This Sunday's Inspirational Message is: The Majesty and Mercy of God Psalm 8, penned by David, is a masterpiece—a song that captures the wonder of God's creation and the astonishing truth that He cares deeply for us. Picture David, the shepherd-king, lying under a vast night sky, stars twinkling above, his heart overflowing with awe. In just nine verses, he weaves together praise for God's glory and humility at God's love for humanity. This psalm isn't just poetry; it's a guide for how we live today, right here in Argyle, Minnesota. In today's sermon, we'll explore three life-changing truths: how to marvel at the glory of God's creation, how to embrace the sacred purpose He's entrusted to us, and how to cultivate a heart of gratitude for His constant care. You'll walk away with practical, actionable steps to bring these truths into your daily life—whether it's pausing to praise God in nature, serving His world with intention, or giving thanks even in tough seasons. * * * * * Once again, thanks for joining us in our time of worshiping the Lord through His Word! Pastor Bill talks about how true healing comes from Jesus, and that is how we move from a storm into a Kingdom climate.
Titus 3:5, "He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy." What a thunderbolt of truth strikes the heart from this glorious verse! In a world intoxicated with self-worth and self-promotion, God's Word cuts through the fog with divine clarity: "He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy." Salvation is not a wage paid for moral effort--it is a free and sovereign act of divine pity. The apostle Paul, writing to Titus, draws a sharp line between human righteousness and divine mercy. The contrast is absolute. We were not saved because of our works--not even the best of them. Our supposed righteousness, is but filthy rags in the sight of a thrice-holy God (Isaiah 64:6). Indeed, we were by nature dead in sin, enemies of God, incapable of any spiritual good (Romans 3:10-12; Ephesians 2:1-3). If salvation depended on anything in us, none would be saved. But praise be to God, salvation depends entirely on Him who is rich in mercy! Mercy is God's holy compassion flowing from His sovereign will--not His obligation. He is not moved by anything in the sinner, but only by what is in Himself--His love, His goodness, His eternal purpose. It was "because of His mercy" that He stooped down to rescue a lost and ruined people. Mercy sought us, mercy bought us, and mercy keeps us. Not our tears, not our prayers, not our repentance, not even our faith--none of these originate salvation. All are the fruit of God's mercy, not the root. This humbles the pride of man. It shuts every boasting mouth. It leaves us no ground to glory in ourselves. The only song we can sing is, "Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us--but to You

"The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy." Psalm 103:8Mercy is God's tender-hearted compassion toward the miserable and the guilty. It is the pity of a holy God stooping down to the helpless sinner--not because He must, but because He delights to. Mercy is the overflow of His eternal love—relieving the wretched, pardoning the guilty, and raising the fallen. From the beginning, God's mercy has been on display. It spared Adam and Eve in the garden. It delivered Israel from bondage in Egypt. It sent prophets to warn the rebellious nation. And in the fullness of time, it sent the Savior to redeem His people. Mercy is not a reluctant gesture—it is the joy of God's heart. "God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ!" Ephesians 2:4-5. God's mercy is not exhausted by repeated sins, nor limited by the depth of our guilt. The dying thief found mercy in his final breath—and so may any who call on the Lord.Yet God's mercy never sets aside His justice. It does not sweep sin under the rug—it satisfies God's justice. This is the wonder of the cross--where divine justice was upheld, and mercy was poured out. God did not overlook our sin—He condemned it in Christ. At Calvary, mercy and justice met; righteousness and peace kissed! Psalm 85:10If we have received such undeserved mercy, then how can we withhold it from others? Shall we, who have been forgiven much, remain unmerciful? Let us be as our Father—kind, compassionate, and forgiving. And let us never forget: we stand by mercy alone. Here is our hope and our song—that God delights in mer
God is consistently merciful, this is His nature. We see many instances in the Bible. In the story of Nineveh, in the psalms David wrote; God is Just, slow to anger and merciful in spite of the inconsistent nature of man. The ultimate show of His Mercy is in the salvation story. Now in prayers, when we see how helpless and frail we are as humans, we must rely on the mercy of God.Listen to this teaching on the merciful nature of God and how it plays out in prayer.

In this week's message, we explore how Jesus used parables—simple, surprising, and often unsettling stories—to open our eyes to a radically different way of living under God's reign by focusing on The Prodigal Son and The Good Samaritan. These timeless stories reveal the extravagant mercy of God—and challenge us to extend that same mercy to others, even those we might find difficult to love.

Mercy triumphs over judgment!
It could be argued the Aug 15th, 1840 is the 2nd most important moment in Christian History. Why is that?
Did God make a mistake when He entered into a covenant with the Children of Israel? How did the sacrificial system of the Old Testament reveal the grace and mercy of God? How did Jesus fulfill each of the different types of sacrifices? These are some of the questions Pastor Igor addresses in this inspiring message about God's grace and mercy for us.

In Genesis 20:1-18 Abraham sins in the same way he did in chapter 12. Rather than protect his wife, he lies by calling her his sister, which leads to her being taken by Abimelech to become his wife. This sin is all the worse because Sarah is about to give birth to Isaac, the promised seed. Abraham's actions, therefore, appear to jeopardize the promises of God. God, however, is merciful to Abraham and, as He did in Egypt, defends Sarah even when Abraham fails. All of this shows that God will always keep His promises. Isaac will be born as promised.

Everything is good to the degree to which it conforms to God, and everything is evil to the degree to which it does not conform to God.No attribute of God conflicts with any other attribute of God. He is as good and just when He rewards good as He is good and just when He recompenses evil with justice. If God is just, and the message of His severity against sin and His punishing of the guilty is clear, how then is the Christian message that God is justifying the unjust? The only answer is Mercy. God, in His divine mercy, decided to die on the cross for us.Listen to this message and learn about the Justice of God.

As we began in chapter 1, we saw that like Jonah, we run from God far more often than we care to admit or than we even realize.
