Today we are joined by Dr. Angela Stanton. Angela A. Stanton, PhD, is a Southern California-based Neuroeconomist who examines behavioral changes, chronic pain, and decision-making due to brain hormonal variations. Her current work delves into the root causes and treatments of migraines without medications. As someone who experiences migraines, she identified their cause as ionic disruptions related to electrolyte balance and genetic mutations impacting insulin, glucose transporters, and voltage-gated channels. These mutations lead to significant changes distinct to a migraine-prone brain. Dr. Stanton is incredible! I was so intrigued by our conversation that it could have easily been several hours long! I know you'll love it. Topics: 1. Dr. Stanton and Migraine Research - Introduction to Dr. Stanton's journey - Focus on migraine research: Inspiration and background 2. Understanding Migraines - Differentiating migraines from regular headaches - Importance of distinguishing between migraine types 3. Ketogenic Diet and Migraines - Emergence of the ketogenic diet in migraine management - Glucose, insulin, and electrolytes: Their role in migraines - Diet's influence on neurological conditions 4. Dietary Components and Their Effects - Optimal protein intake for migraine sufferers - Brain's fuel sources and its relevance to migraines - Protein synthesis versus gluconeogenesis: Context and implications - Exploring the concept of keto flexing 5. The Stanton Migraine Protocol - Overview and unique aspects of the Stanton Migraine Protocol - Comparing the Stanton Migraine Protocol to other migraine treatments - Efficacy and success stories 6. Guidance for Chronic Migraine Sufferers - Starting points and resources for those with chronic migraines Thanks for tuning in! Get Chloe's Book Today! Dr. Paul Zak is a scientist, prolific author and public speaker. He has the very unique job title of Neuroeconomist. Dr. Zak has degrees in mathematics and economics and also has post-doctoral training in neuroimaging. In 2004, his lab discovered that the brain chemical oxytocin allows us to determine whom we can trust. Since then, he has continued to study the chemical, and his current research has shown that oxytocin is responsible for virtuous behaviors, working as the brain’s “moral molecule.” This knowledge is being used to understand the basis for civilization and modern economies, improve negotiations and treat neurologic and psychiatric disorders. The possibilities are endless. He has also written a book called The Moral Molecule: The Source of Love and Prosperity about his discoveries on oxytocin. He has a fascinating perspective on decision-making and finance.  For more information visit www.somoneypodcast.com
