Garden of Favor Podcast: Mindset Strategy & Kingdom Blueprints for Christian Female Entrepreneurs
In this insightful episode of the Seek First CEO podcast, host Heather Shriver Burns delves into the pivotal topic of integrating faith and business for Christian entrepreneurs. As a seasoned speaker, coach, and spiritual guide, Heather addresses critical issues like whether to be overt or covert about faith in business settings, how to reconcile charging for services with the concept of ministry, and the often-felt guilt associated with financial aspects in faith-based enterprises. This episode is particularly enlightening for kingdom-minded businesspeople striving to infuse their entrepreneurial pursuits with their faith, effectively becoming the hands and feet of Jesus in their professional environments. Key takeaways include understanding the concept of 'business-try' - representing the calling of every believer in business to minister through their work, and practical strategies for honoring God in business, whether overtly or covertly. Listeners will find valuable action items, including discerning the right approach to faith in their business, addressing guilt in charging for services, and an invitation to join Heather's faith-based business community for further mentoring and growth. This episode is a must-listen for those seeking to align their business ethos with biblical truths and live out their entrepreneurial calling with spiritual integrity. About Heather: Meet Heather Shriver Burns, a beacon of guidance and a Businesstry Mentor dedicated to empowering Christian entrepreneurs. Her calling is to support individuals who aspire to serve others through their gifts and passions while making an indelible impact on the Kingdom of God. Heather's expertise lies in teaching entrepreneurs how to collaborate with the Divine, maintain a steadfast focus on Him, and draw strength from His presence as they nurture their businesses for His glory. Once the architect of a thriving 8-figure company, Heather's journey wasn't without its trials. She wrestled with understanding how to intertwine her business acumen with a partnership with God. Through significant loss, Heather uncovered the most valuable lessons of her life, realizing the necessity of placing God at the forefront to fulfill her calling. Heather's transformative experience led her to a profound truth: true impact begins when God leads the way. By silencing the world's noise and seeking God with all her being, Heather adopted a lifestyle of surrender and partnership with God, aligning her work with His calling on her life. Her revelations are clear and compelling: True success does not require sacrificing family, rest, or mental health. The dreams instilled by God should not be forsaken due to fear or reluctance. A sense of paralysis, a desire to do more but being shackled by uncertainty, is not the destiny of God's children. Crafted to FLOW in sync with God's rhythms, Heather Shriver Burns exemplifies faith-driven entrepreneurship. Heather offers a path of wisdom and empowerment for those eager to delve into their potential and merge their business endeavors with spiritual intent. She invites all to join her on this divinely charted journey towards a harmonious blend of business and faith. https://www.heathershriverburns.com/ https://www.facebook.com/seekfirstceo https://www.instagram.com/heathershriverburns/
When I joined a group of Christian children’s book authors who prayed for one another and helped spread the word about each other’s books, some people said we were “foolish for working with competitors.” But our group was committed to kingdom-minded leadership and promoting community, not competition. We shared the same goal—spreading the gospel. We served the same King—Jesus. Together, we’re reaching more people with our witness for Christ. When God asked Moses to choose seventy elders with leadership experience, He said, “I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them. They will share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone” (Numbers 11:16–17). Later, Joshua saw two of the elders prophesying and told Moses to stop them. Moses said, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them” (v. 29). Any time we focus on competition or comparisons that hinder us from working with others, the Holy Spirit can empower us to shrug off that temptation. When we ask God to nurture kingdom-minded leadership in us, He spreads the gospel around the world and can even lighten our loads as we serve Him together.
