Get ready to rock with this episode of Teaser Talk featuring a lively chat with Austin Meade, recorded live at Day 2 of Rocklahoma—America's biggest Labor Day weekend party! Austin shares his incredible journey from playing tiny restaurant gigs for enchiladas to rocking some of the biggest music festivals like Rocklahoma and Welcome to Rockville. He dives into how his performances have evolved over the years, credits his success to building the right team, and reflects on the creative process behind crafting songs that truly connect with his fans. We also dig into Austin's latest single, "Insignificant Other," a pop-punk-inspired track with raw storytelling and irresistible hooks. He talks about the collaboration with Sam and Lance from TROIIO Revival and what it's like creating music that serves as a mini-vacation for listeners. Looking ahead, Austin hints at exciting new projects, including an acoustic Christmas tour that'll showcase raw, stripped-down versions of his songs, and even a dabble into Christmas classics done his way. Plus, he teases plenty of new music on the horizon. If you're into behind-the-scenes stories, killer guitar riffs, and the unapologetic chaos of festival life, this episode is for you. Don't miss Austin's heartfelt advice on staying grounded and being present, both on stage and in life. Tune in to hear everything from festival shenanigans to the passion behind creating music for the "working man."

Join me for this bonus episode as we go back in time to this years Upheaval Festival to chat with Jason Hook of FlatBlack, Austin Meade and Christoper and Walter of Stabbing Westward. Jason and I talk about FlatBlack's debut album, which had dropped that day. How it's been getting out on the road to play songs no one really knows, adding a live album to the deluxe edition of the vinyl, and how important it was to make this feel like a band versus Jason and hired guns and more. Austin and I get cozy in the bands locker room dressing area, and talk about his tireless work ethic. Balancing out being a new dad and marriage in addition to all the writing and touring he does, and how it's been to own your own bus and fixing it when it breaks down and more as we catch up with Austin following his set. Lastly, get in the van with Christopher, Walter and I as we chat with the Stabbing Westward guys before their set, and talk about the band kinda being back now, the resurgence it seems they are on, and getting to bed a part of a lot of various festivals. How some have been tagging them as nu metal, even though they were around before that. Chris and Walt open up about what got them back together, and what we can expect from them moving forward. Drew Cagle & The Reputation is a High Energy, No Apologies, National Touring Hard Rock Band from Champaign, IL.In the beginning, the band's cultivating stage presence and artistic vision set them apart from the other touring bands in the Midwest. They released their debut album “Haunted” on Oct. 31st, 2021. The independently released record quickly reached a quarter of a million streams within its first months by highlighting the band's ability to create songs with catchy hooks, big choruses, raw emotion, and meaningful lyrics that tell a story.Throughout the following years, DC&R solidified themselves as one of the top “must see live” rock bands in the US performing alongside artists like Puddle of Mudd, Living Colour, Warrant, Slaughter, Lita Ford, Head East, L.A Guns, Trapt, Great White, Humble Pie, Escape The Fate, Doyle (The Misfits), The Black Moods, Austin Meade, and more. If you haven't discovered the music from Austin Meade, this podcast should intrigue you to listen. The Texas native has established himself as a story-driven songwriter whose latest album Abstract Art of an Unstable Mind showcases his work. Blackout is Austin Meade's single that debuted on the Rock 30 late 2023. According to Austin, the inspiration came to him after attending a Jelly Roll showcase. He received the VIP treatment and and as he put it, "I'm having a good time until I'm not." With a passion for cinematic narratives, the video pays homage to the film Fight Club. I met Austin Meade at The Haute Spot in Cedar Park, TX several months ago. Austin's Dad made sure that the meeting happened as he has been very influential in helping expand the awareness of his brand and music. Austin will share some great stories on the powerful influence his father has had on him since day one!
Texas alt-blues-rock songwriter and bonafide rockstar Austin Meade pops on to say hi. Drinking a beer and talking rock and roll, the way it should be. Honestly though has his new song "Blackout" continues to rise up the charts I thought it was a good time to get an introduction to a guy who's breathing a breath of fresh air into the modern rock landscape by doing it his way and "not giving a f***" what anyone thinks.
While major summer festival announcements are coming in fast and furious, I dig deep into the Roadcase Vault and dream of warm summer days with four previously unreleased in-person interviews I did at last year's Lollapalooza 2023 featured on this week's episode.First up is Texas rocker and legendary road dog Austin Meade who is now a new Dad, having welcomed his son into the world shortly after I spoke to him, and is just coming off a major North American Fall tour in support of Dirty Honey. His most recent album, Abstract Art of an Unstable Mind, sets a high bar for creative exploration in the rock genre.Next, I had a super fun conversation with Chicago-native Deanna Belos of Sincere Engineer. Having begun her journey in pursuit of a career in dentistry, Deanna explains to me how she quickly discovered that the straight route was just not for her. Solo gigs quickly became a full band effort and Deanna talks to me about her personal and quirky lyrical style in full display on Sincere Engineer's latest album, Cheap Grills. In the third slot, I talk to Danny Davis of Husbands who is no stranger to change. Recently, he parted ways with his longtime collaborator and bandmate, Will Norton, quit his job as a software engineer to pursue music full-time, and moved to Costa Rica. Danny talks to me about how happy he is to have managed to create a new life for himself while doing what he loves. Husbands' latest album, Cuatro, is a testament to the power of change and the pitfalls therein.Lastly, I spoke to Axel Ellis, Hunter Olshefke, and Sal Defilippis of Ax and the Hatchetmen. These young Chicago-natives are Lollapalooza rookies and talk to me about what that means having grown up fans of their massive hometown festival. Exciting things are yet to come for this enthusiastic and tight-knit group as they continue to turn on their fans with their infectious energy. For more information on Roadcase: https://linktr.ee/roadcasepod and https://www.roadcasepod.comContact: info@roadcasepod.comRoadcase theme music: "Eugene (Instrumental)" by Waltzer

The latest addition to the Loudwire Nights Artist Spotlight series is Austin Meade, who opens up about his new song, "Blackout."
Born & Raised in Southern Oklahoma, Adara Kay found her grit and rock energy the first time she stepped on stage in 2018. Since then, she has perfected a high energy performance that watchers will remember down the road. She's been able to not only share the stage with other independent artists, but she's also been able to introduce new songwriters from other states into the Oklahoma music scene. Influenced by Country & Rock artists like Koe Wetzel, Giovannie & The Hired Guns, The Wight Lighters, Larkin Poe, Dorothy, and more, Adara Kay was inspired to put her spin on the genres to create a sense of freedom, carefree, and badass affirmations for all to appreciate. Not only has she opened for Casey Donahew, Sundance Head, and Jackson Taylor & the Sinners, but she's also opened up for Austin Meade, Them Dirty Roses, and Cam Allen, not including the many festivals including Calf Fry, Outside City Limits, Top of OK Jam, Old Bolivar Songwriting Festival, and more she's played .

On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Austin Meade, an artist who brings his unique rock sound to the stage. Austin Meade shares his thoughts on his name, recounting how people often mispronounce it as "med" instead of "mead." With a playful spirit, he discusses his outfit for Welcome to Rockville, donning a rubber ducky bathing suit and top combo gifted by his mother on his 30th birthday. This lighthearted attire captures the Florida vibe of the event. Austin Meade expresses his excitement about performing at Welcome to Rockville and the Daytona Speedway, highlighting the honor of sharing the stage with renowned acts such as Blackstone Cherry, Trivium, Pusser, and Rob Zombie. Humorously, he mentions opening up the pit for them and promises a wild experience. The conversation touches on driving on the speedway, with Austin reminiscing about a previous trip and joking about his fear of flipping over. The discussion turns to Austin Meade's current projects, including touring with Godsmack and I Prevail. He describes the interesting lineup arrangement, where they perform on different days but come together again on Sunday. During the break, he plans to enjoy the beach with his wife and catch a performance by Hardy. Austin reflects on the opportunities he has had, such as opening for ZZ Top on their 50th-anniversary tour, emphasizing the ability to win over diverse crowds as a testament to his versatility as a rock artist. The conversation concludes with Austin Meade discussing his musical style and his upcoming song release, "Blackout." He expresses excitement about this new step in production and the support he receives from his team. However, he acknowledges that the ultimate judge of his success is the audience. Episode 191 features my guests The Brown Goose from Tallahassee Florida. They are a 5 piece rock outfit whose latest album is called “This Is The Way." I featured their hit song “Courthouse” which we talked about in the conversation. I also slapped on another new song of their's called “Runnin' The Streets.” This is the first of 3 episodes that I was able to do while playing South By Southwest in Austin last week. So it will be a mini-series of sorts. You can catch The Brown Goose band likely touring around your city sometime soon. Their next big shows are The Handlebar in Pensacola, FL April 16 opening for Austin Meade, as well as The Tallahassee Wine Mixer on March 25. Landon calls in to talk about Joe Rogan, MMA, Koe Wetzel, Austin Meade, and his upcoming music!!!
Mason Marek is the embodiment of a true-blooded, blue-collared artist and musician. From New Ulm, Texas, Mason grew up playing with his grandpa, Gaylen, across the state. Early on, he began writing short stories while surrounded by true, genuine Texas Country Music. This storytelling passion would one day become the foundation for his songwriting. After the passing of his grandfather, Mason's love for playing faded as he lost the one who introduced him to music. During this period, he would have to deal with the loss of several other close family members. After he graduated, he began to find music again and rediscovered his passion. However, death would come again as his best friend of 17 years suddenly passed away. This time, however, it would be different. The music stayed and helped Mason cope with the losses he's experienced. He began to express his feelings in his lyrics and decided to record his songs as a symbol of starting a new chapter in life.In 2018, Drifter found its way to top 15 of the Texas Music Spotify Charts. Opportunity has allowed him to open for many well-established Texas artists such as Randy Rogers, Sunny Sweeney, Micky & The Motorcars and Austin Meade.Today, Mason is taking his band, The Drifters, and chasing that Texas Red Dirt Scene, following the footsteps of his grandfather. Learning the same lessons his grandpa once learned, making the same mistakes, and chasing the same dream.https://www.facebook.com/MasonMarekMusic91/https://www.instagram.com/masonmarekandthedrifters/?hl=enhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/6JgLCTQ5qWyPLl480gCbjyhttps://twitter.com/masonmarek
Austin joins us to catch up from the last time he was on the show, which is interesting since he was recording the album that is about to come out now. We talk about living the best of both lives of a musician where he gets to write and record while still also touring a bunch, and how not normal that is within the business. Austin reveals how he went about writing this new album from a lyrical perspective, the fun of word play within lyric writing and touring some legends like ZZ Top and finding the middle ground of playing an opening slot for 30 mins versus getting to play a 2 hour headline set. Austin also dives into the trilogy of music videos he released and telling a story between them all, if he ever wants to get into directing/acting himself as well as how he makes songs with lines that are "shirt worthy" and much more in this chat. In music, Evolution is less a natural progression and more an earnest commitment to change. Austin’s self described “work in progress” sound (rock, country, Texas, who knows) feels like a window into an artist’s narrative. His laser sharp focus on lyricism and evoking emotion leaves you wondering, “If this is now, what’s next?”. Earlier this […]

THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST - The Premier Red Dirt, Texas Country and Independent Music Podcast
At the ripe old age of twenty-six, Texas and Americana Music Rock and Roller, Austin Meade, is carving out his own niche in the independent music scene. Austin's latest record, "Waves" has all the vibe, feel and look of 1970s, all the way down to the look of the front-man. Despite his relatively young age, Austin has four records under his belt and is quickly solidifying himself as an authentic artist that's here to stay. In this interview we learn how Austin's father, a Baptist preacher, was a fan of some 70's greats including Styx and .38 Special which bled over into Austin's taste in music and is partially responsible for the direction he's taken with his own music. While attending college in College Station, Texas, Austin was introduced to Texas Country and Red Dirt Music along with the artists making up the genre. For a love of music, drums and guitar, Austin soon found himself trying to subtly introduce himself to folks like William Clark Green, Randy Rogers and Cross Canadian Ragweed frontman, Cody Canada. By developing these relationships with these type of artists, Austin has gained the respect of many of his peers in the music business; so much so that Austin now teaches guitar for Cody Canada at the local School of Rock for youngsters. We expect to see great things in the future out of this genuine, hard-working rocker. Self described as Americana Rock & Roll, Austin Meade is a young Texas musician with a tenacious attitude that is only eclipsed by his music and stage performances.

Our in-studio conversation with Austin Meade Music is legit. We discuss everything from his new dog, Hayes, to going to Iron Maiden concerts with his dad, who is a Baptist preacher. The host, Drew Myers, stands on his soapbox about using the word "busy" and he shares his rappelling adventure.
Austin Meade may be the hottest thing on the Texas Country Music scene. He has caught fire in a short amount of time. Was it fearless or reckless for him to jump into music with both feet right after college graduation? I try to convince him that it was 100 percent fearless (and it's inspiring).
