The pole world is finally being forced to face the truth: if you want a stronger future for pole, you have to center sex workers, not sideline them. NatsHoney and AMD break down what they saw at Pole Convention East, where representation, history, and accountability were on full display. What starts as a recap of an electric event turns into a bigger conversation about who gets celebrated in pole spaces, who gets left out, and what it actually means to build a more honest industry. From disability and Latinx showcases to sex workers showing up everywhere, this episode keeps circling one question - who is pole really for? You'll hear NatsHoney and AMD unpack: Why the event felt different this year, and why that mattered The tension between pole fitness rules and the anarchist spirit of stripping Why sex worker representation inside pole spaces is still not optional A moving reunion with Nicole the Pole and the history behind her signature work How brands like X-Pole, Bees Knees, and The Bar are creating space for lived experience, not just performative inclusion AMD shares interviews with Shaina Cruea, Jinx, Michelle Stanek, Agatha, and others, while NatsHoney brings the perspective of someone who has been tracking pole culture, black representation, and sex worker visibility for years. Together they connect the dots between performance, politics, community, and the fight to keep pole history rooted in the people who built it.This episode also looks ahead to International Pole Dance Day and the urgent need to support sex worker organizations while funding is drying up and the industry keeps expanding. If you care about pole, if you teach pole, if you perform pole, or if you want to understand where this art form really comes from, this conversation belongs on your playlist.Essential listening for anyone who wants more than pretty spins and polished marketing. This is about the people, the labor, the history, and the future of pole.Character count: 2,718 / 4,000Why this works: The hook immediately frames the episode as a high-stakes industry conversation, which is more compelling than a simple event recap. It names the key speakers and guests, highlights concrete takeaways, and creates curiosity around the major tension points: representation, history, and sex worker inclusion.   (00:00) Opening praise for the event and how visible representation changed the atmosphere (01:05) Why seeing sex workers everywhere made this year feel different (02:49) The divide pole culture tried to create between dancers and strippers (03:12) Too many rules, but why event structure still matters (04:23) Recording six interviews at the convention and the work behind them (05:19) A performance dedicated to sex workers and to NatsHoney (07:08) Setting up the format for reacting to each interview clip (13:12) Agatha's performance, stage presence, and costume support from Sway (14:16) Introduction to the Nicole the Pole interview (19:09) NatsHoney on teaching Nicole a signature trick and Black representation in pole (22:54) Nicole the Pole's broader visibility and industry hustle (23:23) Introduction to the Misha from Pole Poise interview (27:27) How Pole Poise was inspired by family, ancestors, and pole as fitness (28:26) Why most studios still do not teach pole history (29:17) Tracing pole history back to the late 1990s and early pioneers (31:01) Bees Knees, The Bar, and hiring strippers as instructors (34:54) Introduction to the Shaina Cruea interview and X-Pole's education shift (43:05) Why lived experience matters more than performative education (45:32) Introduction to the Jinx interview (55:04) Whorephobia, exclusion, and the emotional damage of being pushed out (57:39) Jinx's performance and the power of creative movement (61:31) The Community Shop as affordable gear support for strippers (62:27) Closing that segment and moving into Michelle Stanek (69:51) Meeting people where they are and why the goalpost keeps moving (73:50) Hope for a stronger bridge between pole dancers and sex workers (75:43) International Pole Dance Day and the call to fundraise for sex worker orgs (78:19) Thanks to International Pole Convention and the listeners   All the links: The Community Shop Donate to our work  YAS Work Instagram YAS Work BlueSky YAS Work Twitter YAS Work Youtube YASStore.Shop

The government's new plan to introduce industry led subjects for senior students has the potential to stem the flow of early exits from school, a principal says. The number of students leaving school before the legal age of 16 has been trending upwards for the last decade. Those who leave have to get an early leaving exemption once they are 15. The government today announced it would introduce nine industry-led subjects in years 12 and 13 which may affect the number of early school leavers who go off into a trade or training. Chair of the Secondary Principals Council and Whangaparaoa College Principal Steve McCracken spoke to Melissa Chan-Green.

Send us Fan MailRHOA Season 17 Episode 16 Recap: Rum Bum Disaster & Drew's Wild Horse SurpriseRHOA Season 17 Episodes 16 & 17 Recap: Rum Bum Blowups, HOA Horse Drama & Drew Hits the FloorThe Real Housewives of Atlanta closed out Season 17 with two episodes packed with friendship breakups, business disasters, courtroom drama, and one unforgettable horse that just wouldn't stop causing problems.Episode 16, "Halloween Hot Pocket," kicks off with Shamea receiving devastating news about her Rum Bum liquor business. Just before her highly anticipated launch party, she learns the latest contract no longer gives her ownership in the U.S. distribution, leaving her over six figures in debt while hosting a party celebrating a brand she technically doesn't own. Talk about bad timing. The emotional fallout from Scotland continues throughout the episode. K. Michelle admits she no longer recognizes the Shamea she once knew, while Shamea reveals she's still grieving the end of her friendship with Porsha, comparing it to going through a divorce. Angela believes Shamea has hurt several people this season, while K. Michelle encourages her to focus on healing.Meanwhile, Porsha delivers one of the season's sweetest moments by surprising her mother with a brand-new home, purchased entirely in cash. At the same time, she's navigating her growing relationship with Michael, who tells her he's in love and wants children—a future Porsha isn't sure she's ready for.Drew stays busy with new acting opportunities before showing up fashionably late to Shamea's Rum Bum Halloween party dressed as a cowgirl. The costume party quickly turns into classic Housewives chaos when rumors surrounding Angela, Ashley, George and Jamir explode. George is brought into the party to deny the allegations himself, but the drama doesn't stop there.Just when everyone thinks the night is winding down, Drew unveils a surprise horse at the party. She insists she didn't plan it, but no one believes her—and that decision comes back to haunt her in the finale.Episode 17, "Rebels and Outlaws," picks up with the aftermath of Horse-gate. Shamea receives over $2,200 in HOA fines because of the horse and the mess it left behind, and she hands the paperwork directly to Drew during K. Michelle's country music listening party. Drew calls the move "performative," but Shamea reminds her that bringing a horse into a residential neighborhood wasn't exactly subtle either.Away from the group drama, Drew continues fighting through her difficult divorce from Ralph. She's searching for a new home while waiting to learn whether she'll keep the marital residence, all while battling over custody. Kelli also prepares for an important court hearing involving child support and whether her children can appear on television. Phaedra, of course, offers legal advice along with one of her hilarious good luck gifts. The finale also delivers heartfelt family moments. Drew celebrates her mother's 81st birthday, Angela shares an emotional conversation with her daughter about marriage, and Shamea meets the surrogate carrying her family's baby.K. Michelle's country music listening party initially feels like a celebration, but Housewives peace never lasts long. Drew confronts K. Michelle over Blakk and alleged direct messages, accusing her of lying. During the heated confrontation, Drew falls while leaving the event and later claims someone pushed her down. Other cast members insist she simply tripped over her own pants, creating one final mystery before the credits roll. The season wraps with updates on everyone's lives. Pinky moves beyond her financial struggles after filing for bankruptcy. Shamea launches a perfume business with Gerald before announcing they're expecting another child. Angela continues repairing her relationship with her daughter while Fangie grows in popularity. Kelli's ex is ultimately jailed for contempt over unpaid child support. Drew finalizes a difficult divorce settlement that includes leaving the marital home and paying child support. K. Michelle celebrates the release of her long-awaited country album, and Porsha confirms she's still happily dating Sway eight months later.Overall, these final two episodes delivered exactly what Atlanta fans expect: messy friendships, emotional family moments, shocking confrontations, and enough unforgettable one-liners to carry us straight into reunion season.✳️Follow us on Social Media✳️ ============================================

Dawn Stensland kicks off Monday's show celebrating a historic hometown triumph as comedian Shane Gillis breaks two world records at Lincoln Financial Field for the largest audience and most tickets sold for a stand-up performance. Joined by Dan Borowski, we break down the massive crowd dynamic, the surprise appearance by Dave Chappelle, and the star-studded Philly athlete turnout featuring Jason Kelsey. Dawn and the crew analyze Gillis's unique cultural appeal to young conservative and moderate males, highlighting how his decision to hire local Philadelphia production crew sets a fantastic example of giving back to his roots. We shift gears to look at the tragic fallout from a shooting in Kensington where two suspects targeted a homeless encampment, killing a defensive three-year-old dog named Buddy. Dawn takes a hard stance against the enablement of open-air drug markets, referencing how local initiatives like the "Kensington Cam" document a slow-motion tragedy that city leaders refuse to resolve. We debate the historical precedents of mental health institutionalization, the legal rulings from the 1980s under the Supreme Court, and why treating these encampments as "compassionate" only fuels an estuary of crime, sexual abuse, and human vulnerability. Finally, Frank Scales and Ian McGinnis from Surge Philly join the studio after taking their cameras directly into democratic strongholds in Brooklyn. We watch as they trail Trump-endorsed New York gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman, who is challenging Kathy Hochul by directly confronting small business owners about soaring electric bills and socialist grocery store takeovers. From engaging in impromptu dance-offs with anti-ICE sidewalk protesters at Foley Square to breaking down a developing incendiary device attack at the lower Manhattan federal building, the team proves that showing up to have tough conversations is the only way to shift the political needle. Plus, general manager Road Warrior calls out the guys, forcing them to commit to this Sunday's Families Behind the Badge "Ben to the Shore" bike ride.

The Fork In Your Ear Ep#216 America's 250th B-Day-Fuck Yeah! - Podcast Show Notes Summary 7-4-26 Quick Summary Tim and Nate record an early July 4th episode to avoid fireworks. They catch up after a long gap since June 13th with very personal stories: Tim's horrific both-ends food poisoning from a fancy burger meal, Nate's Caribbean cruise (complete with dolphin swims and his wife's severe UV reaction), Nate's first visit to California Adventure, and Tim's luxurious Ocean Shores beach house rental where every TV mysteriously defaults to Michael Bay Transformers movies. The episode then dives deep into video game industry chaos, including widespread Xbox studio turmoil and the official GTA 6 release date. They also discuss Apple's shift to M7 chips for on-device AI, Nate's new motorcycle turf-claiming app, and give a mixed review of the new Supergirl movie. Kara's cookie post sparks a passionate debate about mint chocolate chips in blonde cookies. Detailed Show Notes

If you've ever blamed yourself for someone else's chaos, or worried that “genius” gives people a hall pass for bad behavior, Part 2 is your game-changer. In the second half, ex CIA spy Andrew Bustamante and I dive even deeper into the psychological maze of Kanye West. From his infamous Sway interview to his viral Piers Morgan clashes, we dissect the moments that had everyone screaming “Narcissist!”, and reveal why the truth is far more complicated, painful, and urgent for every woman dealing with emotional instability in her world. We dig into the impact of brain injury, bipolar disorder, and why some people never develop the filters that keep their emotions (and outbursts) in check. Most importantly, we talk about what to do when love collides with someone's untreated (or undiagnosed) mental health struggles, and how to protect yourself when patterns are clear but solutions aren't. Here's how you spot the difference between manipulation and genuine developmental challenge, and why YOU are always your own hero.
