In these final words from Paul to Titus, we hear again the refrain to devote ourselves to good works. This devotion is not just for the sake of doing good things, but it comes from a heart that has been radically transformed. Because of this, a transformed people devote themselves to gospel living and leave no room for divisiveness.
Message from Jared Raby on July 28, 2024
Motivation is a powerful force, whether it is a walk-up song during sports or someone giving a moving speech, we all desire to be motivated. For Christians, motivation helps us stay committed to doing good works. This happens through remembering our former selves and just how much God has saved us. As we engage our community with the gospel, we must remember our salvation and commit ourselves to good works.
Jerry, Scott, Papa Fred, Jared discuss the powerful way that the grace of the gospel actually makes us zealous for good works.

We know that God's grace is an absolute priority in each of our lives as believers, but we can forget that grace fits us with the extravagant means to be good toward others. Grace has not only transformed us in heart, the promise has readied us for life among believers, and even in an ugly world. So far in this book, with the exception of a brief reference to slaves to masters, Paul has focused in on family business – church stuff – the believer in relation to other believers. Today, he makes us uncomfortable as we learn about our call to be Christians toward those who we may not naturally like, and who may not like us in return.

What is the relationship between salvation and good works? There are two opposite errors that can be made. These are discussed in Titus 3, a passage preached by Brian Watson on November 28, 2021.
In this sermon, Pastor Mike teaches us that a church should be made up of multi-generational discipling relationships, with those relationships being inspired and empowered by the Gospel.

Good works are essential to the Christian life.
In this final sermon in this series on the book of Titus, we'll look at Paul's encouragement to devote ourselves to good works, distractions that are enemies of those good works, and Titus' example of good works. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. Do your best to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way; see that they lack nothing. And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful. All who are with me send greetings to you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.For more resources, visit https://www.ReasonableTheology.orgSupport the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/reasonabletheology)

Listen as we conclude our sermon series through Titus and understand the Biblical charge to “Do Good Works” as a result of the Gospel. CrossLife exists to be a Biblically-functioning church that seeks to multiply as a Gospel-centered, Christ-exalting, Disciple-making community.
Scott shows us that the purpose of the cross was not to make us lazy but to make us passionate to obey our Lord.
This week we are joined by Evangelist Dave Young. Dave is a friend of The Point Church and it is such a joy to have him share with us today. If you would like to know more about Dave Young, you can visit him online at www.evaneglistdaveyoung.com
In this episode, we're completing our study through the book of Titus, today in Titus 3:8-15. The focus is how to MAINTAIN good works. How do we keep doing what God has called for us to do? How do we even go beyond the maintenance-mode of cultural Christianity and truly ENJOY loving and serving the Lord? Two key verses are 3:8, "be careful to maintain good works" and 3:14, "and learn to maintain good works." We're not saved by our self-efforts or by merely doing good things, but God does have "good works" prepared for us to do for His kingdom and His glory.

Pastor Allen reminds us that good works are the gospel fruit of God's grace and mercy to us in Christ.
Do Good Things
Titus 3:1-81 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. 3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.SEMON NOTES

What Good are Good Works? (Titus 2:3-4)
We know that as Christians we are called to conform to Christ. I hope that this point is not something that we contend. We know that there are ethics in scripture that are binding on us. However, we can see that Mormans are very moral people as well. What makes our ethics so distinctive?
