The film in question is an animated fantasy movie titled Kpop Demon Hunters. Not only was the movie a massive success but Netflix teamed up with the live event company AEG Presents for a global concert tour that was announced in May of this year. The dates haven't been confirmed yet but it's widely assumed that the tour will launch in 2027. As reported by Complex, Demon Hunter filed a lawsuit against Netflix, Netflix Studios and AEG Presents in California yesterday (Aug. 18) claiming "trademark infringement, false designation of origin and unfair competition" over the Demon Hunter name, which they have gone by for the last 25-plus years.” (Loudwire)

On episode 218 of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Josh Overton and Bobby Spencer of Hollow Wake! Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Hollow Wake is a rock/metalcore band that was born in early 2022. Featuring band members that have roots ranging from punk, emo, hardcore, and rock, Hollow Wake has their own unique blend of modern rock, with mental health as the focus. Since their inception, Hollow Wake has made a name for themselves in the Music City and beyond. With influences ranging from Dayseeker, to The Plot In You, Beartooth, My Chemical Romance, and Silverstein, Hollow Wake has crafted a sound that's both emotional and powerful. This versatility has been on display with their 2026 releases, which range from the introspective, Chester Bennington-esque chorus in "So Cold," to the heavy, grindy nature of their latest single "Face This." Having built a solid fan base on the strength of their songs and live shows alongside the likes of The Word Alive, UNWELL, CKY, Attack Attack!, and Dragged Under, among others, 2026 is shaping up to be Hollow Wake's biggest year yet. After dropping numerous new singles, as well as reworked and reimagined versions of previous releases, Hollow Wake announced in August that they're getting ready to release their sophomore album entitled "Dying To Be Whole." The LP was created in collaboration with Drew Bender of UNWELL. The record tackles themes of grief, healing, identity, and personal growth, a chapter a Hollo Wake calls their heaviest and most dynamic to date. Additionally, Hollow Wake will be performing their first ever headlining show on Labor Day, 9/7 at Hit Parader in Nashville. The free event will feature Hollow Wake playing "A Season to Bloom" in its entirety. In this episode, Josh and Bobby of Hollow Wake talk with Mike about the songwriting process, lyrical inspiration, and production on their new releases, some deets on "Dying To Be Whole," and more. This episode also features the aforementioned "Face This" from Hollow Wake, available where you get your music! Follow Hollow Wake on Instagram @wearehollowwake. We also got a sneak peek at Andrew's upcoming book Emo Revival: Community, DIY, and Rebirth in Post-Hardcore and Emo (spoilers: Foxing mentioned). Also up for emo-scussion (that's discussion by Carly Rae Jepsen): A furtive review of what nostalgia feels like per Carl Jung, the world's worst Pokémon analogy is deployed and every single emo-adjacent band is named along with the year of their albums and a horoscope of their fates. Bands referenced in this episode include: Paramore, Foxing (a lot) Modern Baseball, Algernon Cadwallader, Hop Along, Joyce Manor, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! "Why do you keep going to the well hoping that you're going to find MCR-flavored water there? There's nothing there, man. MCR is not going to create anything they don't have to." Brian and Lizzie tackle the chaotic realities of the summer touring season. The conversation kicks off with a roasting of the intense heat waves plaguing European festivals, which quickly segues into a deep dive on the viral Pinkpop Festival drama. The hosts dissect the hilarious clash between fans of pop princess Zara Larsson and the heavy-hitting German metalcore outfit Electric Callboy and the bizarrely foul hygiene habits of some modern festival-goers. Switching gears from live show chaos to recorded music, the duo breaks down the internet's collective, desperate hope for a fifth My Chemical Romance album. Evaluating the band's recent move to reopen their classic forums, Lizzie shares the community's frustration with cash-grabs, while Brian drops a harsh truth bomb: with four legendary albums already carrying their legacy, MCR has absolutely no obligation to release new music. To wrap up the episode, the hosts take a nostalgic trip down memory lane to critique the legacy of Pop Goes Punk style tracks, weighing whether modern TikTok covers hold a candle to the scene-defining execution of classic alternative covers.

That is JT Woodruff, the ultimate emo wife guy. In this episode of the Make Me a Fan series, Lizzie selects five tracks from Hawthorne Heights to prove to Brian that the band is more than just early-2000s scene stereotypes. They discuss the band's history, their modern evolution, and whether Brian is ready to join the fandom. If you had five songs to convince your friend to love your favorite band, what would you choose? In this episode of the Make Me a Fan series, Lizzie tries to convert Brian into a Hawthorne Heights believer. Despite being in the thick of the mid-2000s scene boom, Brian originally wrote the band off as a skeptic. To prove him wrong, Lizzie brought 5 specific tracks spanning their entire discography to see if she can change his mind: "Ohio Is For Lovers," "Niki FM," "Saying Sorry," "End of the Underground," and "Cardinal." We break down the undeniable edge-core grip of "Ohio Is For Lovers," revisit their Victory Records TRL era with "Saying Sorry," and look at their modern evolution. Plus, we talk about the nostalgia of the local scene, whether "Ohio Is For Lovers" was destined to be the soundtrack to every Matt Cutshall meme on the internet, and why frontman JT Woodruff is the ultimate "emo wife guy."
