Your Sin Is Never Too Great for God; If You Return to God, He Will Return to You MESSAGE SUMMARY: We all sin, and sometimes you may perceive your sin to be so horrendous that you think your life is lost to God's willingness to forgive you; therefore, you believe that you are lost to God's Salvation. If you repent to God of your sins and return to God in your life, He will return to you. Whenever we fall into sin, do we repent and return to the Lord? Hopefully, our answer is: "I will, with God's help.". Our God wants us to return to Him because He loves us -- He is a covenant God. The Easter Season is still upon us and the Church calls us to celebrate the Ascension of the Lord. Many may have lost sight of what this feast can mean for us if we know how to look at it in the proper context. Our Lord not only rose from the grave, he rose from the earth as well!

In “He Will Return”, Rodney shares that Luke, a ministry partner with the Apostle Paul, painstakingly investigated the evidence about Jesus, and wanted to ensure there was a proper accounting of the life of Jesus, and subsequent events that could be passed on, that was trusted as a reliable source of truth. Luke briefly writes about an event known as, the Ascension of Jesus, which took place 40 days after the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. The Ascension marks the end of Jesus' earthly ministry, and the beginning of the churches ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit. It marked the return to His glory in Heaven, and exaltation to the right hand of God. It indicated the beginning of His work as High Priest. It allowed Him to prepare a place for us. Lastly, it set up the pattern of His return. Jesus is the Messiah, and He Will Return!

Jesus promises to return, and until he does he gave us the gift of Peace! When we have heart trouble all we need is to rely on that peace. HE WILL RETURN!

Your Sin Is Never Too Great for God; If You Return to God, He Will Return to You MESSAGE SUMMARY: We all sin, and sometimes you may perceive your sin to be so horrendous that you think your life is lost to God's willingness to forgive you; therefore, you believe that you are lost to God's Salvation. If you repent to God of your sins and return to God in your life, He will return to you. Whenever we fall into sin, do we repent and return to the Lord? Hopefully, our answer is: "I will, with God's help.". Our God wants us to return to Him because He loves us -- He is a covenant God. In Malachi 3:7, God admonishes His people who have turned away from Him; but God promises His return to His people if they return to Him: “From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts. But you say, ‘How shall we return?'". However, Malachi asks the question: “How shall we return?”. Joel 2:12-13 provides the Lord's answer to Malachi's question: “'Yet even now,'” declares the LORD, ‘return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments. Return to the Lord our God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and He relents over disaster.'”. The Lord wants to meet you where you are and to bring His Grace to you. In Matthew 26:27-28, Jesus confirms His Covent relationship with you: "And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, ‘Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.'”. If you return to God in your life, He will return to you.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Most merciful God I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. It is hard to watch the news. It's difficult to digest ALL the bad things happening in the world. Nations are at war...people are sick... and natural disasters are wreaking havoc. However...there is a message of HOPE in the Bible. Jesus will return...He WILL RETURN and there will be peace on Earth. It's not a band-aid for our broken world. It is a promise of perfect peace. Today, Pastor Dan talks about how YOU can place YOUR trust in that promised peace that only Jesus offers.

This week Pastor Matthew preached a special message called "A Prophetic Warning for Today", based on the minor prophet Malachi. Malachi was written 100 years after the Jews returned to Jerusalem from the Babylonian captivity and after the temple was rebuilt. While God's people had many hope-filled prophecies of a coming Savior, the exile had not turned their hearts back to God as He had intended. God's Objections with His People: 1.The Love of God was Doubted (Malachi 1:2-5) - They did not fully trust God anymore. Instead of obeying Him, they spent their time asking God WHY? 2.The Presence of the Lord Had Become a Burden to the People (Malachi 1:6-14) - The Israelites had made a covenant with God on Mt. Sinai, where they committed to be God's people and obey His commands. We have the laws in Leviticus and specific instructions for the temple because that sacrificial system was how a just and holy God could dwell in the midst of a sinful and unholy people. Malachi had strong words for the Israelites to remind them that they were called to be a people set apart for God, and they were called to live like it. 3. Unfaithfulness is Now the Norm (Malachi 2:10-16) - The Israelites had married women who did not believe in God and had divorced their believing wives. This activity was a direct reflection of the unfaithfulness in their relationships with God as well. Malachi reminds the people that there was a great cost to following God. 4. Sin Becomes Good and God is to Blame for Injustice (Malachi 2:17, 3:1-5) - The Israelites had begun to normalize sin. They had begun to call good evil and evil good. We live in a society that refuses to talk about sin - a society that has begun to blame God for the injustice caused by the sin of the world! 5. Return to God and He Will Return to You (Malachi 3:6-12) - Malachi calls the Israelites to turn from their wickedness, to return to God's commands, and to cultivate His presence. God promises to return to us as we return to Him. We need to be all-in for Him, the world needs us to be all-in for Him. God tells us that if we go all-in, He will reveal Himself to us. 6. Living as Though It Is Pointless to Live as God Asks (Malachi 3:13-14) - The Israelites thought there was no benefit to living righteously, but Malachi reminds them that obeying His commands is always worth it! Many Christians believe that the "great and awesome day of the Lord" and His return is imminent, and whether or not that is true, the church needs not to be afraid of His return. The return of Jesus is a day where darkness is pushed back and Jesus returns in victory! (Malachi 4:1-3)

Attacks on Christianity Today Can Challenge a Christian’s Faith, but Seek and Return to God and He Will Return to You   MESSAGE SUMMARY: The Lord wants to bring His grace and His peace into your life. Because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and God’s "New Covenant" with us, He can make us whole again. Jesus can bring His peace and His joy into our lives. Why will some, who have separated themselves from the Lord, not seek Him and return to Him? God tells you that, if some life event led you to turn away from Him, He will return to you when you return to  Him, no matter where you are, as God promises us in Joel 2:13b: “Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.”. Also, the God tells us in Isaiah 44:22: “I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.".   TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will think like Jesus . A message explaining four reminders God brings us in His Word (2 Peter 3:1-9) 1. Mockers and scoffers will come. 2. They deliberately forget. 3. God is waiting 4. HE WILL RETURN

This 3rd Sunday in Advent we turn to Malachi, the final prophet of the Old Testament Scripture, to look at what he says about the second coming of Christ. He is the Sun of Righteousness that will dawn. That day will be a day of destruction for all evil and those who have not believed and trusted in the Lord for for forgiveness and salvation; that is, those who have not believed in the covenant made by God through Christ's blood sacrifice and resurrection....for by their reluctance to believe, they are not part of that covenant. But, for those who believe, living in a world of injustice, danger, destruction, and evil brings about doubts and thoughts that Christ will not return. People in this world - including Christians at times - wonder about Christ's return, and how God can permit injustice and evil to continue in this world. Some dismiss the account of His return as fantastical, a myth or legend. Malachi's message is DO NOT BE MISCONCEIVED - misconceptions can be fatal, when the truth is that HE WILL RETURN. Listen in on God's promise for salvation to those who believe.

February 4 He Will Return I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (John 14:18)  He left us, and yet we are not left orphans. He is our comfort, and He is gone; but we are not comfortless. Our comfort is that He will come to us, and this is consolation enough to sustain us through His prolonged absence. Jesus is already on His way: He says, "I come quickly": He rides posthaste toward us. He says, "I will come": and none can prevent His coming, or put it back for a quarter of an hour. He specially says, "I will come to you"; and so He will. His coming is specially to and for His own people. This is meant to be their present comfort while they mourn that the Bridegroom doth not yet appear. When we lose the joyful sense of His presence we mourn, but we may not sorrow as if there were no hope. Our Lord in a little wrath has hid Himself from us for a moment, but He will return in full favor. He leaves us in a sense, but only in a sense. When He withdraws, He leaves a pledge behind that He will return. O Lord, come quickly! There is no life in this earthly existence if Thou be gone. We sigh for the return of Thy sweet smile. When wilt Thou come unto us? We are sure Thou wilt appear; but be Thou like a roe, or a young hart. Make no tarrying, O our God!
