Join us for our part two of our Holy Week Series, The King Who Came To Save - Good Friday service.
The Holy Week Series theme is: Look UpIn the world's first week, God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. The pattern was set. In the world's greatest week, God redeemed the world in six days. And on the seventh day, the Son of God rested in the tomb, the Sabbath of all Sabbaths. When you see the suffering of our Savior on your behalf this week, you may be tempted to look down, hanging your head in shame. You may be tempted to look around at everything disappointing in this world and shake your head. But God encourages you to look up. Your redemption is near! The Palm Sunday Service theme is: LOOK UP TO SEE YOUR KINGYou are going about your daily business. There is a crowd. You are easily distracted by all the activity. It is a holiday, and there are extra things to prepare. It is easy to focus on your personal task at hand and lose sight of the bigger picture. Focus! Look Up! There is a King who presents himself so hymbly that you might miss the importance of his arrival. Hail the King who humbly comes to save us!Support the showMessages from the King is produced by King of Kings Lutheran Church in Maitland, FL.To find out more about King of Kings...Please visit VisitKoK.comLike us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/visitkok)Email us @ info@visitkok.comRemember your Savior Jesus loves you! March 24, 2024 - Palm Sunday John 12:12–19.
In week 2 of our HOLY WEEK Series, we look at the events on Thursday night, and how Jesus gave us a really important way to remember and celebrate the sacrifice that he made for us.
In this week's reading, we encounter the events that begin the final days of Jesus' life. Many of these events we have covered in previous episodes in our Holy Week Series, such as Mary anointing Jesus, Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem (twice, actually!) and Jesus' cleansing of the temple (again, twice!). Having already covered the most iconic stories in this week's text freed us up to explore some of the lesser celebrated stories like the cursing of the fig tree, Zacchaeus, and Jesus' critique of hypocrisy. The transcript for this episode is available on our website at www.thefaithfulfeminists.com
In this short episode Julianne and Kerry bear testimony of the importance of and hope that stems from Christ and His resurrection. We are grateful for our sponsor, Lisa Spice, and for Rich Nicholls, who composed and plays the music for the podcast.
The Daily Still Podcast - Guided Christian Meditations and Devotions
Today we offer an encore Palm Sunday Meditation from our Holy Week Series. This meditation focuses on Psalm 121, known as a Psalm of Ascent. These Psalms were sung by Hebrew pilgrims on their way to Jerusalem and possibly while ascending the steps of the Temple. It's remarkable to note, that Jesus and His disciples would have prayed and sung these same scriptures. "I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1-2 “Faith is the gaze of a soul…upon a saving God.” - A.W. Tozer
Kerry and Julianne discuss celebrating Holy Week and suggest resources for doing so, and announce a special series and extend an invitation to an event. We are grateful for our sponsor, Lisa Spice and for Rich Nicholls, who composed and plays the music for the podcast.

It appeared that all seemed lost. It seemed as though death had won. The disciples were afraid and unsure. Had it all been for nothing? Was it over? Sometimes, the wait seems unending, but God is always moving and working. Even when we cannot see behind the scenes, we must trust that He is in control! In today's episode, we learn why it is called, "Good Friday." Jesus, in obedience to His Father, went to the cross on our behalf. In carrying all of our sin, He took the punishment that was meant for us. Good Friday is the day we remember when Jesus took our sin, and in exchange, offered us new life. We will never know what it feels like to be separated from God, because Jesus was for us, and that is good news!Experience the grace and forgiveness of God as we learn about the good news of Good Friday.Truth Seekers is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. Jesus came to save us from our sin. Sin is what keeps us from God. The answer to sin is Jesus' death and resurrection. He forgives us and then calls us to, "Go and sin no more!"Truth Seekers is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. The Lord's Supper is the last Passover meal that Jesus had with His disciples before He died on the cross. Jesus did something different at this Passover meal that had never been done. He asked the disciples to eat from the bread and drink from the cup as an act of remembering what He was about to do. When we take communion, we are remembering, just as His disciples did, the work of the cross and the power of what it means for us that Jesus gave His life. Palm Sunday is the day we remember when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey. God was in the details of this moment from before the creation of the world. He had prepared this day for His Son to fulfill the promise made to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. God would send someone from Eve's seed to crush the head of the serpent. He would send Himself, and He would be faithful to complete the work He started.Truth Seekers is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network.
