(Lander, WY) – KOVE 1330 AM / 107.7 FM's Coffee Time host Vince Tropea had a surprise guest on Wednesday's show in the form of Brian DeBolt, the Large Carnivore Conflict Coordinator for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. DeBolt stopped by to let folks know that a black bear was sighted in Lander Saturday night, near Smith and McDougall. An LPD officer was the one who spotted the bear, and captured the following footage on their dashcam. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjSoGvs9bmU While the bear posed no immediate threat at the time and hasn't been sighted since, DeBolt stated that one of the main reasons bears come into town is because deer have become more commonplace in city limits from folks regularly feeding them, which he also advised against doing. Dr Aseem Malhotra  Dr Aseem Malhotra is an NHS trained Consultant Cardiologist, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, and President of The Public Health Collaboration. He is a world renowned expert in the prevention, diagnosis and management of heart disease. He is honorary council member to the Metabolic Psychiatry Clinic at Stanford University school of medicine California. He is a founding member of Action on Sugar and was the lead campaigner highlighting the harm caused by excess sugar consumption in the United Kingdom, particularly its role in type 2 diabetes and obesity.  In 2015 he helped coordinate the Choosing Wisely campaign by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges as lead author in a BMJ paper to highlight the risks of overuse of medical treatments. James has been suffering from mental health issues most of his life. It all started with a diagnosis of ADHD at the age of 6 years old. He was put on amphetamines for ADHD. He also had depression and anxiety starting around that age when put on the ADHD meds. At around 16 years old he started self medicating with pharmaceutical and street drugs and by 17 years old he was diagnosed with Schizoaffective and rapid cycling Bi Polar disorder. 10 years later, at the age of 27, he had been hospitalized at least 200 times in the psych hospital and emergency department. He developed obesity, pre-diabetes, psoriasis, Irritable bowel syndrome, and chronic fatigue, along with those severe mental health issues. After 6 weeks doing the Carnivore lifestyle he got my life back. All of my health issues, including the severe mental health issues, went into clinical remission and he is on no pharmaceutical medications whatsoever. He hopes to help others who have similar issues recover now. What a crazy honor to host these two warriors in the low-carbohydrate space! Dr. Gary Fettke is a retired Orthopedic Surgeon practicing in Tasmania. Although he has retired from his Orthopedic practice, he remains very vocal in public health advocacy and is currently working with a group to have therapeutic carbohydrate restriction included as a safe option in the management (and prevention) of Type 2 diabetes in Australia.  He has a major interest in the preventative medicine and encourages his patients to lose weight before undergoing surgery. He is an advocate of a low carbohydrate, healthy fat (LCHF) lifestyle for the various health benefits, including the reversal of type 2 diabetes. Along with his wife Belinda, Gary has opened and ended up selling the Nutrition for Life – Diabetes and Health Research Centre, which provides nutritional care around Tasmania and Australia. His wife Belinda took the initiative researching the bio-history of religion and influences of nutrition and dietary guidelines in order to better understand why her husband was targeted for using a high fat low carbohydrate diet by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Tasmanian Health Service. She had previously completed her Bachelors's and Masters's degrees in Nutrition and Dietitics in addition to a hospital internship before passing the board examination to become a licensed dietitian. After 9 years in Miami, she recently relocated to Ocala, Florida where she continues to teach nutrition courses online at Miami Dade College. She previously also taught nutrition courses for 8 years at the University of Miami and DeVry University.
