John 13:33-35 teaches us 3 things about embrace: (1)The personal embrace of Christ, (2)The sacrificial embrace of Christ, and (3)The missional embrace of Christ. As we see how Jesus loved his own, we are given a model and a pattern for how we are to love our own. The call to love one another is the distinguishing mark of the new community of Christ and it is designed to testify to the world who Christ is. Messages like this can be hard to digest because hurt and pain oftentimes come with community. However, Jesus provides for us a wonderful model of love in the midst of pain and hurt and how that pain and hurt bring for transformation.

Sunday, March 22, 2026 Enjoy this message as Pastor Andre speaks on a special moment in Mark where Jesus makes it clear that He is on the move - and that He wants to move in people's lives!
Favoritism is the preferential treatment of people based on what they can do for us, and it has the power to fracture not just families but the mission of God — as we see in Genesis 37 where Jacob's open favoritism of Joseph nearly unraveled the entire family of promise. Favoritism jeopardizes God's work because it devalues people by stripping them of their God-given worth, and dethrones God by replacing His rule of love with our own comfort-driven preferences. But the most surprising twist is that God's answer to man's favoritism is grace — bypassing the favored Joseph entirely and choosing Judah, the betrayer, to carry the lineage of Jesus. We are all Judah, and it is only when we experience that grace personally that we are freed from playing favorites with others.

What this passage is teaching us today is that when you find yourself in the valleys of life, keep digging because there you will find the wells of God's promises. When you are in situations that are not going according to plan, when there is tension and conflict in your life that you do not have the strength to resolve, and when it feels like there is no well of life to drink from in those moments, God is with you there and he can even be found there. 2 points for us today: The valleys of life & The wells of God's promises.

Luke 1:46-55 helps us see what moved Mary to sing—and how what she saw can move us to sing this Christmas as well. Mary's song was not naïve optimism; it was the overflow of encountering the character of God. In her moment of fear, uncertainty, and costly obedience, she discovered the reality of God breaking into her life as she experienced these 3 truths: God's presence, God's power, and God's mercy. And if we, like Mary, learn to see God breaking into our lives in these 3 ways our hearts, too, will be moved to sing with deep and lasting joy.

Sunday, November 2, 2025The Invested Life // Week 6Enjoy this message as Pastor Andre speaks on The Four Questions we ask people as we disciple them to have a deeper love for God.
2 Timothy 2:1-2 teaches us that real thriving means making disciples because making disciples multiplies faith and matures faith. In the call to multiply faith, the enemy that combats against this is oftentimes selfish faith. Selfish faith is more concerned about me, myself, and I rather than God's kingdom, his mission, and his people. The way we surrender our selfish faith is by being given a vision of a thriving life that is more compelling than our selfish ways. Multiplying faith is a more compelling way to live because God's salvation extends beyond one person but carries on from generation to generation. But also, discipleship provides the means for mature faith. Paul explains discipleship always happens in the context of personal and proximate relationships. And it's through relationships that people come to love Christ above all. Discipleship is not an easy task but God has provided a source that his people can always return to for strength and it's his well of grace. This is what sustains us and strengthen us to make disciples who make disciples.
Isolation is the condition of hiding from God and others, breaking the fellowship we were created for. Gen. 3 teaches us that isolation is destructive because it makes us susceptible to the deceitfulness of sin. The lie that we fall victim to is that "God is not good". And we live out this lie as we avoid community and God, the two relationships we were created to enjoy and participate in. However, because God is so loving and gracious, He comes looking for us and finds us because we cannot find ourselves. In His finding us, we're reminded He truly is good and this is what draws us out of our hiding. Coming out of hiding is scary because before we can be found, we first need to be found out. But the result of being exposed in light of God is covering and healing. And it's through this healing that we can now go and find those who are hding.

(Nahum 1:1-15) Nahum is writing to a downtrodden, disoriented, and despairing people. God's people have been victims of oppression for almost a century by the Assyrian empire. The question they were asking was, “Is God present? Is God strong? Will He save us?” Nahum's response is He is strong and He will save them and Nahum reinforces this truth by pointing them to God's power, God's jealousy, and God's salvation. Nahum teaches that not only is God strong, but He's also good. And because He is these things, we can be confident that no matter what we face, God will be faithful to save us.
Paslm 34:1-8These verses are a heartfelt declaration of praise and trust in God. David commits to continually praising the Lord, encouraging others to join him in glorifying God. He recounts how God delivered him from fear and trouble when he sought Him. Those who look to God are radiant and never ashamed. The psalm highlights God's attentiveness to the humble and those in need , His protection through His angel, and the goodness found in trusting Him.
Christianity doesn't leave us to face death alone. Instead, it gives us a Champion who has defeated death, and who pardons and covers us with His love.” - @andrejosiah At our Resurrection Sunday service, Pastor Andre concluded our series on the Seven "I Am"s of Jesus - with a sharing on Jesus as the Resurrection and the Life. Many of us fear death, and are reluctant to face our own mortality. We find it hard to comprehend a life beyond this present world, and think that this is all we will ever experience and enjoy. However, as we reflect on Jesus' death and resurrection, we are reminded that our Saviour has conquered death for us. Because He is risen, we are raised to new life in Him. We can now have hope, even through loss, and can live with resurrection courage because nothing, not even death, can separate us from the love of God. Christ is risen. He is risen, indeed!
Nehemiah 12 highlights the importance of our worship gathering. Our Sunday services are not meaningful because we gather but what makes it meaningful is the reason that we are gathered for. The people of God have gathered to celebrate the goodness and faithfulness of God, similarly that's why we 21st century people of God gather together too. The difference is that we have a greater reason than our ancient predecessors. We are not motivated by a finished wall, but by the finished work of Christ.

Ánimo, Hermano – Pastor Andrés Gómez by Iglesia Bautista Bíblica de Long Beach
Every Christian family must be part of a church, and healthy families are part of what make healthy churches. But the church member who has been part of a body for 30 or 40 years is increasingly rare in our day. What is it to be a good church member? What contributes to the longevity of both churches and members? How should we view the church and those within its walls? Kevin Swanson, Scott Brown, and Pastor Andre discuss these and other questions on this edition of the program. This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Matt Gaetz withdraws, Biden secretly awards Planned Parenthood leader, Anti-Christian hate crimes in Turkey have doubled) 2. Generations with Kevin Swanson

(John 8:2-11) The passage we have in front of us is so precious and we should do everything to focus our minds and our hearts to the word of God because it's pregnant with reason after reason why Jesus is the most perfect judge we are groaning for. And this is because as we will see—only in Him does justice and grace meet in sweet harmony. Jesus never makes mistakes, always makes the right decisions, always judges correctly, and always feels the right emotions at the right time. And because this is true, we should come to Him as our judge who not only defends us from condemnation but also fights for our vindication.
Paul is answering the question—Does grace encourage sin? He asks this because he can already foresee the temptation of grace being abused because of the Roman Christian's failure to understand that grace empowers the upholding of the law, not the dismantling of it. Paul's answer to this question is “no” and he uses the analogy of slave and master to communicate his reasoning. Grace does not encourage sin because God does not encourage sin. Grace does not make space for sin because God does not make space for sin. Under our old master sin was permitted and in fact encouraged but in light of our new master (God) righteousness and eternal life is the fruit of His lordship. This teaching will explore why God is a better master over our lives and how to live in light of His lordship.
In this message, Pastor Dré focuses on faith and justice. In Chapter 5 of the Book of James, we see that James offers a prophetic lament that gives a warning to the rich oppressors and hope for the marginalized.
We have to participate in God's call to reach those who don't know him because He has beautifully hidden them for them to be found. The only way they will be found is if his people go looking for them.
