Raised in upstate New York, Kevin Andreas is a writer, producer, singer and multi- instrumentalist hailing from Brooklyn, NY. He broke out singing the hook on A$AP Rocky's first hit,”Peso," and consistently writes/produces for incredible artists. He co-wrote and produced the breakout single '90s Kids' for the then American Idol and now TikTok sensation Jax. The once sideman and studio musician released a debut that took off beyond expectation. Vents Magazine called it "sexy, haunting and utterly awesome." while Paste Magazine called the track an “empowering anthem that combines energetic instrumentation and rock bombast with a soft, soulful melody." Soon it was featured on Filtr's Spotify "NEW MUSIC" playlist, as well as Filtr's "Artists to Watch" Spotify playlist. By late 2016, the track had garnered enough acclaim to warrant Spotify to place it on "Discover Weekly," leading the track to garner 130,000+ streams, all while still completely independent. Now releasing a string of singles leading up to an album, Kevin is also collaborating with members of Prince's infamous band, The Revolution. Kevin has been chosen to perform as direct support for Sabrina Carpenter (Hollywood Records) at Musikfest, and has also opened for Andy Grammer. He has performed at notable NYC venues such as Highline Ballroom, Brooklyn Bowl, Gramercy Theater, BB Kings and Webster Hall.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY into a family of artists, Phoenixx discovered her love of music at the age of 3, through her uncle who exposed her to classical and gospel music. Her mother, a lover of literature, her father a musician and grandmother, a poet, helped formulate her expansive musical knowledge. With a love of poetry, Phoennix began to work on her writing. Knowing the origin of what she was doing helped develop her deep rooted respect for music. Phoenixx has worked with Brandon Hines, producers Chris N Teeb, the Arkitects, JHype, Misto and Pizzi among others. While honing her vocal skills she sang background for Yummy Bingham, Charli Red and Shalik Rivers at 106 & Park, SOB's, BB Kings and The Bitter End. She credits artists Vanessa Williams, Brandy and Faith for influencing her sound. Tony Mann is a musician, author, costume designer, curator, film maker, talent co-ordinator, music producer and lifelong David Cassidy fan. Born and raised in New York, Tony has been at the cutting edge of the music scene all his life. He told me he could talk a blue streak about David from the experience of seeing him at Madison Square Garden in 1972, getting to know him, and being present at his final show at BB Kings in 2017. Tony is a co-author of Lost Rockers Broken Crashed Careers and did a lot of work on New York Rock Velvet Underground. He talks about the respect musicians such as David Bowie and Lou Reed had for David and the project they had in mind for David which never happened. He also reflects on how David almost joined a short-lived rock band; his desire to be recognised as a serious musician; why his so far unreleased back catalogue is important to David's artistic legacy and his disappointment over why people put boundaries around his music. We linked up over Zoom and in the background you will hear the sounds of New York City. Tony designed costumes for Joey Ramone, Zoolander and many others. In his fast-paced reflections we cover many of his observations and experiences of fandom. HELP US SPREAD THE WORD! Stāsta pavārmākslas burvis Mārtiņš Rītiņš 1994. gadā slavenais blūza maestro - BB Kings bija restorāna "Vincents" atklāšanā. Mēs viņam uzdāvinājam Suitu sievu priekšnesumus, kurus viņš baudīja Cutty Sark viskija pavadījumā. Toreiz tādu viskiju sameklēt Latvijā arī bija māksla... "Vincentā" ēdināju slaveno čellistu Mstislavu Rostropoviču. Daudzi viņu uzskata par 20. gadsimta visizcilāko čellistu. Es nekad neaizmirsīšu to neatkārtojamo auru, kas toreiz valdīja "Vincentā". Pusdienu nagla bija fazāns no Latvijas laukiem.
Julie and Casey chat with multidimensional visual and sound artist and hiphop ambassador D. Cross about exploring sound without filters, finding your path as an artist and educator, breaking down walls between disciplines. Be prepared for some poetry, multigenerational beatboxing, and hearing all about his innovative ad campaign and top secret recipe for “Universal Cola”. TOP TAKEAWAYS “Voices / voice”—what if we have more than one? The rich history of D. Cross’s influences from the late 70’s/80’s: Buffy Robinson from The Fat Boys, Michael Winslow (voice artist/actor/comedian), Al Jarreau, Doug E. Fresh, and of course, cartoons. Between his spot on imitations of famous figures (and his teachers) and a bit of class clown instinct, D. has some STORIES to tell . . . all of which point to the freedom and unfilteredness that we start out with as vocal creatures. What if we brought back that childlike spirit to exploring our voices and what they can do? Sometimes the gifts others see in us don’t match our own narrative of what we’re supposed to do in life . . . but that information can be rewarding when we try it on for size. Learning to powerfully express yourself and your point of view must live side-by-side with the curiosity about others’ voices and perspectives. It’s an exchange. The crucial ingredient of vulnerability (and therefore bravery) when we think of both play and authenticity Lesson: Consonants create compelling communication. (How’s that for alliteration?) D.Cross (Derick Cross) is a Queens NY-born and Brooklyn-based multi-dimensional vocal and visual performance artist and arts educator. He creates imagery and vocal art that transcends and crosses boundaries of genres and labels. This “Vocal Beat Expressionist” uses “vocal acrobatics “ to create sonic collages of his poetry combining words, raps and beatboxing. He has performed nationally & internationally in venues including Madison Square Garden, SOB’s, BB Kings, The New Vic Theatre, Carolines, and Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall. Mr Cross was selected as a cultural HipHop Ambassador for The US State Departments Next Level program. He recently served as a Hiphop Cultural Diplomat in Azerbaijan. D.Cross has been featured on MTV, The Electric Company Nickelodean, TV Land and BET’s 106 and Park. His vocal talents have been featured on the award winning Aflac “Pigeon Rap” ad and 7–Up ‘s “10” campaign. He was the Hottest Poets $10,000 Spoken Word Grand Champion of 2002/03 as well as a member of their international slam team of 2003. D.Cross’ visual art has been exhibited nationally and internationally (Sweden and Brazil). His artistry is currently featured in Dr Myrah Brown Green’s award winning art anthology “Brooklyn On My Mind”. Cross‘s work can be found as part of the collections of Erykah Badu (Singer), Ed Lewis (Founder of Essence), Ruby Dee (legendary actress), Judith Jamison (Alvin Ailey), Kool Herc (Hiphop founding father), Big Daddy Kane (Hiphop Legend), and Bashiri Johnson (world renowned percussionist). Mr. Cross is also a SVA (School of Visual Arts) graduate (Bachelors of Fine Arts) who has worked as an Arts Educator teaching youth visual arts and poetry for the over the past two decades. Alexis P. Suter is the owner of that big, booming voice you can hear roaring out of Brooklyn into the heart of North America and beyond. Alexis P. and her band are on the rise as accolades pour in and they continue to captivate audiences from town to town. Miss Suter and her powerful and unique ensemble artfully blend the lines between Blues, Soul, Roots and Rock music. Alexis' voice ranges from a pained passion to explosive and soul bearing. When the great Bluesman B.B. King first heard Alexis sing, he was visibly impressed and said so after her opening set for him at BB Kings in NYC. Shaking his head in wonder in his characteristic way, he remarked…. “It’s a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady.” Alexis has earned similar honors from other well-known musicians and performers including Dan Aykroyd and Levon Helm of The Band. Suter and her band have been blazing trails and taking their music to festivals and venues both nationally and internationally. Suter is currently touring in support of her upcoming release BE LOVE. APSB take modern blues and roots music in new directions, pushing the form just a bit beyond its normal boundaries with Suter's powerful, deep soulful voice charging forward.

This is the latest & BRAND NEW special episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Ausar Ra Black Hawk for the weeks of April 11, 18 & 25, 2018 where after being out of the recording mix for a while (due to a mix of being insanely busy with outside music events, moving, revamping the FuseBox Radio labs via straight construction and more between the both of us) we just did a straight commentary show which touched base on: * the deaths of actor Harry Anderson and DJ/producer Avcii * the BB Kings performance venue in New York City shutting down * insanity related to the Universal FanCon cancellation (including the betrayal of its mission of diversity + the audience it was supposed to target from regular folks to working creatives, the ever evolving crazy PR fallout, how hubris can f*ck up EVERYTHING [especially if you can't admit you messed up and/or take the proverbial L], how everyone can't be defended just because we have similar backgrounds and then some) * McCarthyism 2: Electric Boogaloo with trying to smear Black activists for being on Russian media outlets talking about American issues * Kendrick Lamar Winning the Pulitzer Prize for Music * the Starbucks situation in Philadelphia where 2 young Black men were arrested while waiting to meet up with someone * And more! Feel free to check out some recent episodes of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast over at our official blog, BlackRadioIsBack.com - most of the shows are clean/radio friendly.
In-studio for episode 61 is Appetite for Destruction, a New York-based Guns N' Roses tribute band that have been at it for TWENTY years. They been holding the GNR flag high during a time that Axl and Guns were inactive. Playing premiere clubs like BB Kings in NYC and even performing with Dizzy Reed, their journey has been an amazing one. Who are these guys? How and why have they been paying homage to their favorite childhood band for 2 decades? Tribute bands of not just GNR, but in general are popular and in-demand all over the world. What has kept them successful? How did even Howard Stern learn about them and give praise? This is a really fun conversation and the guys end the show with a live in-studio performance!! Check them out at www.gnrtribute.com. Please follow/subscribe/leave a review!

Joseph Aquino has more than 30 years of New York City real estate experience. No one knows the city better than Joe, who has assisted all of the top property owners and retailers during his long, illustrious career. Capitalizing on his many years of experience, Joe recently launched his own company and brand: Joseph Aquino Commercial Real Estate Services. Joe's specialties include; hotel, retail, office, showroom and industrial development projects. He has placed top retailers along Madison Avenue, in Soho, in the Meat Packing and Flatiron districts and in Nolita. Some of the tenants he has represented are Buccellati, Paul Shark, John Fluevog and Ports 1961. Career Highlights In 1992, Joe consulted for The 42nd Street Development Project, when Times was changing from the red light district into the family center it is known as today. He helped the state of New York create a retail use plan which described in detail all the wonderful things that could be done on the one block of 42nd street between 7th and 8th Avenues. He predicted the securing of tenants such as Disney, Madame Trussaud, and Blue Café, which turned out to be BB Kings. Joe also foresaw the corporate sponsorship of Broadway theaters that occurred when Ford Company stepped in to rebuild the Lyric Theater and American Airlines financed restoration of the Selwyn theater (American Airlines Theater). After reclamation and redevelopment of target properties in Times Square, crime decreased by 72% in the first year alone. Joe represented Amtrak for the retail level development at Penn Station. He also represented the financial district's business improvement association, The Downtown Alliance, where he assisted in the analysis for big box retail development. In addition, he has assisted in creating and designing retail use plans of numerous national brand hotels and casinos across the United States. Cartier Lease Renewal Joe was privileged to represent Cartier when the 75-year lease on its flagship mansion at Fifth Avenue and 52nd Street was up for renewal. When Joe arrived on the scene, landlord and tenant were not speaking because ten years earlier, Cartier had sued the property owner, The Onassis Foundation, in a dispute over building services. His assignment from Cartier was simple: “Get us in the good graces of the property owner and have them renew us or find us another location.” After six months of painstaking negotiations with the property owner in which Joe was instrumental, Cartier remained in its iconic location. Home in Manhattan, Connected Abroad Joe is a well know commodity in the New York City landscape, which he also calls home. With the creative energy and vision for which he is so well known, he brings a fresh approach to work and relationships in the city that never sleeps. Joe also travels extensively to bring back to Manhattan the best of European, Asian, South American, Mexican and Canadian brands and businesses. In fact, he recently launched a travel blog in which he shares with his audience news, information and insights from the many places he visits. Joe founded and leads the SBS Worldwide Group, a collaboration of top real estate professionals who live and work within their respective markets throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, South America and Canada. There are over 35 active cities represented in this group. The list of landlords Joe has worked with recounts the last 30 years of Manhattan real estate development history: Blackrock, Extell, Spitzer Enterprises, Hartz Mountain, Stahl Properties, Helmsley Organization, Coca Cola, Trump Organization, Tishman Speyer, Peninsula Hotels, Forest City Ratner, General Investment Development, CIM, Tahl Properties, Kensico Properties, Estate of Sol Goldman, Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, Taubman, Starwood Hotels, Westfield, Onassis Foundation and Minskoff. Running on Lombardy Time Joe often jokes that the day he arrives to a restaurant when it is packed, it will be time to quit the business. He runs on what he calls Lombardy Time, named for Coach Vince Lombardy of Green Bay Packers fame, who used to set his watch ten minutes fast so that he would be always arrive early to meetings. Joe explains, "It is important to always be ahead of the pack and in leasing you want to be the first to get to the space. There are no second or third places in leasing. There is only one place, and that place must be first if you're going to secure the space for your tenant.”
As the son of musician Jack Bruce (Cream), Malcolm has always been immersed in a musical environment. He recorded with Dick Heckstall-Smith, and a Brand X compilation featuring 2 of his own songs performed with Percy Jones, John Goodsall and Pierre Moerlan. In the 90s Malcolm toured and recorded with ‘Lost City’, featuring Rue Phillipsand Kofi Baker, which included a double headline US tour with Edan Everly (Don Everly’s son). KELSEY is a Country singer / songwriter from Southern New Jersey. On July 4, 2014, Kelsey released her Single that she had co-written with a songwriter from Nashville, Chuck Thomas, honoring all of our Veterans. This song was inspired through her conversations with her grandfather who served in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969 with the US Army. Kelsey has a special place in her heart for ALL Veterans and for her Country. She Proudly Honors ALL those who fight for our freedom every day. This song, “SOMETHING TO STAND FOR”, is dedicated to ALL those who serve in Our Military, past and present. In the spring of 2015 Kelsey released her first album titled “Don't Give Up”. Her inspiration for writing two of the songs on this album, “Look At Me Now” & “Don't Give Up”, are based on her past experiences throughout her middle school years. These songs are dedicated to ALL those who have been or are currently being Bullied or Abused and to those with Special Needs. Kelsey hopes that these songs will help inspire them to move on and know that… “We are all special in our own way!” Kelsey's anti-bullying message was published in the May 2014 issue of the NJ Cops Magazine, and she was the Featured Artist in the July 2014 issue of the Philadelphia Talent Magazine. Gary U.S. Bonds joins host Robin Milling to talk about his new book, By U.S. Bonds, That's My Story. Written with a foreword by Steven Van Zandt, it's an autobiography that's a love story, according to co-writer Stephen Cooper who helped Gary organize his life into 20 chapters. Impossible as that seems, the stories are classic such as meeting Bruce Springsteen and forming a friendship that still thrives. As Gary recalls Bruce came to his show in New Jersey circa '76 and years later called him to record Dedication. Gary tells Robin he repaid the favor, gifting Bruce a '57 Chevy with 'Dedication' emblazoned on the fender. Bruce still proudly drives it around Jersey. Gary's career began during the racially charged '50s where music might be color blind but the world certainly wasn't. He says he'd perform at all-white clubs, painfully aware of the segregation, but blended in as an entertainer and never had a problem. It was only touring with Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars in the early '60s that he experienced racism when he couldn't stay at the same hotel as white bands like Bobby Rydell. At 74, Gary has lived a life of music and still does celebrating his birthday at BB Kings in NYC where musicians come to honor his musical legacy. There's plenty more story to be told. The Radiators blend some Creole spice with a little bit of bayou funk and then add some of that mean river blues to create what is know as Fish Head Music. Like fine jambalaya, you just never know exactly what the Radiators will cook up. Their non stop yearly tours include the top clubs and festivals, from BB Kings in NYC to High Sierra fest in Quincy, CA. Their fans have honored the true New Orleans connection the Radiators represent by forming private krewes all over America. But instead of beads these people throw Radiators shows. Their DADs ball every Halloween in Minnesota has become legendary. In only its fourth year, The Monkey Krewe of south Florida has followed valiantly in its predecessors footsteps. Like the Minnesota DADs krewe, many members of the Monkey Krewe are frequent visitors to New Orleans and have an eye for keeping things as authentic as possible. There is a Monkey Krewe Court with coronations and the weekend builds up to a masquerade ball known as the Monkey Ball, of course. And these fans do not miss a detail. They have a website and an email list. This is serious fun. When Monkey Ball rolls into South Florida the first weekend of January it will seem as if New Orleans was visiting, and that's the whole idea.
