In this episode, we continue our conversation with Sean McCabe and Jinhee Kim about their new musical: Saint Sebastian. Saint Sebastian is a queer coming-of-age musical comedy, set on a Christian retreat farm over one Easter weekend. At the heart of the story is the relationship of Sebastian, a sheltered, naïve kid whose parents own the farm, and Jamie, a housing-insecure kid staying at the farm with his single mother. It's a story about socioeconomic privilege, the awkwardness of adolescence, and queerness in conflict with religious tradition. This episode features the songs “Hallelujah High” performed by Tori Lynn, Naima Alakham, Nicole Tsarouhas, Maya Thomas, Stephen Mellen and many other talented performers, as well as “Only Trees” performed by Mike Cefalo. I first met Tori Lynn backstage at WRMF’s No Snow Ball, where she and I geeked out together over seeing Adam Lambert walk down the hall toward us, and the rest was history! So, when I asked her to be on my podcast, I could think of no better place to record than in the shadows of where we met: outside of the Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca. A naturally-gifted singer and performance artist, Tori Lynn won her shot at opening for Adam Lambert and Third Eye Blind at No Snow Ball by winning WRMF’s Dirty Voice Contest. From early releases like "Labyrinth of Love" and "Nobody but Me" to her latest tracks, including “Mama Said,” “Young and Free,” and “Fading Lightz,” Tori Lynn has garnered an incredible following. And, she has great affection for her fans! Her motivation is spreading positivity and inspiration, along with raising awareness for an incurable disease that has affected her family: Cystinosis. Please visit Cystinosis.org to help support her cause! A triple threat of singing, dancing, and acting, Tori Lynn is an absolute show-stopper! Tune in for a special edition of That's Entertainment as I talk with author Tori Lynn about her new book, "The Divorce." Tori's book is an autobiography about the spiritual and emotional journey she encountered while going through her marriage and subsequent divorce. Through all the pain and suffering, she appeared tough on the outside, but behind closed doors, she secretly cried out for God to save her marriage. A marriage that she later realized was doomed from the beginning because he wasn’t “The One.” From the joyous and exciting way they met in church to two children and court battles later, Tori lost everything; her homes, her business, her faith and her self-esteem. She lost trust with those she loved from family, church and even God. Tori literally walked through the valley of the shadow of death as the enemy told her that suicide was her only way out. Tune in on Wednesday, October 8 at 1pm ET as I talk with the extrordinary Tori Lynn. Follow Tori on twitter @AuthorToriLynn fb - www.facebook.com/AuthorToriLynn website - www.authortorilynn.com
