Lucas Peterson is the host of the Just Sway Podcast and a multiple repeat guest. More than that he has sincerely become a very important part of Fort Worth Roots and a great friend. In this episode we really put the listeners to the test. First we start the episode with no objective what so ever and then cut the thing short because we have to get to a comedy show with Jeff Dye as the headliner at Hyenas Comedy Night Club in Down Town Fort Worth Texas. We pick the episode up again the next morning and talk a little about the show with Jeff. Morgan Moore joins us with her lovely self to add just what was missing this entire time from the show...adult supervision. Check out Lucas's show "Just Sway" which is dedicated to the music and the men of Blue October and how they impact our lives and bring us together. Lucas puts a ton of time into each and every episode to make sure the end product comes out smooth and professional. You'll here me joke constantly about how his podcast delivers a much more professional podcast than Fort Worth Roots. But its true. He really does a good job and if you enjoy podcasts as much as we do than you need to check it out immediately. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ride-with-me-drive-with-me/id1420205528 We really didn't talk a bunch about Jeff Dye or the show at Hyenas. But this guy was killing it on stage that night. You should check the dude out and then leave comments all over his content telling him to come on Fort Worth Roots next time he's in town. We cant wait to see him again live. Great show Jeff! Here's a link i found for Mr.Dye :https://jeffdye.com/ Ms.Moore would actually hate to hear from you at this point. She's terribly shy and sleeps close to a night light, so...... that's it on Morgan. She's awesome and we hope she finds it in her heart to just quit being to busy to cohost the show and just be awesome and help us do things on Fort Worth Roots. Lucas Peterson is a 3 time return guest and important friend of Fort Worth Roots, Lucas is the host of the podcast "Just Sway" a podcast dedicated to the band Blue October and the people who have been impacted by the bands music. Lucas is also the host of the Horrorful Podcast where they give a detailed brake down of cult classic horror movies and provide the listener with details and info about how the movies were produced and some of the behind the scene stuff. Episode 31 will always been known as the one we dont want to talk about. The host of the show lost the audio file and in a scramble finds a way to "kinda" make the audio from the gopro camera substitute. Thank you for forgiving me as i know you have. "Twenty-two years ago, I was struggling to figure out who I was and why I was here. I was someone who didn’t fit into the box where I was told I belong…. So, I did whatever made me happy and did it better than anyone else. Really… I was good at it! The problem is that I hurt a lot of people in the process. Of course, I justified my actions for years. That was until my selfishness led me to betray a dear friend and cause extreme damage to someone very dear to my heart," wrote James Ramsey, in a January 7th online letter. Listen to his letter in its entirety in this special episode of Just Sway. I tell Lucas in this episode that year one of developing Fort Worth Roots is all about learning the podcast ropes and making friends. We can add Lucas to our list of friends for sure! We had a great recording with just simple and laid back conversation. But what has been really awesome is connecting with Lucas after the show through social media. He has been a great help putting this show together and i dont know if we could have done it with out him!Lucas is the host of the podcast Just Sway which you can find at just-sway.simplecast.comAnd here is a time line that will either highlight how efficient Mr.Peterson is or just implicate me is an ass dragging procrastinator. Alright, so i started putting Fort Worth Roots together like three weeks before Lucas and i sat down for our recording. Maybe more like five or six weeks im not sure. We do our recording and then about 4 weeks before i launch Fort Worth Roots , Lucas has already launched ANOTHER podcast !! Freakin animal ! Whatever..Anyway its called HorrorFul and this is a link to the trailer on Spotify!https://open.spotify.com/episode/6VYhjeX9lPnmgjamHWdPqp?si=2M1EujGIRwi1YSx94W_wSwLucas. You rock. Thank you sir and id love to have you and Andy on real soon.Stay classy.
One the most intriguing parts about Blue October's fans is this thing we call the "Blue Family." It's not something that is easily describable but once you experience it, you know it's real. In talking with other fans one thing that came up often was this connection that is felt with others who also experience the music, or the concerts, or Justin's journey and story. Once you know another person is a Blue October fan - boom, the connection is instantaneous. In this episode I focused more on what is behind that, and what others have felt in this same sense. This is a story of love, heartache, triumph, and the fight within the human spirit. Christine’s love for Blue October was born from her husband’s personal battle, and that love would come to be the light when her world got very dark. I first connected with Christine because she had shared an image I loved on a Blue October Facebook page. We talked at the end of last year, and I knew her story was incredible right from the beginning. What we didn’t know at the time is how challenging life could get and how those challenges would help to bring family even closer. Background music provided courtesy of Jaxon John. One of the most moving and impacting songs from Blue October - after hearing it, Fear takes a special place in every fan's heart. The music, the beat, and those incredible lyrics are so unique and really tell a beautiful story of triumph.
