Spinning Out (another music podcast) We talk to artists about their favorite albums and go on wild tangents. This week on the pod we talked with Hannah Rainey of Shady Bug. We talked about Deerhunter's 2008 album "Microcastle." We also talk a lot about St. Louis geography, the death of alt-weeklies, early 00's edginess/cringe and a whole host of other topics that I ranted about during our chat. Hannah's band Shady Bug just released their new EP, "What's the Use?" on Exploding in Sound Records. It's really good and check it out on bandcamp, right now. https://explodinginsoundrecords.bandcamp.com/album/whats-the-use Follow us on social media -- twitter and instagram (@Spinningoutpod) Subscribe to our Patreon here: www.patreon.com/spinningoutpod Follow us on social media -- twitter and instagram (@Spinningoutpod)

dear livejournal, do you know about your sitz bone? it’s the butt bone that you sit on. when you sit on a chair, your squishy butt fat disperses your weight across a larger surface and you don’t feel that much pressure directly on your sitz bone. but i got a new bicycle seat recently. it’s nose-less and designed to remove pressure from soft tissue, and instead puts all the pressure on your sitz bone. i’ve only spent two days on the seat and i’m already feeling it in my sitz. but it’s a good thing. i’ve spent the last fifteen years not riding a bicycle because of painful hemorrhoids. is this t.m.i.? naw. hemorrhoids have been a pain in my butt long enough. it’s time to take my life back. and my butt back lolol.DOWNLOAD RECORDINGsubscribe to the podcast here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/5432fun00:00 (intro by omar)00:20 Bedwetters Anonymous “Poverty Porn” R.U. Episode 131 features an interview with Jake Brooks and Ali Genevich of the super talented shoegaze duo, Laveda. Their incredible new record, What Happens After, dropped in late May and it’s a sonic rollercoaster of swirling guitar fuzz, serene melodies, and lyrics that confront our uncertain future. Tune in to hear all about the duo’s origins in their hometown of Saratoga Springs, the inspiration behind the album’s apocalyptic themes, and how they developed their signature sprawling sound. You’ll also hear about their backgrounds as classical musicians and how that has influenced their approach to songwriting. This episode features records from Beach House, Shady Bug, King Krule, Thee Oh Sees, Alex G, and Sonic Youth! Zach Romano, who wrote a great in-depth review of What Happens After, also joined in with some questions for the band in this episode! You can purchase What Happens After on limited edition vinyl on Bandcamp via Color Station. You can also listen to the album on your streaming platform of choice. Keep up with the band by liking them on Facebook and following them on Instagram. They’ll be releasing a music video for their song “Better Now” in the near future.
