Send us Fan MailChris Mearns is the founder of LIV3 Health and the creator of the Fructose Model, a systems-based approach focused on how fructose metabolism may influence cellular energetics and contribute to chronic metabolic dysfunction. He is a primary author involved in the development of scientific literature advancing a broader model of metabolic health. His work integrates findings across biochemistry, physiology, and clinical research, with particular attention to fructokinase activity, uric acid signaling, mitochondrial function, and cellular energy dynamics. This work aims to unify established concepts, such as metabolic syndrome, mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammation, and neurodegeneration, within a common energetic framework centered on cellular energy availability and recovery capacity. It also explores how this perspective may help reconcile existing models of metabolism while connecting survival pathways to the progression of chronic disease. Chris is known for bridging the gap between scientific research and real-world application.Through podcast appearances and his YouTube channel, @TheFructoseModel, he translates complex metabolic science into clear, usable insights for both general audiences and health professionals. His research, educational work, and product development are guided by a central thesis: restoring metabolic resilience requires addressing upstream energetic stress, with fructose metabolism representing a central, yet often underrecognized, influence.Find Chris at-https://liv3health.com/YT- @TheFructoseModelIG- @tryliv3Find Boundless Body at-myboundlessbody.comBook a session with us here!

Send us Fan MailKeto. Carnivore. Vegan. Mediterranean. Low-carb. Low-fat. With so many competing opinions about nutrition, eating for health and longevity has become unnecessarily complicated. In this episode of the Fit Rx Health & Wellness Podcast, Dr. Greg Dennis continues the 7 Pillars of Optimal Health series with Pillar #2: Nutrition. After years of studying nutrition, longevity, and metabolic health—and seeing what works in clinical practice—Dr. Dennis shares how his own thinking about nutrition has evolved. Rather than following a diet with a particular name, he believes the foundation of good nutrition can be surprisingly simple: prioritize protein, eat mostly real whole foods, maintain a healthy body composition, and individualize carbohydrate and fat intake based on your metabolic health, activity level, and goals. In this episode, you'll learn:Why calories still matterWhy protein becomes increasingly important as we ageThe connection between muscle, metabolic health, and longevityWhether red meat belongs in a healthy dietWhy healthy fats are beneficial—but aren't unlimitedWhy carbohydrates aren't necessarily the enemyThe difference between whole-food carbohydrates and highly processed foodsWhen low-carb and ketogenic diets may be useful therapeutic toolsThe pros and limitations of vegan, vegetarian, and carnivore dietsWhy ultra-processed foods may be a much bigger problem than any single macronutrientWhat Dr. Dennis actually eats and how his own approach to nutrition has changed over the yearsThe takeaway is simple: your diet doesn't need a name. For most people, building meals around quality protein and minimally processed whole foods—while limiting the highly processed foods that dominate the modern diet—is a sustainable foundation for metabolic health, maintaining muscle, healthy aging, and longevity. This is the second episode in the 7 Pillars of Optimal Health series. Follow the Fit Rx Health & Wellness Podcast as we explore Sleep, Nutrition, Movement & Strength, Hormonal Health, Emotional Health, Relational Health, and Spiritual Health.Support the show
In this episode, Mike Fave joins me to break down why these diets deliver such fast results early on, how the mainstreaming and commercialization of keto changed the game for the worse, and why so many people are now dealing with the fallout — microbiome disruption, hormone imbalances, metabolic dysregulation, and a much harder road back to feeling normal. We also get into why carnivore carries its own unique risks, why "keto" today isn't the same diet it was five years ago, and what it actually takes to rebuild and recover once the damage is done.If you've ever done keto, carnivore, or extended fasting — or you're doing one right now — this episode fills in what usually gets left out.In this episode:Why low-carb and carnivore diets produce such fast early resultsThe distinct microbiome risks tied to carnivore specificallyWhy extended fasting and severe restriction can backfire hormonally and metabolicallyWhat real recovery looks like after prolonged low-carb or carnivore eatingWhy personalization — not a one-size-fits-all diet — is the key to lasting resultsConnect with Mike Fave:https://mikefave.com/FREE Nutrition Cheatsheets:https://brian-getleaneatclean.beehiiv.com/subscribeClick to book a FREE 15 minute consult with Brian:https://calendly.com/bdgryn/15min-----How to Take Simple Steps to Reclaim the Body, Energy, and Strength You Had 10-15 Years Ago Using My Stepladder System:https://www.stepladdersystem.com/----B.rad Whey Protein Isolate Superfuel:The Best Protein on The Planet! Get personalized root-cause care with Empower Functional Health.Learn more at empowerfunctionalhealth.com_____Can a carnivore diet actually be healthy long term? It's one of the biggest questions around carnivore, especially when the conversation turns to nutrient deficiencies, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium, fiber, gut health, the microbiome, and whether an all-meat diet is simply too restrictive to sustain. In this 400th episode of the Nutrition with Judy podcast, I break down four of the most common concerns about eating carnivore long term and look at what deserves a closer examination. We also get into what the nutrition research can and cannot tell us about long-term dietary safety, how nutrient variety differs from nutrient sufficiency, questions around fiber and digestive health, and what actually matters when evaluating whether a diet is working for an individual. If you follow a carnivore diet, are considering one, or are questioning whether carnivore can be sustainable for years, this episode walks through the arguments that deserve more nuance.Concern 1: Is carnivore too restrictive?Concern 2: Nutrient deficiencies and food varietyConcern 3: Fiber and gut healthConcern 4: Long-term carnivore researchWhat to consider for long-term carnivore_____EPISODE REFERENCESSlides from episodeWork with us one-on-oneInflammation Fix_____WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

Craig explains why fat loss is about more than simply lowering calories, including the role of fuel partitioning, protein, dietary fat, carbohydrate intake, and the Randle cycle. They also explore why traditional high-fat keto or carnivore approaches can initially work well yet eventually lead to plateaus—or even weight gain—for some people, and why shifting toward a higher-protein, lower-energy approach may help. A major focus is protein-sparing modified fasting (PSMF): how Craig and Maria structure PSMF days, who may benefit most, how often they recommend using them, and why strategic maintenance days may help support long-term results. -
Carnivore was the eye-opener that showed me how to eliminate anything that could be bothering me, but five years later, animal-based is the framework that actually stuck. I've gone through paleo, keto, and carnivore, and none of them were failed attempts; each one raised the baseline and taught me something I still use today. In this episode, I break down the three things that actually changed (not my weight, not a number on a chart), why animal-based has outlasted every stricter diet I've tried, who should still go stricter first, and how raising our own food on the homestead reshaped the whole picture. Ashley is a 1.5 year carnivore and health and fitness enthusiast. Ashley has always taken care as to what she puts in my body and how she treated it, loved being outdoors, and thought she was doing everything right until at 32, almost overnight it seemed, she developed symptoms and had no idea what they could mean. They became more and more severe and steady and came with months of waiting for and scheduling and attending doctor appts, dermatology appts, on and off rounds of prednisone and more months of waiting while deep diving into so much research on everything she possibly could. Finally, Ashley got the referral she wanted to see an allergist, who finally, just after talking to her and listening to her symptoms, scheduled more in depth testing and found 2 autoimmune diseases. But even he suggested medication. Ashley couldn't agree to it. Five months of heavy cellular detoxing and ancestral diet variations led Ashley to carnivore and it was her only option besides thinking her problem was a serious mold issue in her apartment. Carnivore did it. It gave Ashley her life back. After just 4 days, she felt so much better mentally and emotionally. By the time she got to day 20, Ashley couldn't believe she used to think she felt good. By day 30, she couldn't imagine ever going back. Send us Fan MailDr. Jocelyn Foran is a Canadian medical doctor and Staff Anesthesiologist at Nova Scotia Health Authority, holding a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) and a Diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine.Through her private practice, Upstream Metabolic Medical, she promotes ketogenic and carnivore diets as treatments for chronic disease and metabolic conditions — dietary approaches that remain contested within mainstream nutrition science and are not endorsed by major public health bodies. While her clinical background is in anesthesiology rather than nutrition or dietetics, she has pursued additional training as a Metabolic Health Practitioner through the Nutrition Network, an organization that advocates low-carbohydrate diets.Metabolism is the process of turning food into form and function- yes, we ARE what we eat. Our metabolism is the core to our health, balancing everyday building (anabolism) with the breakdown of cells (catabolism). In our 21st-century toxic food environment, many of us are now living with metabolic dysfunction and chronic diseases that result: high blood pressure, obesity, insulin resistance, diabetes, infertility, autoimmune illnesses, mental illnesses and cancer. These chronic diseases are not cured, but rather “managed” with medications, often for the rest of our lives.Metabolic coaching focuses on root cause healing to address and reverse chronic illnesses, empowering patients to improve their health by addressing lifestyle issues.Find Dr. Jocelyn Foran at-https://www.metabolicmedical.ca/aboutIG- @MetabolicMedicalFB- @Metabolic MedicalFind Boundless Body at-myboundlessbody.comBook a session with us here!
In this CIRS Group Podcast episode, hosts Jacie and Barbara interview Brian Tinker, founder of Breathe Well Homes and a master builder with 30+ years of experience, whose work became personal after his wife's CIRS diagnosis revealed their home's role in her illness. Brian explains how moisture control is the core issue behind mold problems and why modern “tighter” energy codes can create sick homes without proper ventilation. He highlights common high-risk materials and methods (e.g., OSB, MDF, spray foam off-gassing, flex ducting, traditional grout), shares practical strategies for moisture management, wall assemblies that can dry, and using ERV/HRV systems to keep homes breathing. He discusses cost increases (about 35–45%), his course and consultations, remote build guidance, and his newer Breathe Well Vans concept, plus interest in manufactured homes for faster, lower-cost options. Barbara and Jacie are back, this time to share Jacie's personal health update while she deals with a CIRS relapse after moving into a new apartment. Jacie describes worsening histamine flares, a return of autoimmune symptoms like uveitis, and home testing that showed borderline endotoxins (100), and extremely high actinos (6 million). This prompted a small-particle cleaning and skin/environment retesting that suggested her boyfriend's microbes were contributing. While waiting to see CIRS clinician Dr. Andrea Jordheim, Jacie used an AIP diet, curcumin, astaxanthin, acupuncture, and a vibration plate to feel better. She reviews her extensive testing results (GI, infections, metabolomics, sinus, spike protein), her boyfriend's gut results (high Campylobacter, low Akkermansia), her dysbiotic gut findings and leaky-gut indicators, a very high spike protein result (23,000 vs 0.08), and next steps including fasting, nattokinase, quercetin, methylation and genetic testing. In her next update, she'll share MARCoNS and water testing (for uranium) results. Carnivore Radio takes on the political and cultural fights most shows avoid. Jeff Sherman and Eric Lopkin break down Democratic infighting, the rise and backlash of socialist candidates, Bernie Sanders' influence, New York's shifting political battle lines, and the growing pressure on establishment leaders. They also challenge Trump's handling of NATO and Iran, question whether voters are finally rejecting ideological extremes, and confront the controversy surrounding Tony Romo, alcohol, personal responsibility, and accountability.Nothing gets softened for party loyalty, media approval, or polite conversation. The hosts test competing claims, expose contradictions, and push beyond the talking points that dominate mainstream coverage. Whether you agree or argue back, this episode delivers the sharp debate, fearless opinions, and no-nonsense analysis Carnivore Radio listeners expect. Cut through the partisan spin. Listen now.

Trim Healthy Podcast w/Serene & Pearl (and some guy named Danny)
Extreme food trends can feel so convincing, especially when people see quick results. In this lively family poddy, Pearl and Serene welcome their firstborn sons, Arden and Bowen, to talk honestly about the carnivore trend, diet “honeymoon periods,” balanced eating, and why simple, sustainable health habits still matter. The four of them dig into why restrictive plans can be appealing, what can happen when we start fearing whole food groups, and how to think through viral health claims with a little more wisdom and a little less panic. Arden shares parts of his own health journey, Bowen brings his usual healthy resistance (and fact-checking), and Pearl and Serene come back again to the food freedom they've taught for years. This is not about shaming anyone for trying a new approach. It is about remembering that health is not usually found in an extreme. It is built, meal by meal, through real food, enough protein, healthy movement, rest, and a way of eating we can actually live with. In this episode, we talk about: Why carnivore and other restrictive plans can feel helpful at first The difference between quick scale changes and long-term health Why protein, carbs, vegetables, fruits, and healthy fats all have a place Building strength and supporting a healthy metabolism over time How Arden found more freedom by moving away from overthinking food Why a balanced approach may not be flashy...but it sure is livable A little family banter, because apparently having your sons on the poddy means they get to correct your numbers in real time Come listen, laugh with us, and be reminded that you do not have to chase every new food rule to care well for your body. We can choose wisdom, balance, and real food...and still enjoy our lives. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Veronique Klemow is a certified health coach and hormone health advocate specializing in women's hormonal wellness, postpartum recovery, and fertility support. Her path into this work was deeply personal. After struggling through her own postpartum journey with hormonal chaos, fatigue, and few answers from conventional medicine, she found her turning point in an unexpected place: a low-carb lifestyle that transformed her energy, her cycles, and her entire approach to health. That experience, combined with her certifications from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, shaped the whole-person framework she now brings to her clients. Through her practice Cycle Serenity, she helps women understand their bodies and feel at peace in every phase. Send us Fan MailNicolas Hunter is an experienced extended faster who has transformed his health through a combination of fasting, carnivore-based nutrition, and nutrient-dense ancestral foods. After reaching more than 345 pounds, Nicolas lost over 185 pounds and gradually moved away from calorie counting, constant restriction, and the idea that eating less every day was the answer. Today, he uses carnivore not as a rigid ideology, but as a practical metabolic tool that makes extended fasting feel natural and sustainable. His current rhythm often consists of a 72-hour fast, followed by two generous one-meal-a-day refeed days, and then another 72-hour fast. When he eats, he prioritizes meat, fish, eggs, traditional dairy, and other simple, nourishing foods, eating until genuinely satisfied rather than counting calories. Nicolas believes fasting should not feel like punishment, starvation, or a daily battle against hunger. For him, the real breakthrough came when food stopped controlling his attention and the constant “food noise” disappeared.Nicolas no longer sees fasting as endlessly deciding not to eat. He sees it as regaining the freedom to decide when to eat. His philosophy is simple: fasting is not something you force through suffering—it is a natural state the body can return to when it is properly nourished. Carnivore is the tool, extended fasting is the practice, and freedom from constant hunger is the result.Nick's motto is- "Fasting is not when you spend your life deciding not to eat. Fasting begins when you regain the freedom to decide when to eat."Find Nicolas at-Email- nickhuntersf@me.comFind Boundless Body at-myboundlessbody.comBook a session with us here!
Barbara and Jacie continue their CIRSx 2026 recap with the medical talks, emphasizing that the episode should not be considered medical advice and encouraging listeners to consult their own CIRS practitioners. They summarize Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker's talk on “triple positives” on GENIE (AKT, RELA, tubulin) as an early risk pattern for neurodegeneration including Parkinson's, highlighting the promise of early intervention. Dr. Lacey Venanzi focused on gut-driven inflammation in CIRS via LPS, dysbiosis, permeability tied to low MSH, and discussed preferred microbiome testing. Dr. Kellen Milani shared a stalking experience and the need for practitioner boundaries. Louise Carter reviewed GENIE/HLA patterns, suggesting CIRS subtypes and vascular dysregulation. Dr. Eric Dorninger covered step five of the Shoemaker Protocol: androgen correction, especially DHEA, plus additional testing options like DUTCH. Dr. Scott McMahon critiqued overly broad test interpretation. Dr. Oseni discussed pulmonary manifestations of CIRS and spirometry, noting TGF-beta1 and fibrosis. Dr. Peg DiTulio reviews MARCoNS treatment data, maintenance strategies to prevent recolonization, and when to consider ENT/dental issues. One of the questions I get asked more than almost anything else is..."Coach...what's the best diet?"Keto?Mediterranean?Carnivore?Vegan?Intermittent fasting?Low carb?High carb?Every expert seems to have a different answer. And every expert can usually point to studies that support their position.So... who's right?Honestly...probably all of them. For somebody.Because my very first Life Rule—the first rule I've had written in my phone for over ten years—is this:Life Rule #1: Do what works for you.Resources:Brain.fm App(First month Free, then 20% off subscription)Discount Code: coachdamiensdCaldera Lab Skin Carewww.calderalab.comDiscount Code: CoachDLinks:IG:@coachdamien_sd@damienrayevans@livinthedream_podcast YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS6VuPgtVsdBpDj5oN3YQTgFB:https://www.facebook.com/coachdamienSD/
Carnivore Diet, Cholesterol, Gut Bacteria, Microbiome, and Fasting Insulin Results from a 90-Day Self-Experiment What if cutting out fiber entirely actually improved your gut bacteria? This episode breaks down a real 90-day carnivore self-experiment, complete with before and after blood work, stool testing, and continuous glucose data, that challenges everything you think you know about fiber, cholesterol, and metabolic health. Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Ben Azadi, founder of Keto Kamp and bestselling author of Metabolic Freedom. After overcoming obesity and severe health challenges, Ben has spent years educating millions of people on metabolic health, fasting, ketosis, and biohacking strategies through his podcast, books, and YouTube channel with over a million subscribers. He is known for turning complex science into practical tools anyone can use to burn fat, boost human performance, and support long-term longevity. Ben walks through what happened when he ate nothing but meat, eggs, and dairy for 90 straight days, tracking everything from his microbiome diversity to his LDL particle size. His cholesterol numbers spiked, but the full lipid panel tells a very different story than most doctors would assume. They get into why ketosis works better when you cycle in and out of it, how sodium and electrolytes play a bigger role in insulin resistance than most people realize, and why eating 17 to 23 times a day might be quietly wrecking your metabolism. The conversation also covers the real science behind creatine absorption, why Dave adds his to hot coffee for better brain uptake, the truth about cooking oils and smoke points, and why cold plunging is one of the most misunderstood biohacks in the wellness space. Dave and Ben dig into mitochondria, fasting protocols, sleep optimization, and the supplements that actually move the needle for energy, fat loss, and anti-aging. This is essential listening for anyone serious about biohacking, functional medicine, brain optimization, and building a body that performs at a higher level for longer. You'll Learn: What 90 days of zero fiber actually did to his gut bacteria and microbiome diversity Why his cholesterol went up but his cardiovascular risk markers stayed low The real reason cyclical ketosis works better than staying in ketosis full time How sodium and electrolyte intake affects insulin resistance and metabolism Why eating too frequently keeps your body stuck in glucose and insulin spikes The creatine hack that increases brain absorption using hot coffee Why cold plunging is overrated for most people who skip the hormesis basics Thank you to our sponsors! - PredictiveMind™ | Get your Brain Pattern Mapping report at predictivemind.io/dave and use code DAVE for 10% off. - ZenBud | Dave's Nervous System Biohack.
