On today's Bible Answer Man broadcast (04/07/26), Hank continues to highlight the days of Holy Week. On Holy Tuesday, we commemorate the Parable of the Ten Virgins as found in Matthew chapter 25. In this parable—this extended simile with extraordinarily sharp teeth—the coming of Christ is likened to the coming of the bridegroom to the home of his bride during the sacramental ritual of marriage. In the narrative of the parable, there are ten virgins—five wise and five foolish. The five wise virgins are illustrative of those who practice almsgiving and mercy. The five foolish represent those who selfishly squander God's provisions upon themselves. In the end, the bridegroom arrives, and the five who were prepared went in with him to the eternal wedding banquet. And then, says Jesus, “the door was shut.” To the five foolish virgins who belatedly asked for the door to be opened, the bridegroom replied, “I tell you the truth, I don't know you.”Hank also answers the following question:My son struggles with knowing that he's saved. He said that he's prayed and prayed but doesn't feel like he hears from God. What can I say to him? Carol - Nashville, TN (19:41)

This week, Hannah and Barbi start with a little housekeeping from last episode before diving into a big life update from Hannah. From there, the conversation shifts into Holy Tuesday, the meaning behind the fig tree, and the deeper significance of Easter and the resurrection.Of course, it wouldn't be a normal episode without a few unexpected turns. Hannah shares what it was like hosting trivia in an old casket factory, they talk about a meal that made them feel like they were living in a completely different tax bracket, and catch up on all the everyday things going on in their lives right now.And just when you think the episode is wrapping up, it takes a meaningful turn with one simple but powerful question: do you remember your first real conversation with God?It's thoughtful, a little all over the place, and full of the kind of moments that stick with you.

Today we continue our Holy Week reflections with a short Lectio Divina—an ancient prayer practice that helps us slow down and sit with a small passage of Scripture. Together we'll read the passage several times, paying attention to what stands out, and bringing our thoughts and prayers to God. Today's reflection focuses on a moment from Jesus' life during Holy Tuesday, inviting us to step more deeply into the story of this week as we move toward Easter. Take 10–15 minutes—perhaps during your lunch break or a quiet moment in the middle of the day—to pause, reflect, and spend time with God and his Word. We pray this time of reflection helps make your Holy Week meaningful, and we look forward to celebrating Easter together this weekend. If you'd rather listen instead of watch, these reflections are also available as a podcast on our website, through major podcast platforms, and at https://legendchurch.podbean.com/

On Holy Tuesday, Jesus spends much of the day teaching, most notably delivering the “seven woes” in Gospel of Matthew 23, where He strongly rebukes the Pharisees and Sadducees for their hypocrisy. While they had mastered the outward appearance of faith—focusing on rules, status, and religious image—they had neglected the heart of God's law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. Jesus warns against becoming like “whitewashed tombs,” looking righteous on the outside but being spiritually empty within. This challenges us, especially as we approach Easter, to examine our own faith—not just what we do or how we appear, but why we do it—calling us to move beyond religious optics and live with genuine devotion to God.Join us for our daily reflections with Andy. In this Holy Tuesday homily, the focus is on the gospel account of Judas's betrayal, highlighting Christ's divine foreknowledge of his suffering and emphasizing his immense sacrifice. The sermon explores how Jesus experienced a range of human emotions, such as fear and anxiety, serving as a model for our own struggles and responsibilities. Through a personal anecdote about a misplaced driver's license, the speaker illustrates how human frailty and forgetfulness can lead to sin. The text cautions that even those closest to God can betray, encouraging listeners to hold fast to Christ as a spiritual anchor in times of turmoil. The phrase "do quickly what you are going to do" is presented as a call to immediate, righteous action to prevent the devil from seizing opportunities to interfere.

Want to reach out to us? Want to leave a comment or review? Want to give us a suggestion or berate Anthony? Send us a text by clicking this link!Silence speaks volumes during Holy Week. As we journey through the sacred days leading to Easter, today's reflection invites us to contemplate Christ's profound silence during His Passion—a silence that bewildered even Pilate. Unlike the bitter silence of resentment, Jesus' quiet demeanor flowed from a soul completely immersed in God, drawing strength for His ultimate sacrifice. The meditation reveals a beautiful paradox: while Jesus bore the weight of humanity's sins in silence, He also offered us the gift of hope. "He that hath walked in darkness and hath no light, let him hope in the name of the Lord and lean upon his God." This invitation to hope comes alongside a challenge to embrace silence ourselves during this holiest of weeks.Reflecting on our spiritual journey, we confront an uncomfortable truth—how noise has gradually invaded the baptismal silence where God once dwelled undisturbed in our souls. For some, the challenge lies in excessive talking; for others, it's the compulsive filling of every moment with digital stimulation, podcasts, or scrolling that prevents true silence from taking root. Nature often provides the first gateway back to this original silence, creating space where prayer can flourish without distraction. As we prepare for the Triduum, consider embracing one of today's resolutions: seek silence, reflect before speaking, incorporate brief prayers throughout your day, or plan a silent retreat in the coming year. These small steps toward reclaiming sacred silence might just be what allows us to hear the gentle voice of God once more.
