On today's Bible Answer Man broadcast (04/07/26), Hank continues to highlight the days of Holy Week. On Holy Tuesday, we commemorate the Parable of the Ten Virgins as found in Matthew chapter 25. In this parable—this extended simile with extraordinarily sharp teeth—the coming of Christ is likened to the coming of the bridegroom to the home of his bride during the sacramental ritual of marriage. In the narrative of the parable, there are ten virgins—five wise and five foolish. The five wise virgins are illustrative of those who practice almsgiving and mercy. The five foolish represent those who selfishly squander God's provisions upon themselves. In the end, the bridegroom arrives, and the five who were prepared went in with him to the eternal wedding banquet. And then, says Jesus, “the door was shut.” To the five foolish virgins who belatedly asked for the door to be opened, the bridegroom replied, “I tell you the truth, I don't know you.”Hank also answers the following question:My son struggles with knowing that he's saved. The gospel passage appointed for today is John 12:20-26 . This week Water Daily will look at the gospel for each day and reflect from the perspective of one the people on the fringes of the story. We too are on the fringes of this story and are invited to come into its heart. People have many different reactions to Jesus, but to know Him truly by faith, we must know Him first as the Crucified One.

On Holy Tuesday, Jesus spends much of the day teaching, most notably delivering the “seven woes” in Gospel of Matthew 23, where He strongly rebukes the Pharisees and Sadducees for their hypocrisy. While they had mastered the outward appearance of faith—focusing on rules, status, and religious image—they had neglected the heart of God's law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. Jesus warns against becoming like “whitewashed tombs,” looking righteous on the outside but being spiritually empty within. This challenges us, especially as we approach Easter, to examine our own faith—not just what we do or how we appear, but why we do it—calling us to move beyond religious optics and live with genuine devotion to God.Join us for our daily reflections with Andy.
