Headlines Le'Veon's Contract Greatest Steelers Wide Receivers   Le'veon's Contract Le’Veon seems more upbeat about the possibility of getting a contract done for this season.  He appearEd on the NFL Network's Top 100 and said that he's closer to an extension than last offseason. "Obviously, the people in the organization try to do what's best for them, and I'm trying to do what's best for me," Bell said. "We're working on it. We're a lot closer than we were last year at this time. That's what I'm happy about. None of that matters if we don't get it done. Hopefully we'll try to get something done. That's what I'm looking forward to. I got confidence we'll get it done. I want to do it." However, in a Tweet he said “i got to get to the money I ain’t got time to be wasting”. Keep holding your breath on this one. Greatest Steelers Wide Receivers How do you rate a wide receiver when so many variables are outside their control?  Even with speed, hands and great route-running, they need to ball thrown to the, and hopefully in their general vicinity. A recovering JP Finlay, Rich Tandler and Mitch Tischler joined up for this mid-week, football heavy edition of Redskins Talk. The beginning of the podcast includes two different discussions centered on Alex Smith, with the first regarding how he seems well aware of how he needs to start the year fast and the second spent wondering if he's a top-100 player in football, since he hasn't shown up on the NFL Network's Top 100 list yet. Then, the guys look back on a debate they held on Brandon Scherff and wonder whether they need to adjust their take that he wasn't worth such a high draft selection considering how guards are getting paid more and more these days. And finally, JP enlists the help of Rich and Mitch in an early look at the next Podcast Party. If you like podcasts where JP puts up a solid effort in his Flu Game and all three hosts turn in decent Jay Gruden impressions, then this is the episode for you.

OTAs have wrapped up, the Seahawks mandatory minicamp is over, and now we get into a dark period of a couple weeks before training camp starts. The good news is the season is just around the corner! So far news about the heath of players has been positive as well and nobody sounds more excited than Thomas Rawls. Rawls is so excited, he feels like he needs to take up more than one spot on the depth chart. Adam and Brandan discuss why we fans should remember what had us so excited about Thomas Rawls as the team's #1 running back. The guys take a look at what has Coach Carroll fired up coming out of minicamp and his thoughts on the offensive line, Jimmy Graham and the guy who sounds like has the edge coming into training camp to take over the cornerback spot opposite Richard Sherman. Pete isn't the only coach fired up, in fact, Tom Cable says he's the most excited coach on the team. The NFL Network's Top 100 is nearing a conclusion. All the Seahawks on the list have been named, and there are a couple players who finished ahead of Seattle's top players that are really bothering Adam and Brandan. The Top 100 talk doesn't stop with NFL Network, because a trip to Prisco's World shows us that Pete can make mistakes with his player rankings as well. In the second half of the show, we check in on Marshawn Lynch and our current feeling on his situation. In the email segment we talk about a couple players going into their second year who haven't seen a lot of action and revisit a topic and potential conspiracy theory that can be put to rest. Pro Football Focus and the hoverboard marketing team get taking to task in the do better segment, while a couple of defensive lineman (one current and one former) earn Better At Life honors. The Standard is the Standard returns tonight with Jeff Hartman and Christopher Carter ready to talk Steelers football tonight at 9:30PM ET. You can listen to the show here or can join the show by calling 347-850-8581. Tonight the guys are ready to talk about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his recent ranking as the 21st best player in the NFL by the NFL Network's Top 100 show. It's the highest that Roethlisberger has ever been ranked on the show, but is it the ranking he deserves? We discuss the ranking list and more. Roethlisberger recently talked about how he wants the offense to run with taking more two point conversions throughout the season. The Steelers were the best in the NFL last season but look to be even better. We talk just how they can do that moving forward. With the offense still looking to average 30 points a game, we talk about what's a good measuring point and a realistic goal for an explosive offense to set for itself in 2016. Behindthesteelcurtain.com brings you the Black and Gold tonight at 9:00PM with Christopher Carter and Jeff Hartman as your hosts. Tonight's show reviews an amazing turnaround of a season for the Pittsburgh Penguins as they looked like they would miss the playoffs at the halfway point, but turned it around and became the best team in hockey to win their  fourth Stanley Cup. You can call in to listen to the show or join us to celebrate by dialing 347-850-8581. The Pittsburgh Steelers inch closer to training camp and the team is pitting their new recruits at defensive backs up against their outstanding wide receiver group to test their abilities early. Meanwhile offensive coordinator Todd Haley says reiterates the 30 points per game goal for the Steelers' offense and we talk why or why not that's realistic.  The Steelers also saw their second player mentioned on the NFL Network's Top 100 list in Le'Veon Bell at 41. We talk about his ranking and where we expect others to fall. While the City of Champions celebrates the Penguins, the Pittsburgh Pirates' struggles continue as they have now lost five in a row and dropped to third place in the NL Central with a 32-31 record, all while losing catcher Francisco Cervelli until the all-star break due to injury. Jeff goes off on the Pirates over their woes.
