Warning: This episode is graphic. Listener discretion is advised. It is a rite of passage for many American college students, and that is Spring Break. It's a time when students can cut loose, drink too much, and make plenty of bad decisions. Whether Palm Springs or Palm Beach, kids flock to the surf, sun, and sand to have a week full of fun. As parents, we know our children are getting older, and we would probably prefer them not to go, but we have to trust them and know they will be ok but…what if the darkness that lurks out there is more evil than we could ever comprehend and it is just waiting for the right moment to strike. On Wednesday, March 15, 1989, in Brownsville, Texas, two young men came into the station to talk to Chief Investigator George Gavito. The two men tell the investigator their good friend is missing as they explain that they are visiting South Padre Island for spring break. When investigators finally learn what happened to Mark Kilroy, it is indeed the stuff of nightmares. While we've done episodes dedicated to one cult in the past, this week we're looking at five different cults from history—the Wakemanites, Magdalena Solis, the Narcosatanists, The Movement of the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God, and Chen Tao—all of which have their own insane tales. We also look to see if you or someone you know is part of a cult. The weather is warming up, and schools are letting out. It's time once again for SPRING BREAK!!! But the fun and frivolity all too often turns deadly, and perhaps never more horrifically than in the case of Mark Kilroy, a Texas Longhorn who went to the Gulf Coast to party like it was 1989, and he never returned. The story of his demise has to be heard to be believed. BUT FIRST!!! This Week In Murder explores the death of a mentally ill murderous musician and a dentist gone bad. Then, as always, we close with a game of Who Died The Worst! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/murdermydude/support
Amongst many tangents, Mallory takes us on a journey to Matamoros, Mexico - a popular spring break spot for college students across the US. While popular, Matamoros was quickly becoming known for its increasing amount of missing person cases. For context, our story takes place in the spring of 1989 and 60 people were documented missing in the first 3 months of that year alone. An investigation was launched in March of 1989 when Mark Kilroy, an American student, goes missing. The investigation leads officers to a ranch where a group of cultists were stationed. The media gave the group the name the Narcosatanists. What was discovered on that ranch in Matamoros sets off a chain of events that leaves police horrified and many dead.
The cult-like worship of Santa Muerte by vicious drug lords and cartels alike....using the Saint of Death for various justifications in their mind... she will protect them from having a harsh death themselves though they are literally disposing of bodies in acid, she is guidance for them when they traffic millions of dollars worth of drugs, and kill their rivals, her statue often being placed at gruesome death scenes.Adolfo de Jesús Constanzo was an American serial killer, drug dealer and cult leader who led an infamous drug-trafficking and occult gang in Matamoros, Mexico that was dubbed the "Narcosatanists" by the media - his cult members knew him as "The Godfather"Mark Kilroy was a pre-med student at UT Austin and was sadly abducted off the streets of Matamoros on spring break with his childhood friends. His tragic death and investigation lead to the uncovering of 13 more bodies found at Constanzo's ranch buried in shallow graves. While Mark drew authorities attention it's important to remember the names of the others eventually named....and honor the unnamed and the never reported even missing...They deserve their stories to be told as well. Here are the names of the other identified victims buried at the ranch along with Mark Kilroy:Ernesto Rivas Diaz, 23Victor Sauceda Galvan, 22Ruben Vela Garza, 30Gilberto Garza Sosa, early 20sSpecial Thanks to:Ellen Mentor, Taurindb, Freesound.org, KRQE.com, Texas Monthly, Darkness Podcast by Haley Butler, Medium.com and The New York TimesSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This cult was led by Adolfo Constanzo and his right hand lady Sara Aldrete. His followers even nicknamed him "The Godfather". He claimed he could use his practice of Palo Mayombe and black magic to make his followers invincible. However you will see that he was not actually practicing this the right way and he was actual just becoming a serial killer. We will also talk about his last victim Mark Kilroy and how his death became the cults downfall. Please send us some of your own stories, real or fake, so we can begin to do Listeners episodes. In celebration of Halloween, this week’s episode is somewhat darker than our usual ones. Adolfo Constanzo, also known as El Padrino (or the Godfather), was the leader of a cult who believed that Black Magic would shield their drug cartel from being busted. Adolfo encouraged human sacrifice and countless people fell victim to the cult, later dubbed as Narcosatanists. When American medical student, Mark Kilroy, disappeared after a night out in Matamoros, the cult’s sadistic activities finally came to light. Adolfo de Jesus Constanzo founded the Narcosatanists in Mexico City in 1985. He was able to keep his few but loyal followers by his side as he murdered victims in the name of ancient gods. But the killing of an American college student would ultimately lead to the end of the Narcosatanists and the demise of Adolfo de Jesus Constanzo.
Adolfo de Jesús Constanzo spent his early life training in the mystical religions of Santería and Palo Mayombe. Those close to him placed no value on the lives of those who didn’t subscribe to the religions. As he got older, this philosophy would play a large part in his founding of the Narcosatanists.
Are murderous cult leaders actually motivated by contact with malicious Extra Terrestrials? Are cultists like the Circumcellions, Heaven’s Gate, the Narcosatanists, and the Thuggi mind controlled by aliens posing as gods? Is there any difference between the divine kings of the past and modern psychopaths who believe they’re special, divine, or of advanced alien origin? Steve and Joey don’t know, and neither do our plucky Ancient Astronaut Theorists, but the idea is pretty compelling, and the episode is like a cool crash course in the History of Cults - plus, pleeeeeeenty of Prolapse humor! Let’s PROOOOOOOOOOBE!
Magic spells, snake charming, and sacrifice, oh my! From Massachusetts to Mexico Satanic cults are could be lurking anywhere. This week we'll be talking about the Fall Rivers Cult and the Narcosatanists.
