POPULARITY
When it comes to following Jesus, more specifically concerning our topic, the first thing any disciple has to get settled is the reality that God's word is exactly that: GOD SPEAKING TO HIS CREATION. Which means that if we're ever going to get to the place where we minister healing like Jesus did, this is foundational. THE WORD OF GOD IS THE WILL OF GOD
REVELATION CHANGES WHAT YOU SEE WHEN YOU SEE GOD AS YOUR SOURCE, YOU SEE MONEY DIFFERENTLY
Let's start with what Jesus told us about tithing. Remember, Jesus is the One who told us, “Give to Caesar things that are Caesar's and GIVE TO GOD THE THINGS THAT ARE GOD'S.” Leviticus 27:30 (NKJV) “ALL THE TITHE of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, IS THE LORD'S. It is HOLY to the Lord.” Listen to what Jesus said: “Give to God the things that are God's.”
You've heard me use this phrase so many times, “Until you see it, you don't,” because by design God created His word to be a living, continually progressive reality that becomes real to each of His children according to their own pace. Remember, Jesus told us, “With the measure you use it, it'll be measured back to you.” As a matter of fact the Lord told us that as we make ourselves available to Him through His word, our minds become renewed so that we can prove what is the perfect will of God in our own lives.

1 John 2:3-6 (NKJV) Now BY THIS we know that we know Him, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. 4, He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5, But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6, He who says he ABIDES in Him ought himself also to walk JUST AS HE WALKED. Knowing about Jesus is in no way the same as knowing Him.

When it comes to following Jesus, there are things He put in motion specifically designed for He our new covenant. And possibly the key component of the new covenant is the fact that it requires a believer for it to actually work. Here's something else to keep in mind, when it comes to our new covenant, as one of His children, one of His disciples, we don't have to talk God into doing something that He's already established in Jesus. Something He's already put in motion.
John 10:27, Jesus said, MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, and I KNOW THEM, and THEY FOLLOW ME. Understand, following Jesus is a reality every disciple has to grow in. And make no mistake, it'll never happen on accident.
1 John 5:11-13 (NIRV) Here is what God says about the Son. God has given us ETERNAL LIFE. And this life is found in his Son. Whoever BELONGS to the Son has life. 12, Whoever doesn't belong to the Son of God doesn't have life. 13, I'm writing these things to you who BELIEVE IN THE NAME of the Son of God. I'm writing so you will know that you have eternal life. As one of the Lord's Eternal Witnesses, according to His Word, there's only one way to ETERNAL LIFE. At the end of the day, it always comes back to believing. Absolutely everything about our new lives is built to function one way, by faith.
If God's word is a lamp unto our feet? A light for our path? If His word truth? Exactly what does His word teach us when we follow Jesus? When you follow Jesus through the scriptures, what do you see? Acts 1:1 (NKJV) The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that JESUS BEGAN both to do and teach. Jesus began to do and teach. The book of Acts is still unfolding.
1 John 5, He who BELIEVES in the Son of God has THE WITNESS in himself; and this is THE WITNESS, that God has given us ETERNAL LIFE, through His Son Jesus. Here's the thing: according to God's Word, there's only one way to ETERNAL LIFE; you have to believe in something very specific and do something very specific.

1 John 5, He who BELIEVES in the Son of God has THE WITNESS in himself; and this is THE WITNESS, that God has given us ETERNAL LIFE, through His Son Jesus. The apostle John gives us the revelation of God's Word being living spiritual reality. And by design, because of free will, the things of our eternal world all hinge on our BELIEVING what His Word reveals to each of us. It's only through His word that we get glimpses of ETERNITY.
John 10:25-27 (NKJV) Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me. 26, But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. 27, MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, and I KNOW THEM, and THEY FOLLOW ME.”
Romans 10:13-17 (NKJV) Whoever CALLS on the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14, How then shall they CALL on Him in whom they have not BELIEVED? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not HEARD? And how shall they hear without a PREACHER? 15, And how shall they preach unless they are SENT… 17, So then FAITH comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Think about it, if our life is hidden in Him, if the fullness of God lives in us, if He took our infirmities, bore our sickness, since He's already established Himself as the Lord who heals, how are we supposed to respond? What's that supposed to look like?
In John's gospel, Jesus said, I am THE WAY, and no one comes to the FATHER except through Me. If you've seen Me you've seen the FATHER. Believe Me, I am in the FATHER and the FATHER is in Me. And I pray for those who will believe in Me, that they all may be one, as You, FATHER, are in Me, and I in You; THAT THEY MAY HE ONE IN US, that the world may believe that You sent Me. Possibly one of the greatest revelations a believer can comprehend is, “that they may be one in Us” Make no mistake, the “In Christ” life, at the end of the day is THE ETERNAL WITNESS, commissioned by the Master Himself. After all, according to Revelation 3, These things says THE AMEN, THE FAITHFUL and TRUE WITNESS, the Beginning of the creation of God.
Spiritual realities are voice-activated. “Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth.” “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” so without question, right believing will produces right speaking. But since we are spiritual people, according to this passage, right speaking can absolutely influence our believing.
Remember, “God is the Holy One, who inhabits eternity.” Our prayer with this talk is that we allow the apostle John's revelation to give us a fresh, BORN-AGAIN, eternal perspective. You've gotta wrap your head around this, right now, regardless of your beliefs, you are an eternal being.
He who BELIEVES in the Son of God has THE WITNESS in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the TESTIMONY that God has given of His Son. 1 John 5:10-12 (NKJV) 11, And this is the TESTIMONY: that God has given us ETERNAL LIFE, and this life is in His Son. 1 John 5:10-12 (NKJV) 12, He who has the Son has LIFE; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:10-12 (NKJV)
Romans 4, ABRAHAM BELIEVED in God who gives life to the dead and CALLS THOSE THINGS which do not exist as though they did; ABRAHAM BELIEVED, and became the father of nations. So NOT BEING WEAK IN FAITH, he did not consider his own body, He DID NOT WAVER AT THE PROMISE of God through unbelief, but was STRENGTHENED IN FAITH, giving glory to God, And being FULLY CONVINCED that what GOD HAD PROMISED He was also able to perform.
Let's start with this, Pentecost— “Feast of Weeks” celebration of the harvest, right after Passover, where the first fruit offerings were brought to the Lord. It's also when the Law was given to the children of Israel. It simply means the fiftieth. 50 days after Resurrection Sunday came Pentecost Sunday. This event was so significant that Jesus told the disciples that it was better for them if He leave so that the Holy Spirit could come. John 16:7 (AMP) “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, THE HELPER (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him, the Holy Spirit to you to be in close fellowship with you.”
Embracing the reality that we are redeemed by Christ alone. He has declared us His, through His sacrifice, by His purpose and for His purpose. This is what makes baptism such a powerful testimony. And I'm telling you, this side of Heaven, baptism is one of the most Heavenly things we can do.
1 John 3:1 (NKJV) BEHOLD what manner of LOVE the Father HAS BESTOWED on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. I know this is crazy, but what if as we continue growing in His love for us, His commandments simply become part of who we are
Here's where the majority of today's Christians struggle: we don't relate AUTHORITY with RESPONSIBILITY. In other words, when we fail to exercise our God-ordained authority, we basically limit God's predestined plan.
For example, think about a mom's love, this side of Heaven I don't know that there's anything closer to representing THE LOVE OF GOD. So today as we honor moms, just maybe we let their example of love inspire us to lean in to our Heavenly Father's love. For God so loved you…
I am seeing believers attack motives of other believers faster than they search the Scriptures. I am seeing Christians tear down other Christians, not always over clear biblical error, but over assumptions, suspicions, reactions, emotion, party alignment, denominations. and whatever side of an issue they think somebody is on. I am seeing fear used like a tool, especially on social media. Fear to get attention, clicks, follows, shares. Fear to get people stirred up. And so much of it centers around words like antichrist, tribulation, mark of the beast, deception, conspiracy, this is the sign, here it is, it is happening now, look at this, look at that. And while I was praying about this, I felt the Lord speak something to my heart when I asked why is this happening among believers? Many Christians today are biblically illiterate and spiritually deaf.
Let's start with this tonight: should spiritually alive people be different from spiritually dead people? Colossians 3:1-3 (NKJV) If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2, Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3, For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When we died with Christ, our lives were placed in Him. Us in Him, Him in us.
Romans 8:31-32 (NKJV) What then shall we say to these things? IF GOD IS FOR US, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up FOR US all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? MSG, With GOD ON OUR SIDE like this, how can we lose? IF GOD IS FOR US! We don't have to earn His approval. Don't forget the Lord commanded His love for us while we were still sinners.
Let's remember, without faith it's impossible to please God. Remember Jesus words to Nicodemus, “unless one is born again, he cannot SEE THE KINGDOM of God.” And there's only one way someone can be born again, and that is by faith. In other words, not only is it impossible to please God without faith, it's impossible to see God without faith. Remember what faith is: a conviction based on evidence. A formal declaration. Evidence of the unseen.
Romans 8:31-32 (NKJV) What then shall we say to these things? IF GOD IS FOR US, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up FOR US all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Here's the thing, the “IF” of If GOD IS FOR US, all hinges on us actually believing that what His words says is true.
v.37, God has made us to be more than conquerors IN HIM. (Hypernikao) super victorious, confidently overpowering in victory in Christ. Why would He do this? Because, whom He PREDESTINED, He also called; whom He CALLED, He also JUSTIFIED; and whom He justified, He also GLORIFIED.
John 3:3 (NKJV) Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot SEE THE KINGDOM of God.” And here's a key for the born-again, Jesus told us, It's been given to us to know the mysteries of the Kingdom, to be able to SEE THE KINGDOM Everything surrounding the Kingdom of God hinges on this revelation; 1st, You must be born-again 2nd, The born-again only live one way YOU MUST BELIEVE— “The righteous shall live by faith.”
John 3:3 (NKJV) Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot SEE THE KINGDOM of God.” In John 8, Jesus says this, “My Kingdom is not of this world.” Like we said last week, one of the biggest challenges the born-again face isn't so much the powers of the kingdom of darkness, It's our refusal to embrace the world we're born of, embracing a way of living that is beyond humanity.
Today we celebrate the resurrection of our King. Highlighting what God started from the beginning is unfolding just as He designed it to. His eternal, Heavenly plan is without question, UNSTOPPABLE The question every individual has to come to terms with is where do you fit in His plan.
2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT) We are CHRIST'S AMBASSADORS; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” Matthew 6, FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, seek the kingdom of Heaven. Remember last week we brought up Abraham's life because Galatians 3 tells us, Since you are Christ's family, then you are Abraham's descendant and heirs according to the covenant promises.
Remember, Jesus is introducing His Kingdom to Nicodemus, a Kingdom they all had the wrong expectation of. And the first reality Jesus shares with Nicodemus is that a human must be born-again to be able to see this Kingdom. Let's ask the Holy Spirit to open our imagination, giving us access to multidimensional thinking, in other words, the ability to see this Kingdom.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (AMP) He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that IN HIM WE WOULD BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD that is, we would be MADE ACCEPTABLE to Him and placed in a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with Him by His gracious lovingkindness. 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT) We are CHRIST'S AMBASSADORS; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT) We are CHRIST'S AMBASSADORS; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” Remember Philippians, CITIZENS OF HEAVEN, members of God's House. Matthew 6:33 (AMP) “But FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness, His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God, and all these things will be given to you also.”
2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT) We are CHRIST'S AMBASSADORS; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” Remember, an ambassador is a kingdom diplomat, a skilled representative gifted in dealing with people in an effective way. As one of God's Heavenly Diplomats, we've been commissioned by our King, to represent our Kingdom with authority and honor.
Proverbs 29, Where there is no vision, no revelation, no DIVINE GUIDANCE, they do their own thing. MSG, “If people can't SEE WHAT GOD IS DOING, they stumble all over themselves.”
Luke 11:1-2 (NKJV) Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” So, He said to them, “when you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”
2 Corinthians 3:3 (NLT) “Clearly, YOU ARE A LETTER FROM CHRIST showing the result of our ministry among you. This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.”
What we did What we didn't do How we stewarded what He entrusted to us This should sober us, not scare us. Salvation is secure, but stewardship still matters.
Luke 11:1 (NKJV) Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “LORD TEACH US TO PRAY...”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. God knew that because of FREE WILL, humanity would have to have a POINT OF REFERENCE that truth stems from. So He put together a collection of books that we know as the Bible.
