Pour mon 6e accouchement, j'ai choisi un AAD, accouchement assisté (ou accompagné) à domicile, c'est-à-dire que j'ai souhaité accoucher à la maison avec l'aide dune sage-femme.C'est un sujet hautement controversé, et j'entends déjà certains d'entre vous s'affoler au sujet de ma sécurité et de celle de mon bébé (ce ne sera donc pas une surprise que je n'aie pas évoqué ce sujet avant que la naissance ne soit passée…).Mais moi-même il y a 16 ans, je n'aurais jamais imaginé accoucher chez moi, ce n'était même pas un sujet dont on parlait vraiment… et si j'avais croisé une de ces mamans qui accouchaient à domicile, je l'aurais prise pour une irresponsable.Qu'est-ce qui m'a fait changer d'avis, alors que je suis quelqu'un de plutôt rationnel, de formation scientifique et que je ne souhaitais pas prendre de risque, ni pour moi, ni pour mon bébé ?Abordons donc aujourd'hui les raisons pour lesquelles on peut choisir un accouchement à domicile, la grande question de la sécurité de ces accouchements et enfin les démarches à faire lorsqu'on prépare un tel accouchement. Mais peu de femmes accouchent 6 fois ! C'est pourquoi je me suis dit qu'il serait intéressant que je vous raconte comment se sont passées mes expériences d'accouchements, qui ont tous été différentes, malgré parfois des similarités. In episode two of this two-part conversation, Diedra Harris-Kelly, Camara Holloway, and Samantha Rowe continue their discussion of the The Romare Bearden Catalogue Raisonné Project. Catalogue raisonné research constitutes relatively new ground for the study of African American art. They address the unique challenges they faced bringing this project to fruition and reflect on the insights gained. This conversation sheds light on how digital catalogues raisonné can contribute to legacy-building for African American artists like Romare Bearden.

In the first episode of this two-part conversation, Camara Holloway and Samantha Rowe discuss the development of The Romare Bearden Catalogue Raisonné Project which was launched online in June 2025. The conversation is moderated by Diedra Harris-Kelley, co-director of the Romare Bearden Foundation. In 2020, the artist-endowed foundation formed a partnership the Wildenstein Plattner Institute, which is devoted to facilitating access to archival materials and publishing digital catalogues raisonnés. The project leveraged art historical, technological, and archival resources, including the Romare Bearden Papers. Working without the benefit of an artist inventory, Harris-Kelley, Holloway, and Rowe pooled their diverse backgrounds and expertise to recover vital information about the artist.

BUFFALO, NY — April 15, 2026 — A new #research paper was #published in Volume 18 of Aging-US on March 30, 2026, titled “A manually curated gene–phenotype catalogue for progeroid syndromes and premature aging.” The study was led by Nuša Likar and Tanja Kunej from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The researchers developed a comprehensive, manually curated catalogue integrating data from 84 scientific publications and the OMIM database. The resulting resource systematically organizes genetic and clinical information on progeroid syndromes, linking 144 genes to 56 syndromes and 160 distinct clinical entities, making it one of the most extensive datasets in this field to date. Using genome–phenome association analysis and protein–protein interaction networks, the study reveals the complex genetic and phenotypic heterogeneity underlying premature aging disorders. The findings highlight strong enrichment in genome maintenance and DNA repair pathways, reinforcing their central role in aging biology. The catalogue also demonstrates how single genes, such as LMNA, can be associated with multiple syndromes, illustrating the pleiotropic nature of genetic variants in progeroid conditions and their broader relevance to human aging mechanisms. “Overall, this study provides a reference resource and framework to support future research into premature aging syndromes and their broader implications for understanding physiological aging.” Overall, the authors present a valuable framework for improving the classification, diagnosis, and study of rare premature aging disorders. Their work not only advances understanding of progeroid syndromes but also offers important insights into the biological processes that drive normal human aging.
