Welcome to Part 2 of the LIM Dublin Interviews from May 2019.It was an amazing week by all accounts. While I only had the fortune to be at LIM for 2 days, I was able to pack a lot in. During the 2 days, I was also able to connect with a number of attendees at the LIM which included Members of PMI at HQ in Philadelphia and Chapter leaders from across the globe. This episode shares the final set of short interviews so you can get a better understanding of different parts of the PMI, what’s happening in other chapters and of course, hear loud and clear the value and benefits gained from volunteering for your local chapter. We’ve also added a new member to our Ireland Chapter podcast crew as you’ll hear on this episode. Brantlee Underhill, Director of Chapters and Volunteers at PMI, a past guest on the show also, was my co-host for the day and she did an amazing job! Thank you Brantlee. Ok. Enough from me. Let’s get into the interviews. 1.Heather Ramsey, Manager of Academic Programs at PMI. Working with Colleges and Universities across the globe. This has been part of the PMI since its inception. It’s evolved over the years and is always looking to add new programs. She shares the benefits to the chapter and to the individuals. 2.Lynn Channon from the Chapter Member advisory group. Lynn has lost count of the number of LIM’s she’s attended and shares her learnings from the event. 3.Seam McConnell, from the Detroit Chapter of PMI. Sean shares his experience from the LIM in Dublin and has taken a ton of great ideas from the sessions he attended. 4.Monina from the France Chapter. She is the leader of the study group in the PMBOK 6th. She has been helping others learn and develop their PM skills. She shares details about the attendees the study group which helps others learn about Project Management. She shares her excitement taken from the LIM experience. The networking and growth that comes out of this role is very rewarding according to Monina.5.Jorg Glunder from PMI Southern Germany Chapter. He’s been volunteering for the last 11 years for PMI. He talks about the leadership skills he’s developed by being in this role. He became more confident and experienced. This is his 7th LIM and he’s learned so much. 6.Janet Burnes, President of the Delaware Chapter of PMI in Philadelphia. The chapter is celebrating the 40th Anniversary and they are hosting the congress in Philadelphia in October for the 50th Anniversary. Janet talks about the value she’s taking from being involved in the PMI chapters and how this has changed over the years in these positions. Staring with networking and moving to help others get better at Project Management.Hope you enjoy. If you'd like to get in touch please email me on rodonohue@pmi-ireland.orgThank you,Rob

Episode 10 – Ireland Chapter PMI – PodcastHi all,Very welcome to episode 10 of the Ireland Chapter of PMI Podcast. At the start of the year, we had hoped to do one per month starting in February and we have almost done that. The numbers of listeners, month on month, have been on the rise, with more subscribers every month which is great. We’ve interviewed some great PM professionals and experts during the year…including the founder of the PMI James Snyder, the current President & CEO Mark Langley, a number of our committee members, and others from across the globe that are part of PMI chapters. For me, it’s been an amazing opportunity and experience to get to talk PM with so many people….the common themes of career development, networking, trying out new things, and of course PDUs all come up….but giving back something to the profession is huge and very rewarding. I was lucky enough to present at the Region 8 chapter event in Belgrade in November sharing a HOW TO guide on podcasting for your chapter. If we didn’t start this off, that would never have happened. Before I introduce our guest for this months, just to say thank you for listening in over the year, for your input, feedback, ideas….all have been taken on board. We’re starting to plan for 2019 already….with more show, interviews, and more. 2019 is another huge year for the chapter with the National conference in Cork and then the PMI congress and LIM in Dublin in May. If you’re interested in even helping out on the Podcast next year, have ideas for guests, how we could market it better or anything at all, you can connect in with me – just drop me a mail on rodonohue@pmi-ireland.orgSo our guest this month’s episode had an interview with Brantlee Underhill. Brantlee Underhill is the Director of Global chapters for PMI. Brantlee talks about her 20 year journey with the PMI and the huge change that has happened during this time. She shares insights on:•Growth of PMI over the 20 years from 30k to 500k members•PMI 2.0 Strategy Transformation •Customer Centricity & Thinking Differently •Strategic Focus! •2019 and the 50th Anniversary of PMI •Activities and Events for the coming year•Focusing on the PM Pro & the Next Gen PM•How to be digitally relevant in the new world •Focusing on outreach efforts to Colleges and Universities •PM Edge web based learning tool online •Brantlee and Project Management – How she got involved in this area•Brantlee and Podcast interests personallyEnjoy the interview & have a great Christmas & New Year. The topic was all around making change happen with the tag line of ‘The Change Makers’.Next-up, a few of the committee were lucky enough to attend the the PMI Leadership Institute Meeting (known as the LIM). This is held along with the PMI Congress. This year, it was held in Berlin from the 4-11 May. The Big news coming out of this event is that both the LIM and Congress will be held in Dublin in Mid-May 2019. This is great news the Ireland Chapter, for Dublin and Ireland. Episode 4 - PMI National Conference Part 1Hi folks, It’s been a very busy month on the PMI front. Firstly, we held the National conference in the Aviva on the 26th April. It was a sell-out event with some great speakers. It will have been 8 years since it was last held in Ireland so we’re all very excited about it coming back! In upcoming episodes of this podcast, we’ll be sharing insights that were captured from the LIM where we were delighted to talk with one of the 5 founders of the PMI, Jim Snyder. We also interviewed the current CEO of PMI, Mark Langley, other members of the PMI board and over 20 presidents and members from chapters all over the world. All this great content will be shared in upcoming episodes of this podcast. Back to this month’s show. I brought the mic to the Aviva on the 26th April and talked with many of the committee, speakers and attendees on the day. I was very interested to capture what their thoughts were on making change happen in their projects and how to successfully make it stick. You’re about to hear a great variety of responses which I’m sure you’ll enjoy. Before we go into that, please be sure to help us spread the world about the Ireland Chapter of PMI Podcast. Share it on the socials, tell another PM, listen to it in your team meeting, and, most of all, be sure to get in touch with feedback. Do you find it of value? What else can we add or cover to make it more useful to you? Would you be willing to share you own Project or Programme story, lessons learned and successes? We’d love to hear from you!
