappy puppet TV show idea into a fully modular FMV game with real performances, rotating virtual sets, and actors from Phantasmagoria, Disco Elysium, and Contradiction. Sean spills the tea on a mystery publisher who ghosted harder than a Tinder date, how to keep a puppet's head attached during a fight scene, and why FMV deserves a weirder, brighter comeback. Plus: a tribute to the irreplaceable Roberta Vaughan, who championed lovely indie projects like Fogtown long before the rest of us caught on. Wishlist A Rum Case In Fogtown! Maniac Mansion, The Secret of Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones und Baphomets Fluch kannten damals beinahe alle Gamer. The Adventures of Bryan Scott veröffentlichen.

Welche Katastrophe improvisiert Andreas? I think some of the puzzles in Monkey Island a little tedious, but even with one eye I can see how people love this game. It really is funny, and the humour and clever writing offset the occasional frustration I experienced while trying to kill pirates with root beer. One good monkey deserves another, so my guest this week is my buddy Daniel (Stpd_Mnky). He likes this game more than I do, and while we made not have felt the same way about the sword fighting system or how to make a soup or whatever the fuck it is with the cereal, we had a good time laughing at some of the dialogue and puzzles. And we're still not sure what the secret of said island is...And before we point and click, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, we HAD to talk about the Switch 2. How do those of us that dislike multiplayer games get into them? And I love Bioshock, but how do I feel about the sequels??Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 PC classics: King's Quest VI, Day of the Tentacle, and Sam and Max. Learn more about your ad choices.
