To promote their new film Double Blind, Thomas D. Moser and Christopher Showerman honored me by stopping by to chat about the black and white conspiracy spy thriller flick. While Tom directed this film, he has a long history with animation, particularly Marvel-related. We chatted about his work on Planet Hulk, Hulk Vs., Wolverine and the X-Men, Avengers: Assemble, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, The Superhero Squad Show, Thor: Tales of Asgard, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., and Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow. Discussing the many Marvel animations he worked on, we also talked about the cues the live-action MCU has taken from the shows and films like Planet Hulk and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Telling us about building the arena for the animated Planet Hulk Film, he also talked about his experience seeing that come to life in Thor: Ragnarok. Tom also speaks about his more recent animation work on Duncanville and Big mouth. When we finally let Chris talk, we speak on his work in Supergirl and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., George of the Jungle 2, and all the stuntwork he had to do alongside his acting role in Double Blind. Christopher Yost has been working on animated TV series, comics, and features for almost 10 years, for well-known Marvel and D.C. franchises.After a number of years as an advertising producer in Detroit, Michigan, Christopher Yost decided he needed to make the jump to Hollywood. He attended the Peter Stark Producing program at USC, but realized while there that writing was really his passion.An internship at Marvel Studios led to his first break, writing a script for Marvel’s animated property X-Men: Evolution. Soon he was writing such well-known titles as D.C.’s The Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and eventually became head writer and story editor on Fantastic Four, Iron Man: Armored Adventures, and The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.During this time he also wrote two animated DVD features, Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow, and Hulk vs. Wolverine.Yost also works in comic books, writing for Marvel’s X-Men and Spider-Man franchises, DC’s Batman franchise, and the adaptation of the sci-fi classic Ender’s Game. Yularen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the chancellor in Tim Burton’s 9, Magneto in Wolverine and the X-Men, and Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Some of his other credits include Ultron in Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow and The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, as well as Mr. Herriman in Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Lord Monkey Fist on Kim Possible, and even Professor Utonium and Him in The Powerpuff Girls. Kane also is a prominent videogame voice actor, appearing in numerous titles from bits parts to major roles like Gandalf, Professor X, and the lead characters in many Star Wars games. He also is the voice of Takeo Masaki, a Japanese World War II soldier in the Zombies game mode of the Call of Duty game franchise. Outside of animation, he records movie trailers, television promos and commercials, as well as various awards programs, including the Oscars. And in 2012, he took over for Joe Hursh as the voice of the Walt Disney World Monorail System in Florida. In the news we talk about some of the claims being made about Transformers 2 and Star trek. Dave reveals his lack of excitement for season 3 of Heroes. In this week's week that was we chat about Spooks code 9, Buffy, Infinite crisis and Secret invasion what we think so far, Samurai Girl and Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow. Week that was kind of became our main feature as we went into a discussion/ rant about well Geek Marketing I guess and how Comic/tv companies could better use of the tools around them. Enjoy!
