From guitar virtuosos to vocal powerhouses, Matt and Sam's "Women Who Rock: Volume 2" showcases twelve artists who represent the extraordinary breadth and depth of women's contributions to rock music.St. Vincent (Annie Clark) kicks things off with "Los Ageless," her scathing take on Los Angeles culture wrapped in irresistible guitar work. Meanwhile, Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" demonstrates how great music transcends time, finding a whole new generation of listeners through Stranger Things – likely causing Bush herself to wake up one morning wondering why her 37-year-old song was suddenly topping global charts. The mix features several guitar virtuosos deserving wider recognition. Orianthi, who's performed alongside Michael Jackson and Alice Cooper, delivers both technical brilliance and emotional resonance on "According to You." Even more surprising is Kaki King's instrumental "Default Shell," showcasing finger techniques so complex they seem impossible to be produced by human hands – explaining why she's collaborated with Eddie Vedder and toured with Foo Fighters.Modern innovators get their due through Maggie Rogers' "Anywhere With You" , CHVRCHES' build-up masterpiece "Clearest Blue," and The Joy Formidable's "Worrying," which culminates in an extended instrumental finale that serves as perfect running music for those final miles. We close with HAIM's Eagles-influenced harmonies on "The Wire" and Bully's raw punk energy on "Either Way" – proving that women aren't just participating in rock's evolution, they're driving it forward in exciting new directions. This isn't just a collection of women who play rock music – it's a celebration of essential artists whose technical skill, songwriting prowess, and unique perspectives continue to reshape what rock can be.Follow us on Instagram @superawesomemix and join our growing community of music lovers who understand that great music transcends all boundaries.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7cMQ2xZQcDAoG6yx4KLDzF?si=ec5e4f18da1e419c Los Ageless by St. VincentRunning Up That Hill by Kate BushC'mon C'mon by Sheryl CrowBurning by Yeah Yeah YeahsAccording To You by OrianthiAnywhere With You by Maggie RogersAll American Girl by Melissa EtheridgeClearest Blue by CHVRCHESDefault Shell by Kaki KingWhirring by The Joy FormidableThe Wire by HAIMEither Way by Bully Support the showVisit us at https://www.superawesomemix.com to learn more about our app, our merchandise, our cards, and more!

On this Healthy Mind, Healthy Life episode, high-performance coach and speaker Brett Eaton unpacks the core idea from his upcoming book, Uncomfortable Either Way: you can choose short-term comfort and live with long-term regret—or choose productive discomfort and earn growth, confidence, and momentum. We dig into comfort traps (like all-or-nothing thinking), fitness-to-life parallels (discipline, consistency, standards), and Brett's mountain challenges—from Mount Washington to the 29029 Everest event—to show how focusing on “the next few steps” beats obsessing over the summit. Direct, practical, and built for action, this conversation gives you a framework to pick the discomfort that moves you forward. About the guest Brett Eaton is a high-performance coach, motivational speaker, and author of Uncomfortable Either Way (releasing September 9). He helps ambitious people replace comfort-driven routines with growth-driven choices through simple, repeatable habits and honest self-assessment. Key takeaways : Discomfort is unavoidable; your power lies in choosing the version that creates growth rather than regret. Comfort often returns as stagnation, “I wish I would have,” and lost time—avoidance doesn't remove discomfort, it only delays it. Fitness is a fair mirror: you get out what you put in. Discipline, reps, and recovery translate directly to career and relationships. Beware the all-or-nothing trap. Early motivation fades; systems, routines, and accountability keep you going when it's not exciting. Productive discomfort isn't 24/7 grind. Pick intentional challenges, recover well, and keep standards high over time. Climb thinking beats summit obsession: control the next steps in front of you and let compounding effort create outcomes. Brutal honesty accelerates change—name where you're letting things slide and close those gaps with specific actions. Identity follows behavior: small daily choices (mornings, inputs, peers) shape who you become. Failure is information. Missed edits, blown deadlines, or tough workouts are feedback loops, not verdicts. Enjoy the climb. The summit is brief; pride comes from the two years of consistent work no one sees. In this episode of Lose Your Cravings, Keysa dives into the powerful truth that life will bring hard moments — but you get to choose which “hard” you face. She explores the two common paths for women struggling with emotional eating and cravings: staying in the cycle of guilt, shame, and feeling out of control around food, or leaning into the discomfort of feeling emotions without numbing them with food. Through a compassionate, non-diet lens, Keysa explains why facing your emotions may feel hard now, but leads to lasting freedom, peace, and self-trust, while staying in the old pattern keeps you stuck. If you've ever wondered how to break free from emotional eating without another diet, this episode will give you the clarity and encouragement you need to choose the hard that changes everything.Become a sponsor of the Lose Your Cravings Podcast here!patreon.com/loseyourcravingsGet my FREE Guide: Break Free From Nighttime EatingWant to dive deeper into ending your cravings and overeating once and for all? → Book a call with me! Launch Your Box Podcast with Sarah Williams | Start, Launch, and Grow Your Subscription Box
Should your subscription box be available all the time or only during specific launch windows? It's one of the most common questions I get inside Launch Your Box. But here's the truth… It's not about whether your cart is open or closed. It's about whether you're giving people a reason to subscribe right now. In this week's Friday Fuel episode of The Launch Your Box Podcast, I'm breaking down the difference between open cart and closed cart subscription models, the pros and cons of each, and what really moves the needle when it's time to grow your subscriber count. I also share a simple strategy that works with either model to create urgency and excitement: the launch bonus with examples you can use without spending a fortune. Open Cart Subscription Model Your subscription box is always live, and subscribers can join at any time. It's simple and steady, but it lacks urgency. You have to create your own momentum. Closed Cart Subscription Model You open the cart for a limited window a few times a year. It builds buzz and urgency, but only if you show up and promote it well. Both work. I've used both. But the most important thing? YOU are the one who creates urgency. It's about how you talk about your box, how you show up, and whether or not you give people a reason to say yes this week. When I launched my Monogram Box™ in April, I offered a free monogram tee to anyone who subscribed that week. That bonus helped me sell out 432 spots. The bonus worked again during my July teacher launch, when I offered a personalized “Teacher” tee to new subscribers. That simple extra created urgency and excitement. And brought in results. Whether your cart is open or closed, a bonus can help you say, “This week matters. Here's why.” Try one of these subscriber-worthy extras: An exclusive item they can't get anywhere else A personalized detail like a name or monogram A small gift that matches your box's theme A digital download or printable Leftover inventory from a previous month Your bonus doesn't have to be expensive—it just has to be timely and thoughtful. Your Friday Fuel Action Step Map out your next launch bonus. Ask yourself: What could I offer that feels special and simple? When will I offer it and when will it end? How will I promote it through email, social, and your website? Write it down. Plug it into your calendar. And remember: when you're excited, your audience will be, too. Join me for this episode and find out why it's not about whether your subscription box is open or closed – it's about getting people to say yes. Happy Spooky Wednesday, friends! We're covering one of Kala's favorite subjects this week: a spooky road! Kala is talking all about Zombie Road. This path in Wildwood, Missouri is renowned for its alleged paranormal activity and associated ghost stories. The trail, which was originally a road named Lawler Ford Road, is said to be haunted by various spectral figures, including Confederate soldiers, children, cranky old women, and industrial workers. Visitors have reported seeing ghostly apparitions, shadow figures, and hearing unexplained cries. If you visit it at night you're sure to be in for a spooky experience, and also possibly a trespassing ticket. Good luck!

Thousand of Children are about to starve and when we say that Fascism is Imperialism turned inwards, this is what we mean. The CIA's twitter account just posted “The front gate at Headquarters is closed until further notice. Please use alternate routes for Thursday, May 22nd.” We are seeing the coordinated focus on the protest slogan “globalize the Intifada” from right-wing politicians and Israeli propagandists. This is just another evolution of the ill-fated Global War on Terror, which has never ended, and will now turn inward on not only muslims but anyone who opposes the War-State.

On their weekly Thursday podcast, host Adam Bittner and Post-Gazette sports columnist Jason Mackey react to a busy week in Pittsburgh sports news. Are the Steelers rebuilding, as PG colleague Ray Fittipaldo has argued? Are Mike Tomlin and his coaching staff simply failing with a roster that's built to win? How should the answer to the rebuilding question inform their decision at QB between options including Justin Fields, Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers? Should stars like T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward or Minkah Fitzpatrick be traded if this team does not have serious hopes of Super Bowl contention? And where does the young offensive line, including names like Broderick Jones, Mason McCormick, Troy Fautanu and Zach Frazier fit into this conversation? Our duo tackles those questions and also weighs in on some negative reaction to the announcement of next seasons Ireland game at Croke Park in Dublin. Then they tackles some 4 Nations Faceoff questions. Is this tournament involving Penguins standouts including Sidney Crosby, Mike Sullivan and Rickard Rakell compelling and worth watching? And is the event's marketing -- and the NHL's marketing at large -- too focused on Connor McDavid and the league's young stars? At the expense of Crosby and Washington Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin? Then in the third segment, airing on the Post-Gazette's new Pirates channel, Adam and Jason ponder headlines from the first week of spring training in Bradenton. Who is more responsible for the team's disastrous MLB offseason: GM Ben Cherington or owner Bob Nutting? How much scorn do they deserve for the Spencer Horwitz injury situation, which has sidetracked one of the few key moves they did make? What should we make out Bryan Reynolds moving to right field, free agent Tommy Pham playing in left and Oneil Cruz continuing his transition from shortstop in center? Will this be a bad defensive group in totality? And is there reason for optimism about Ke'Bryan Hayes, as team and player express hope that they're better able to manage his chronic back issues?
Is AI the superglue that can repair our fractured media universe? Or is it just another tool that could further splinter our audiences? In this episode of The Trending Communicator, host Dan Nestle sits down with digital marketing expert, leading AI researcher, and prolific LinkedIn Learning course creator Martin Waxman. A professor at McMaster University, associate director of the Future of Marketing Institute, and member of the Institute for Public Relations Digital Media Center, Martin has been leading the AI charge for the Communications profession through his Digital Marketing Trends newsletter and the LinkedIn Live DM Show (with recent TTC guest, Deirdre Breakenridge). In other words, he's just the guy Dan needs to speak with to unpack the complexities of generative AI in the world of marketing and PR. Happy Thanksgiving! This episode was originally published in November 2023. Ocean Spray's farmers are responsible for 65% of the world's cranberries. It's not a publicly traded company. It's not a traditional private company, either. It's a cooperative founded nearly a century ago and owned by roughly 700 families. WSJ's Ben Cohen tells the story of how the cranberry got into the can and how the company is planning for a future beyond your Thanksgiving table.
