The parable of the prodigal son is about redemption, restoration, and reconciliation, and has a lot to say to us about the love of God for us today. Although we make mistakes and do things that are wrong God the Father is waiting for us to return to Him. Jesus has already redeemed/saved us, we are part of God's family, He always wants to bring us back into a good relationship with Him God has given us free will, we can reject or walk away from Him if we want although this is painful for Him if we do.
(This podcast was previously recorded and published on August 31, 2020) Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... During the last days, many will grow cold. They are like dead men walking. And they do not realize they are asleep to the happenings around them. They grow cold to the Word of God and become numbed by that which they choose to see and hear. A woman in our church group tried to follow a scripture by her own wisdom rather than turning to God. This is deadly! I spoke with her about this. Several years ago, she gave some testimonies showing what the Spirit of God told her as HE taught her. But in the recent story, she was just following her own flesh (dead) and she didn't recognize what she was doing. We really have to work to stay awake ... for iniquity abounds today and if we allow ourselves to sit among church friends who will not follow God we will also fall asleep with them and become as dead, just going through the motions ... or living in fear and reacting to that fear. I've seen a woman in our church group be turned over to a reprobate mind by failing to follow the Spirit of God when HE brought ideas to her mind and by following her own fleshly ideas which were devilish. Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; I work at my salvation daily and even then I'm sometimes fearful and have need for extra meditation in scriptures to hold to the way of God. Some of you do nothing but attend church. And you don't even recognize when that church group goes in a way opposite to the scriptures in the New Testament Bible! You have no idea your name can be blotted out of the book of life. Jesus said: Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, == Matthew 24:12-13 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure (in the Word of God) unto the end, the same shall be saved. Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 2 Corinthians 5:9-11 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of HIM (God). 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; ...

Rabbenu Avraham, son of the Rambam, in his sefer HaMaspik L'ovdei Hashem, talks about different levels of bitachon . Previously, we discussed lackings in bitachon. Now we will discuss the positive. The first level he mentions is a person who hopes and yearns for the fulfilling of his needs from Hashem, because of Hashem's great mercy, although, at the same time, he's concerned and worried about getting what he wants because he thinks his sins might prevent Hashem's mercy. This means he believes in Hashem's mercy, and he knows he can receive it even though he's sinned, but he's still concerned that maybe he won't merit that mercy from Hashem. This, Rabbenu Avraham says, is called meyachel lechesed Hashem—hoping for the kindness of Hashem— and it's a great thing. David HaMelech talks about people like this throughout Tehillim and Rabbenu Avraham cites many of these pesukim. He says this type of person is given a title—he is called a Ba'al ma'alah zo. Someone who is on a certain level. What's the level? He is a Ba'al yir'ah v'tikvah/ He's a person who is both fearful and hopeful . That might sound like an oxymoron, but it's not. He's hopeful for Hashem's mercy, but fearful that maybe he won't merit His mercy. There are ways to receive Hashem's mercy. One of them, the Gemara says, is kol hamerachem al habriyot, merachamim alav min hashamayim—whoever has mercy on Hashem's creatures, has mercy upon him from Heaven. So we know Hashem has mercy, and we have to merit that mercy. It's not a contradiction to the fact that you get things through your bitachon, because you still need Hashem's mercy. Maybe I won't merit it. He brings a pasuk in Tehillim 147:11 that we've heard before, but he adds a beautiful explanation. It says: רוֹצֶ֣ה יְ֭הֹוָה אֶת־יְרֵאָ֑יו אֶת־הַֽמְיַחֲלִ֥ים לְחַסְדּֽוֹ / Hashem desires those who fear Him, those who hope for His kindness . The simple explanation (which we must always start with) is: Hashem is happy with those who fear Him—God-fearing people . And separately, He also likes people who hope for His kindness. That's definitely an explanation. But Rabbenu Avraham comes along and says no—they're not two different people. They're one person. They are yera'av/they are fearful. What are they fearful of? They're fearful of His punishment. And even though they are fearful of His punishment, at the same time, meyachalim lechasdo/they're hoping for His kindness. So it's a mixture of feelings, a mixture of emotions. And that's a wonderful level. That's level number one. Level number two is when beside hoping and yearning for Hashem to fulfill his needs, he also has what Rabbenu Avraham calls bikush penimi shebalev/an inner request of the heart— and an external one, on his tongue. He is actually asking. And that, he says, is called Doresh Hashem/He's searching…he quotes many pesukim like that… mevakesh panav korei el Hashem , Uvikashtem misham es Hashem Elokecha—you will search, you will ask for Him. This is a very interesting concept: He's taking a level of hope alone, where the person hasn't done anything yet. He didn't even ask. Hope doesn't mean I asked Hashem. I'm just hoping for the best. Hope is a wonderful thing— kivui , hope . But it has not yet turned into an actual, what we'll call, dialogue. It's just a hope. The next level is when I've taken that hope and turned it into bikush penimi—an inner request—and bikush chitzoni—an outer request , an expression of what's going on inside of me. And on this, he says, David HaMelech says ( and this is the pasuk that I say at the end of the Amidah, which starts with a ד , ends with a ד —my name is David. So I'll have an additional understanding tomorrow): דִּרְשׁ֤וּ יְהֹוָה֙ וְעֻזּ֔וֹ בַּקְּשׁ֥וּ פָנָ֖יו תָּמִֽיד׃ / Search for Hashem and His strength, constantly seek His presence. Which means: keep on asking, keep on yearning. He brings many pesukim for this point—that this is also included in a level of bitachon, the bitachon of bikush added on top of the hope. It's not separate. You can ask—just asking, that's a tefillah. That doesn't yet mean you have hope . You could ask without it coming from hope. But this is a bikush that's coming from hope. I'm looking for the connection, I'm looking for Hashem. Dorshei Hashem—those that are searching for Hashem, they will not be missing anything. Bakshu et Hashem, search for Hashem—kol anavei eretz, all those humble people. And he says there are endless pesukim talking about this level. So we have two levels: 1. The hope level 2. The prayer that is an expression of that hope.

We invest in the Lord and the things of God because that is where true gold is.Many times, laying up treasures in eternity means destroying treasures on the earth. The world may regard what we lose in our pursuit of God as loss, but for us, it is profit because we have found a treasure of inestimable value—and this treasure is worth more than anything. So, we run after Him: God.Listen to this sermon and be stirred in your walk with God and your consecration to God.
This week, Pastor Chris shared a powerful message about approaching the throne of God with confidence. In a world filled with overwhelming needs and countless ways to cope—whether through distraction, isolation, or even unhealthy escapes—it's easy to ignore our deeper need for grace. We often find ourselves rationalizing or justifying our mistakes instead of bringing them to God. But a central message in the book of Hebrews is this: in moments of need and repentance, we're invited to draw near to God boldly. No matter what we may believe about ourselves—or even about Him—God consistently meets us with love, grace, and mercy.
Main Idea: Listen to Christ because He is the glory-light and in Him God has spoken.1. Glory-light on the face of Moses: What did it mean?2. Glory-light in the face of Christ: What does it mean? How do we see it?

We see in the concept of baptism, how it symbolizes the great spiritual reality of being buried with Christ and raised to new life in faith. This symbolic act is to be understood as an essential part of the believer's identification with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We need to have the assurance that we if we are believers are complete in Christ and have been given everything we need for salvation to not seek to add external religious practices or ceremonies to the finished work of Christ on the cross. Paul emphasizes the power of faith and the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice for redemption and salvation. If you haven't you need to place your faith in Jesus Christ and repent and believe in the gospel. The primary message is that authentic faith in Jesus Christ, not religious rituals or external forms, is the essence of salvation and the foundation of the Christian life. These conclusions go way beyond the specific religious context of the Colossian church and have a universal application. The emphasis on true faith and spiritual authenticity over external practices holds significance in current society, particularly in the context of increasing secularization and the challenges faced by religious communities. This section serves as a reminder of the significance of genuine faith, the sufficiency of Christ, and the need to prioritize spiritual substance over external forms in the Christian walk. Without faith in Jesus Christ, no rite or ceremony or anything done in this world ultimately has any meaning or significance. Hebrews 11:6 “it is impossible to please Him [God].” And without faith, faith in Jesus Christs finished work only, what unrepentant sinners face, those who have not put their faith in Jesus Christ, is an eternity spent in hell, an unending future of facing God's unmitigated wrath in fury in a place where the flames are never quenched and the worm never dies and the torment never ends. Colossians 2:12 What Paul is describing here, just as he did when addressing circumcision back in verse 11 and really as he is doing throughout this letter of Colossians, he is addressing spiritual matters. He is bringing up the unequalled spiritual reality, the eternal reality that the true follower of Christ has undergone a spiritual metamorphosis. The old man has been buried with Christ in baptism and the new man has been “raised up,” verse 12, “with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.” This was an important word for the Colossian church, a church that was made up of individuals who were still newer in their faith, a church which had been infiltrated, as we've seen, by these false teachers who were trying to persuade the members of this church to add various matters of form to the substantive truths they already knew. This was a timely word from Paul to remind these new believers here in Colossae that they had already been spiritually circumcised, that they had already received the circumcision that he calls as “a circumcision made without hands,” one which united them in “the circumcision of Christ,” meaning the death of Christ, a death He died only once, a death which was perfectly sufficient in its atoning power and provision, a death to which nothing could ever be added. Not only that, it was important and timely of Paul to remind the Colossians here in verse 12 of the death that they had already died, “having been buried with Him in baptism,” and of the fact that they had now been “raised up with Him through faith.” Nothing greater on this earth will be done until we get to heaven than for God to Take us from kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light Forgive us from our sins and free us from guilt From Slavery to freedom From Emptiness to Fullness Mark 8:36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Have you trusted Him as your Savior? He can Save you if You ask Him based on His death, burial, and resurrection for your sins. Believe in Him for forgiveness of your sins today. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” -John 8:32 Our mission is to spread the gospel and to go to the least of these with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ; We reach out to those the World has forgotten. hisloveministries.podbean.com #HLMSocial hisloveministries.net https://www.instagram.com/hisloveministries1/?hl=en His Love Ministries on Itunes Don't go for all the gusto you can get, go for all the God (Jesus Christ) you can get. Whether you're joining us in your car, home, or workplace, let's embark on this spiritual journey together and be reminded of the love and calling we have in Jesus. So, with joyful hearts, let's dive into today's readings and see how they speak into our lives! TODAY'S DEVOTION: Jesus breaks through our expectations. In today's readings, we find moments where God's presence and actions challenge the status quo. In the book of Numbers, the people of Israel are tested in their faith and obedience. They stand at a crossroads of trust and rebellion. In Mark's Gospel, Jesus challenges the rigid interpretations of the law held by the Pharisees by performing a healing on the Sabbath. He demonstrates that God's law is not about oppression but liberation and life. God's desire is not that we become ensnared in the limitations of legalism, but that we are set free into a vibrant relationship with Him, a life characterized by righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit—the true essence of the Kingdom of God. Jesus reveals the heart of God when he heals the man with the withered hand. He shows us that God's commandments are there to serve us, not the other way around. The Pharisees were trapped by their interpretation of scripture, missing the living Word standing in their midst. But Jesus calls us beyond the letter into the life-giving spirit, revealing that the ultimate purpose of scripture is to point us towards Him—God in flesh, full of grace and truth. Our call today is to move beyond mere legalism and into a life marked by the Spirit's presence. We are invited to live in the freedom of Jesus' love, to embrace the fullness of life he offers, and to walk in a relationship of grace and truth. This is the abundant life, full of healing and redemption that God desires for each of us. Let us open our hearts to the living Word, to Jesus Himself, who perfectly reveals the heart of the Father. May we continually pursue a deeper understanding of how He leads us through His Word, ever pointing us to Himself, our true rest and peace. That's the prayer I have for my own soul. That's the prayer I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, and my son. And it's the prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. Shamelessly direct your cries and praise to God when facing trouble. True help comes from remembering Him--God's power, righteousness, and control are beyond our knowledge.
This teaching is from Matthew 24:29-39 We continue our study of Jesus' Mount Olivet Discourse with the verses in Matthew 24: 29-30 with the return of Jesus “coming on the clouds”* in power and glory. Coming on the clouds is referenced in Revelation 1:7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him…” (There will be no doubt when Jesus returns!!) Coming on the clouds is also referenced in Daniel 7:13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven.”* As people begin to understand what Jesus is saying they will realize that what is written in the Old Testament refers to Jesus! Pastor circles back to some words from last week's teaching and shares further about the “abomination that causes desolation.” Matthew 24:15 ““So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand.“ We take a look at some events that could be considered the abomination that causes desolation. • Antiochus Epiphanes (167BC) This event would probably have come into the disciples minds when Jesus said abomination that causes desolation. This Syrian king conquered Jerusalem and desecrated the temple by building an altar to zeus and sacrificing pigs on it. This lead to a great revolt by the Maccabees who threw out the Syrians and cleaned the temple. • Gaius Caligula (40AD) ordered a statue of himself to be set up in the temple at Jerusalem but before it could be done Gaius died. • Zealots in Winter (67/68 AD) during this revolt against Rome, zealots took over the temple and used it as their headquarters. • The Romans siege (70AD) when the temple and Jerusalem were destroyed (discussed last week). These all either were or could be the abomination that causes desolation. As we see in the Bible there are repeated themes and events: -God's people turn away from Him -judgement comes -God intervenes to save His people -His people rejoice -then they turn away from Him -God steps in to save His people -His people rejoice -then they turn away from Him -it brings judgement on them -then He rescues them With this repeating theme we see that there could also be a • Future Event (? AD) and the reader will also still need to “understand” what Jesus is talking about. Matthew 24:31-33 We are tasked to learn the lesson that as we see all these signs of the times that Christ's return is ever nearer. He is coming soon! As we continue with our reading of today's verses we read that no one knows the day and hour of Jesus' return. As in Noah's day when people were eating and drinking and knew nothing until the flood came, so it will be when Christ returns - many will be found unprepared. Welcome to Day 2498 of Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Day 2498 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 33:6-12 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2498 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2498 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.. In today's Wisdom Nugget, we're exploring Psalm 33, verses 6 through 12. These verses are rich with awe, reminding us of the power and sovereignty of God in creation, in the direction of human history, and in the lives of those who trust Him. David, the psalmist, calls us to look beyond ourselves and into the greatness of God, whose plans and purposes are solid and unchanging. I'll start by reading Psalm 33:6-12 from the New Living Translation. Psalm 33:6-12 (NLT) 6 The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. 7 He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. 8 Let the whole world fear the Lord, and let everyone stand in awe of Him. 9 For when He spoke, the world began! It appeared at His command. 10 The Lord frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. 11 But the Lord's plans stand firm forever; His intentions can never be shaken. 12 What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people He has chosen as His inheritance. God's Power in Creation (Verses 6-7): Let's dive into verses 6 and 7, where David speaks about God's role as Creator. Verse 6 begins, “The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born.” Here, we're reminded that God's power is unmatched. Creation wasn't a struggle or a lengthy process for Him—God simply spoke, and everything came into being. In a single breath, all the stars in the heavens burst into existence, vast and uncountable, each one a testament to His power and glory. This speaks to the ease with which God can do things that, to us, are utterly incomprehensible. Imagine the scale of this. Every star, every planet, every galaxy—God created them effortlessly. His words have the power to shape reality. This is a powerful reminder for us to trust His word. When He speaks, it carries weight, authority, and the power to bring things to pass. Verse 7 continues: “He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.” God not only created the world but also established its boundaries and order. The seas, powerful and relentless, obey Him. He has set the boundaries for the oceans and keeps them within their limits. This detail isn't just about the physical boundaries of creation; it's a reminder that God's power is vast, yet precise. He governs every detail of the universe, large and small. In a world that often feels chaotic, it's comforting to remember that God has ordered creation with care and intention. He is in control, not only over the great expanses of the universe but also over the smallest details of our lives. When we feel overwhelmed or out of control, we can look to...

Richard Hardin's Books: Amazon.com/Richard-A-Hardin/e/B09J2YHCVB --Approx $5 ea rahardin.com; Bio, Videos, Email: rhardin77@yahoo.com**** One of the confused areas in the Christian community is the difference in Signs and Visible Answers to prayer. This world will cloud our vision with smoke and haze to prevent us from seeing clearly what the Lord wants us to see. We need to blow Satan's smoke out of our vision by receiving Jesus as Lord. God wants you to see clearly how much better your life can be with Him. And once we start seeing clearly and living that life for Him and with Him God will use us in His Kingdom Work. And God will then give us visions and dreams to help us see clearly what we are to do. #fsbcsermon #fsbccoalinga Contact us at TheWordInfusion@gmail.com with your comments, questions or praises. Our Realities Speak to Our Real Priorities MESSAGE SUMMARY: From the Gospel of Luke (12:32f): Our Realities Speak to Our Real Priorities In Luke 12:32f, Jesus speaks to His priorities for us by declaring that He has given His followers His kingdom. Living in His Kingdom sets Jesus' priorities for us. The goal for us is to live to kingdom priorities and not our own priorities. In Rick Warren's book The Purpose Driven Life, Rev. Warren presents five kingdom priorities: 1) worship; 2) fellowship; 3) discipleship; 4) ministry; and 5) evangelism. By being in fellowship with God, we can discern His priorities for our lives. Luke 12 speaks to two priorities for God's kingdom: 1) being ready followers, and 2) and being a responsible steward. To be a ready follower of Jesus, we must: 1) be ready to give; 2) is ready to go and serve the Lord; and 3) be ready to greet the Master. For the kingdom priority of being a ready steward, we must answer the question: “After being entrusted with God by much, are we being responsible for His gifts?”. With our trust in God, God, the Creator of the Universe trusts us – is your life worthy of God's trust? It is a deep privilege to know God's will for us and His trust for us. God will give us the tools and power to be good stewards of the trust that He has provided us if we are in fellowship with Him – God wants to bless us if we seek and follow His will for us. “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." (Romans 14:17). TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Help me to trust you with all that will remain unfinished and to enjoy my humble place in your very large world. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 129). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM A CHILD OF GOD. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God-- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. The storyline of the Bible is the story of people who by faith meet God and their lives are forever changed. When we come to Joshua 2, we meet a very interesting woman named Rahab, and throughout Scripture she is most often referred to as “Rahab the Harlot”, or the “prostitute”. God choses to reveal what kind of God He is often by the people He calls and uses to fulfill His kingdom purposes. When we read the stories of these individuals, we should find tremendous hope for ourselves as we realize that God is a God of grace, mercy, and love! I couldn't help but think about how we have been studying about the life of Joshua who was called and prepared by God to take the place of the great Moses to lead to people into the Promise Land. From being born a slave in Egypt, redeemed by the blood of a lamb, crossing the Red Sea miraculously, becoming Moses' assistant, leading the army of Israel to victory over Amalek, by faith giving a good report after spying out the land, we see God at work in his life. He is a godly worshipper. Most of this training took place in the wilderness outside the Promise Land. But at the same time God is at work inside the Promise Land, inside the City of Jericho, the first major obstacle between the people of Israel and their inheritance. God was revealing Himself to a prostitute that He was going to use to help the people of Israel conquer this great fortress. And as we will also find out that God is going to use in another wonderful way! In one chapter we go from Joshua, a godly worshipper, to Rahab, a pagan, idol worshipping prostitute. What an amazing story!!!! Only two women are personally named in Hebrews 11, in the "The Hall of Fame of Faith": Sarah, the wife of Abraham (v. 11), and Rahab, the harlot of Jericho (v. 31). Sarah was a godly woman, the wife of the founder of the Hebrew race; and God used her dedicated body to bring Isaac into the world. But Rahab was an ungodly Gentile who worshiped pagan gods and sold her body for money. Humanly speaking, Sarah and Rahab had nothing in common. But from the divine viewpoint, Sarah and Rahab shared the most important thing in life: They both had exercised saving faith in the true and living God. Not only does the Bible associate Rahab with Sarah; but in James 2:21-26, it also associates her with Abraham. James used both Abraham and Rahab to illustrate the fact that true saving faith always proves itself by good works. But there's more! The Bible associates Rahab with the Messiah! When you read the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 1, you find Rahab's name listed there (v. 5), along with Jacob, David, and the other famous people in the Messianic line. She has certainly come a long way from being a pagan prostitute to being an ancestress of the Messiah! "But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound" (Rom. 5:20). But keep in mind that the most important thing about Rahab was her faith. That's the most important thing about any person, for "without faith it is impossible to please Him [God]" (Heb. 11:6). Not everything that is called "faith" is really true faith, the kind of faith that is described in the Bible. For the next few days, we are going to be looking at Joshua 2 and the kind of faith that Rahab had! We so often get so accustomed to our “spiritual bubbles” that we live in, our homes, our church and fellowship groups, that we think that is the only place God is working! I'm encouraged by the story of Rahab to know that God is working even in the lives of people that are actively involved in this wicked evil world, and He is about to change them from a raging “Saul” to an Apostle Paul, that will turn the world upside down for Jesus! Remember, God is ready to transform you today by His grace, mercy, love, and power, to be on mission with Him in changing this sinful world around us! God bless!

Everyday Church celebrated 6 years of public ministry on Feb 4th, 2024. We were joined by our great friends from Iglesia Pentecostal Renuevo De Paz for a bilingual service. Scripture says we love Him [God] because He first loved us. The reason many of us don't love God as we should is we haven't fully received His love in our own lives. From Sunday 02.04.2024

Is pleasing God an impossible task? It is written, ". . . without faith, it is impossible to please Him (God) for he that comes to God must believe that He is . . .". Pleasing God begins with a clear acknowledgment that He exists, and He awaits the evidence of a willing, obedient life.
Isaiah 9:2-7 In general the whole Liturgical calendar is set up so that you never have celebration without preparation. Advent is focused more on preparation. Advent is designed to call us into rest, into reflection and into hope for what's next. That's what Christians are focusing on when they celebrate Advent. - Tish Harrison Warren The entire thrust of this season is designed to bring us face-to-face with reality—reality about sin and death, reality about the human race, reality about God. Something ultimate has entered our world, something or Someone that calls us to attention, calls us out of our daily preoccupations and our routine points of view. That is what this season with its special biblical readings is designed to reveal - Fleming Rutledge “It is because of His humanity and His incarnation that Christ becomes sweet to us, and through Him God becomes sweet to us. Let us therefore begin to ascend step by step from Christ's crying in His swaddling clothes up to His Passion. Then we shall easily know God. I am saying this so that you do not begin to contemplate God from the top, but start with the weak elements. We should best ourselves completely with treating, knowing, and considering this man. Then you will know that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” Martin Luther May the Lord make you glad during this remembrance of the birth of His only Son, Jesus Christ; that as you joyfully receive Him for your redeemer, you may with sure confidence behold Him when He shall come to be our judge. Book of Common Prayer (1928) “Assyria's masters are planning to conquer the whole earth (Is. 5:25-29) Her greed is reckless, her weapons devastating, her armies formidable, crushing all resistance, sweeping to victories. No one seems to question her invincibility except Isaiah, who foresees the doom of the oppressor, the collapse of the monster.” Abraham Heschel “Look at how a single candle can both defy and define the darkness.” ―Anne Frank This good news offers another opportunity for rebellious people to turn from trusting in political alliances, mediums, and the spirits of the dead because God is their only true source of hope. Neither Ahaz nor any modern political figure can ever hope to bring about an era of perfect peace and justice. Only God's wonderful plans will bring about these ideals, not the plans of Ahaz (8:10) or any other fast talking politician. God's promises will only be accomplished through his chosen messianic ruler, so placing trust in any other solution is folly. - Gary Smith Matthew 1:9, 21-23, 2:5-6 I fled Him, down the nights and down the days; I fled Him, down the arches of the years; I fled Him, down the labyrinthine ways Of my own mind; and in the mist of tears I hid from Him, and under running laughter. Up vistaed hopes I sped; And shot, precipitated, Adown Titanic glooms of chasmèd fears, From those strong Feet that followed, followed after. But with unhurrying chase, And unperturbèd pace, Deliberate speed, majestic instancy, They beat—and a Voice beat More instant than the Feet— ‘All things betray thee, who betrayest Me.' Francis Thompson In the church, this is the season of Advent. It's superficially understood as a time to get ready for Christmas, but in truth it's the season for contemplating the judgment of God. Advent is the season that, when properly understood, does not flinch from the darkness that stalks us all in this world. Advent begins in the dark and moves toward the light—but the season should not move too quickly or too glibly, lest we fail to acknowledge the depth of the darkness. Advent bids us take a fearless inventory of the darkness: the darkness without and the darkness within. - Fleming Rutledge
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. [1 hour 3 minutes]

We Need Signs & Visible Answers to Prayer From God - My Books: Amazon.com/Richard-A-Hardin/e/B09J2YHCVB --rahardin.com; Bio, Videos, Email: rhardin77@yahoo.com**** One of the confused areas in the Christian community is the difference in Signs and Visible Answers to prayer. Through the years when I have taught on different ways God reveals Himself to us or “How God speaks to us,” one of the most common responses is, “You better not seek signs, the devil can mislead you!” Or, “Jesus said we shouldn't seek signs.” Most people do not know the difference in Signs and Visible Answers to prayer. So today I will explain in a way that you won't have to be worried about mixing them up. The devil trys to scare us from praying and seeking God's answer for then it allows him to be in control.****When you understand the difference between signs and visible answers to prayer, you will have the confidence to seek God in all situations and know without a doubt that He wants you to seek Him anytime for any concern with all your heart. Philippians 4:6 states, “Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Anxiety is always the result of evaluating some future possible circumstance without considering God in it! You are trying to figure it out yourself, not trusting that God will be involved with you when the time arrives. So, let anxiety be the “red flag”, trigger to immediately pray and consider God in your future and even your present concern. Start by talking to God, praying, about your situation every time you think of it and you will see that your trust in God will increase and the anxiety will decrease because you have cast your cares on Jesus, 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your care upon Him(God); for He careth for you. (8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." Don't wait until it gets so bad that you feel “all I can do now is pray”-pray when you recognize the first sign of anxiety.***There are many very important subjects not being taught in the Christian Community, many being taught incorrectly based on false beliefs, and some beliefs are completely made up and have no mention whatsoever in the Bible. The Rev. David Boisclair, pastor of Faith and Bethesda Lutheran Churches in Pine Lawn, MO, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study Mark 1:1-20. The gospel of Mark wastes no time launching into the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. This chapter introduces John the Baptist, a prophet sent to prepare the way for Christ's arrival. When Jesus comes to the Jordan to be baptized, a voice from heaven declares Him God's beloved Son. Immediately thereafter, Jesus is compelled by the Spirit into the wilderness where He undergoes temptation by Satan. Emerging victorious, Jesus travels to Galilee to proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God. Beneath the fast-paced action of Jesus' ministry in the Gospel of Mark lies a profound theological message: we are all in bondage to sin and cannot free ourselves. Though Jesus performs mighty deeds and calls people to repent, they repeatedly fail to understand his true identity and mission. Even his disciples abandon him in his darkest hour. Yet Jesus willingly suffers and dies on the cross as a ransom for many, accomplishing what we could not do ourselves - securing our justification before God. Mark presents Jesus not just as a miracle worker but as the divine Savior whose atoning sacrifice makes salvation possible for lost sinners.

Who is Jesus? Here's one way to think about Him…God took all His love for us and put it into a person. That's Jesus—God's love in human form. But His love is not like ours. It doesn't change and fade. It doesn't abandon us when things get messy. And it's a love that's so much bigger and stronger than ours—so big that He was willing to sacrifice Himself for us in order to give us eternal life. 1 John 4 says… This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. When we give our lives to Him, God enables us to give and receive love beyond our normal human capacity. Do you want the love of Jesus to flow through your heart and change your life? Open your heart. Receive Him today. Don't wait another day. radio.hopewithgod.com
There's a beautiful name for God used in the Old Testament—Adonai. It means Lord. The full meaning is Lord of all. It's a Hebrew word that refers to God's absolute authority. He's not just a Lord, He is the Lord. There are people in this world who have heard about Him, and they call Him God. And there are people in this world who know Him, not just about Him, and they call Him Lord. Is He your Adonai, not just a god, but your Lord? When you get to know Him and experience Him—when you have a relationship with Him—the only appropriate response is to call Him Lord. Do you know Him? You can today. You can move from knowing about God, to knowing Him for yourself. Always remember, there is hope with God. Scripture Reference: Psalm 86:15 radio.hopewithgod.com

Acts 5:26-32 New King James Version 26 Then the captain went with the officers and brought them without violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned. 27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, 28 saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood on us!” 29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. 31 Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
