The Dad Edge Podcast (formerly The Good Dad Project Podcast)
Justin Gaston is an American actor, singer, songwriter, and model who built his career in multiple fields. Justin Gaston has been ruling over millions of hearts with his incredibly amazing performances and this led him to earn various awards and honors in his career. In this episode of the Dad Edge Podcast, Larry Hagner sits down with Justin Gaston and talks about his own experience with infertility and the impact it had on their marriage. He shared how they initially struggled to conceive and had to seek medical assistance. The process was filled with uncertainty and setbacks, but eventually, they were able to conceive their first child. However, their journey didn't end there, as they went on to have four more children in quick succession. Feeling a deep desire to become parents, the couple turned to prayer and sought guidance from their faith. Adoption had always been on the wife's heart, and they felt that God was calling them to pursue this path. They prayed for guidance and support throughout the adoption process. From the moment they decided to adopt to the time their oldest daughter was placed in their arms in the hospital, only four months had passed. The speed and smoothness of the adoption process were seen as a blessing and a sign that it was meant to be. Throughout his journey, Justin has learned to pray for guidance and direction from God. He no longer needs to see the whole picture but asks for one step at a time. This mindset is a testament to his faith and willingness to surrender control to God. He recognizes that certainty is a basic human need, but he has chosen to trust in God's plan instead of seeking complete certainty in his own life. Concluding the interview, Justin's upbringing in a loving and stable family, with parents who demonstrated love and affection, shaped his values of respect, kindness, and commitment in relationships. Justin's upbringing serves as a reminder of the impact that family, love, and support can have on shaping an individual's values and character. www.thedadedge.com/friday113 www.1stphorm.com/dadedge

More and more people are watching shows on the Food Network these days, for entertainment and learning how to cook. Now, a group of church youth in Georgia are having their own cooking competition show to raise money for a ministry and important cause that you'll learn a lot about from this week's uber-talented guest, a new father and pastor, on a podcast that we hope you love and SUBSCRIBE to. (6:19) After some fun clips of him cooking and the competition he's organizing...you'll meet Justin Gaston, student ministries director at North Highland Church in Columbus GA. We talk first about his passion for making videos that get people to smile, a way to tell stories like he does in sermons too. The vids can be serious or random and funny, like one that went viral several years ago called "Christmas in Columbus." Technology makes it easier for all of us to be storytellers! And he says it opens windows for him to talk about his church job and share the Lord with others. (16:08) The 1st of 8 streaming episodes of STL Kitchen (Speed The Light Kitchen) premieres Friday, November 18 on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100087561967498 and on YouTube: https://youtu.be/7RcZ_4Zx45s. It's a cooking competition between 10 local church youth. Their goal is to raise $100,000 for "Project Rescue" to help build a school that's getting women and children out of sex slavery. Here's how and where you can donate to that and these young chefs supporting this cause: https://stlkitchen.org/. (24:41) Justin is also a husband and a new dad to their son Zion, born last Spring, with ministry being a family affair and church loving on them - like they should everybody. How does he balance church and home life and running a video business? It's discipline with his calendar, which includes intentional time for...his wife, reading the Bible, making cool videos. (36:15) Wanting to be the best version of himself, Justin also lost 30 pounds 3 years ago, when he was in his late 20s. What was his main motivations? How did he do it? Hint: it involved carbs and a personal trainer, which he highly recommends using. Since then, he's been improved spiritually and physically (46:15) After we talk some more about how Speed the Light will use the money raised through the STL Kitchen cooking competition show, Justin talks about all the smart, quick cooking videos he's been making lately on his Instagram page - his favorite things to cook lately and new things he's made, like funnel cakes. Favorite "cheat" foiods? (50:36) After our chat, "Food for Thought" is my favorite things to eat on Thanksgiving, and also my go-to foods for before and after long runs or races...then closing in prayer. Thanks for listening to the #RunTheRace podcast! Also, write a quick review about it, on Apple podcasts. For more info, go to www.wtvm.com/podcast/.

On today's episode of Daytime Confidential Luke and Jamey are offering up a sneak peek at their upcoming spinoff podcast, Pop Confidential! Check out their exclusive podcast interview with Justin Gaston and Kara Killmer, two of the stars of one of the hottest shows on Hulu, If I Can Dream, from American Idol creator Simon Fuller. If I Can Dream is an interactive, 24-hour-a-day, docusoap following the lives of a group of aspiring singers, models and actors, all living together in a SoCal "Dream House". Did we mention the Dream House is equipped with 60 AXIS cameras, which follow the casts every move? This fact caused the Dream House to turn into a nightmare for one of the show's leads. On May 8, former NFL cheerleader and Playboy bunny, Amanda Phillips left the Dream House after declaring she could no longer deal with the show infringing on her personal life. We get reactions from Justin and Kara about how it felt to see their friend move out. The pair also dishes about what it's like to now be living with former American Idol contestant Alex Lambert, who recently moved into the house, adding a much needed bad boy to the mix! We also hear Justin react to gossip blogger Perez Hilton (who recently visited the house) saying he believes the public perceives the Pineville, Louisiana native and celeb blog staple as being merely the ex-boyfriend of MileyCyrus, who likes to take his clothes off and isn't very "bright". You'll wanna tune in to hear the former Nashville Star contestant address those claims and reveal how he's working to change people's misconceptions of him by focusing everything he has on his singing career. Gaston and Killmer also weigh in on how a pair of good, Christian kids from the South (Killmer is from Crowley, Texas, just a hop, skip and a jump from Jamey's hometown) manage to stay grounded in L.A., a town where sex, seduction and commercialism rule the day. After you listen to the podcast, head on over to Hulu to watch this week's 30-minute installment of If I Can Dream, with special guest star Perez Hilton. To watch the talented, sexy inhabitants of the Dream House day or night, visit If I Can Dream's official website.
