ABOUT USBefore our serendipitous meeting in school car line hell a decade ago we SoFla rubias and accidental autism moms had no idea we were living parallel vidas locas. Together, we're kicking butt and taking names with a little help from sunshine, wine, and #framily time. Does our bleach weaken our wit? Over our tanned bodies!MEET KRISTIBlessed with blonde wisps at birth (now maintained at a cost undisclosed to her husband), Kristi's mane role is mama to two additional golden-haired beauties- one who just so happens to have autism. Born in the 305, raised in the 954, and training boys to be men in the 561, Kristi has proven not even Dave Barry can chase her from a Florida state-of-mind. In her infinite amount of spare time (insert maniacal laugh) she pours what's left of her Vitamin D induced energy into Puzzle Peace Now, a non-profit she founded in 2009. Finally, Kristi splits her ends between enjoying quality days in the sun with husband Tim and basking in the glow of her 16-year friendship with bestie Brenda.MEET BRENDACuban born, Miami & Hialeah raised, and current Broward County resident (but still 305 all day), Brenda is Dylan (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and Oliver's (CHRNA7 duplication + Hypotonia + epilepsy + scoliosis) mami. In 2007, blogging about her life as a mom of two special needs kids as ASD QUEEN BEE was cheaper than therapy became a creative and therapeutic outlet. Six years later, she developed THE WHET PALETTE, a blog discussing her passion for food, wine, and travel. Brenda's journey also includes an extensive background in interior design and dance. The perfect next step? Podcasting! Her colorful palette wouldn't be complete without her husband Lawrence's support and endless belly-laughs with the other rubia, Kristi.Support the show

“Does your brand design SUCK?” “Why it matters now, and why “later” just won’t do.” Listen in to Warrior Women in Business Episode #34, on location in the new WWIB location, SOFLA, with featured guest and Warrior Women in Business exclusive design coach and JSM Design partner, Nia Dara and Jasmine Sandler Social Brand Strategy Expert and WWIB CEO. Stay until the end for branding and design deals at https://www.jasminesandlerdigitalmarketingmedia.com/ This is for anyone looking to improve their brand presence. This applies to any executive, entrepreneur or artist who is struggling to have their brand seen, heard and engaged. Nia Dara, featured guest and WWIB host, CEO, and Brand Strategy expert, Jasmine Sandler, shares the keys of getting your brand unstuck, defining and designing a brand that engages, and how to best use your brand to drive business and career growth. Building a business and brand in today’s market is more than just about a good idea. You’ve got to be able to attract customers and partners right out of the gate. Good design is a front-loaded undertaking with long-term value and benefits. However, during early stages of business growth quality design is subjected to the sidelines of business management demands. Many business owners will all to often sacrifice good design altogether because of financial limitations or otherwise, saving brand design for a “future” notion of profits and growth without any planning or structure to attain the goal of brand growth and scale. The true cost of sidelining design is more than the cost of hiring a designer in the present, it also means sidelining relationships, brand trust, brand recognition, and ultimately… sales for both the present and future. A good and polished brand design can communicate its value, can achieve a competitive edge, and establish trust for both consumers, business partnerships, opportunities, and more. In this digital age, it’s more important than ever to be perceived as a reputable brand with a lasting presence, and with the ability to attract consumers and secure profitability Learn how to get unstuck with your brand and start seeing a brand that aligns with your purpose and drives business. About Warrior Women in Business: Warrior Women In Business is a member organization that has a mission of supporting women in business and women in the homes. Eve Eurydice speaks with Farah C Yamini & Rosen T Gordon, non-binary queer Miami-based poets, activists, scholars. Farah is programming director of Reading Queer & mentors the SoFla Protest Poets. Rosen is the administrator of the Rainbow Rights PAC, member of SoFla Protest Poets & performs slam poetry centering zhir identities. Naming has long been a normative tool of the patriarchy. Gender claiming is a creative human act: we get to create who we are in the world & how we are described. Our orientation, our attraction, our sexuality. We get to redefine it as we evolve. We don’t have to embody static identities. There are so many different forms of attraction. We can clarify our desires for the sake of honest communication & at the same time participate in the creation & use of the language. Linguistic intimacy, linguistic respect & specificity are a daily means of social intervention & resistance to the dominant propaganda. Rosen T. Gordon (zhe, zhir, zhirs) utilizes the intersectionality framework coined by Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw in zhir fight for the rights of LGBTQIA+ POC marginalized communities & fights for social justice. Rosen guides us into the practice of renaming & specifying our gender identity, understanding how & why. This is the first episode in a special three part series on Miami Tech the early days. The first Americas Venture Capital Conference, the AVCC, held in October 2010 was an inflection point for Miami Tech. At the AVCC Miami based "OpenEnglish", which went on to raise over $100 million, found its first institutional investor. The seeds for the LAB Miami, AGP/Miami Angels and the SIME tech conferences were planted at the AVCC. And in less than a year after the AVCC the Knight Foundation was supporting tech initiatives throughout Miami. But we also forget that during the later half of the 2000s there were some pioneers working to create a tech scene in Miami. Well before the Knight Foundation began its support of tech and innovation projects. Before the LAB created a place that invited the tech community inside to log on and connect. Before AGP/Miami Angels began educating and supporting local angel investors. And before the dozens of other initiatives big and small that led Miami by 2019 to be the No. 7 metro area in the nation measured by total VC activity, ranked ahead of more established tech hubs like Austin, Chicago and Washington DC.On today's podcast we speak with two of the pioneers of the early days of Miami Tech: Brian Breslin and Auston Bunsen. Brian founded Refresh Miami in 2006, starting out as a handful of friends sharing ideas in a Starbucks. More than a decade later it has grown to a community over 10,000 strong and is for many the heart and soul of Miami Tech. He currently the Director of the Launch Pad at the University of Miami, another tech initiative from the late 2000s. Auston is widely regarded as one of the most powerful voices in Miami's tech ecosystem. He created the Miami based SuperConf, a 2 day conference for web entrepreneurs, developers and designers that broke the mold of all tech conferences before and after in Miami. He has founded several companies, most recently CBlocks. Thanks to the efforts of people like Brian and Auston and lots of others more than a decade ago, in 2019 SoFla realized $2.39 billion of VC activity, which compares pretty favorably to the $1.98 billion of VC activity in ALL of LatAm during 2018. In this podcast we share a lively conversation about the characters and motivations behind Miami Tech, the early years. In the tech world Juan Pablo is known as one of the partners of Patagon.com, one of the first on-line banks that was bought by Banco Santander for more than US$700 million. Juan Pablo has co-founded Idea.me, Lab Miami, Lab Ventures, Miami Angels & Wonder (purchased in 2020 by Atari). He also publishes a widely read column on the TecnoLatino https://latamlist.com/author/jpcappello/ and continues advising entrepreneurs in the region from PAGLaw https://www.pag.lawThe podcast “Aqui & Ahora” asks: What are the leaders of the TecnoLatino doing “here & now”? How are they facing the changes and challenges we are living? “Aqui & Ahora” offers tips for entrepreneurs, investors and supporters of the TecnoLatino.Sponsored by PAGLaw

I was absolutely delighted to see my old high school friend come back to the south Florida theater scene last March. David Abeles came through the Kravis Center on his Broadway tour of Matilda the Musical, playing the dominant and imposing role of Miss Trunchbull. I took my son to go see my friend do what I know he does best, and we were both so delighted by Dave’s performance and the entire cast and production! What a treat!! Dave and I went to high school together at Pine Crest School in Ft. Lauderdale, and I always knew he would grow up to give his talents as a gift to the world. He was one of those people who just had that “it” factor; but, what makes him so special is that he is truly humble. On this podcast, he shares the story of his journey from Broward County to London to New York, and what life is like as an actor on the move!! Follow Dave on Twitter as @iAmDavidAbeles! In this episode, I catch up with young and super-talented DJ & music composer, Alex Ariete! You may remember Alex as one of my very first CTC Kid from episode 11—back when he was known by his original stage name, DJ Pop Drop. Each time I see Alex out and about, it’s incredible how much he’s grown—physically and musically. Since we last sat down, Alex has continued to develop his skills as a musician—creating new original tracks, playing a bunch of gigs, traveling for different events and things, meeting amazing EDM mentors, and collaborating with different artists. On top of that, Alex continues to excel at his dance, competing regularly and doing very well! He’s simply a powerhouse of young, ambitious, and promising talent. On the podcast, we talk about how he’s grown musically and artistically and how important his parents’ support continues to be. Catch Alex on Palm Beach FM every other Tuesday night where he is not only a resident DJ, but is also starting to conduct his own industry interviews. I’m so excited to see where this kid goes! Founder of Poetry In Motion Productions: (PIMP!), Jessica, now known as “Empress Prestige,” knows a thing or two about doing her own thing. She began what started as an unformed idea mass four years ago and worked it into what is now a thriving, repeat project of her own unique concept: ChoreoPoems. These are forms of dramatic expression that combine poetry, dance, music and song. She conceptualizes the overall story arc, directs the talent, and produces the overall program; but, what makes her plays so unique is that she leaves creative license for each role and its expression to the individual player. Essentially, the cast writes much of the content and she threads it together into a cohesive, intelligent expression of her story. Their next project is the 4th installment of Pleasant City Thee ChoreoPoem to be shown soon at The Palm Beach Improv and The Mozart Theatre. Also, Empress is working to bring this piece into the forum of a film called Thee Movie. So exciting!! Her storytelling has community and cultural purpose for the enjoyment and education of every generation. Her diligence, humor, and passion are a true inspiration! I have had the pleasure of knowing Virginia Sinicki of the KVJ Show for a number of years now, and she's never ceased being an amazing source of girl power. She is a dedicated enthusiast of all things celebrity, gossip, and pot-stirring, and brings her unique comedic voice to our local airwaves every weekday morning on 97.9 WRMF. From good dirt and hilarious bits to charity events and KVJ Nation comradery, I've been a fan of all things KVJ for years. Virginia's counterparts, Kevin Rolston and Jason Pennington, have both graced this podcast in the past, and I'm so happy to now complete that trifecta!! She has a true passion for what she does, crafting her skills over the years, honing her talents for promotional spots and event hosting, and giving of herself to her special charity, Little Smiles of Florida. She is a real example of working hard to gain success at what you do, and I was excited to sit down with her to share some sangria and inside industry scoop!! I met Jamaal “Visualist” Clark at an art event put on by Exhibit Treal a couple of weeks ago where he was photographing the evening. And, it turns out that he was also a painter who had lent a couple of pieces to the event—pieces that I LOVED. So, I was excited to have Jamaal on the podcast. We sat down and talked about a whole range of topics—from comic books to graffiti, film to digital, his time in school to being a teacher now himself. And, Jamaal was delightful throughout it all. He shared with me what the name “Visualist” means, the theme behind his heart, and what mark he wants to leave in the art world. There are a lot of great nuggets in this podcast for any aspiring artist or person visualizing their own dream!! I was DELIGHTED to meet with a group of kids who are competing in the First Lego League tournament circuit! Morgan Domeyer, Natasha Mayorga, Garrett Reardon, and Carsten Kjaerulff are from Poinciana Elementary and members of the “Taz Bots” team learning under the direction of their coach, Gloria Gibson. Each year, the FLL’s competitions focus on a different theme, and this year’s them is the Trash Trek Challenge. The kids and I discuss their recent competition in February, what world challenges they’ve been asked to think through and help tackle, the awesomeness that is Lego, what they like about robotics and coding, and more! They’ve earned their way to the next level of competitions happening in May: Morgan and Natasha are representing the team headed to the FLL Razorback International in Arkansas, while Garrett and Carsten are representing the team headed to the FLL Open European Championship in the Canary Islands, Spain. So, they have a LOT to look forward to with their upcoming trips and competitions! These kids are thoughtful, extremely bright, super sweet, adorable, and the future of robotics and engineering. I mean, just check out this website of their innovative video clips to see for yourself! You will enjoy meeting them as much as I did! They do need your help getting to this next round of competition, though, and are currently raising funds to help out with their trip. So, here’s how you can help:GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/d5p3d Send a check: Made out to Poinciana STEM and mail it to 1203 North Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach, Fla. 33435, or give to a parent of a teammate. I first met Tori Lynn backstage at WRMF’s No Snow Ball, where she and I geeked out together over seeing Adam Lambert walk down the hall toward us, and the rest was history! So, when I asked her to be on my podcast, I could think of no better place to record than in the shadows of where we met: outside of the Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca. A naturally-gifted singer and performance artist, Tori Lynn won her shot at opening for Adam Lambert and Third Eye Blind at No Snow Ball by winning WRMF’s Dirty Voice Contest. From early releases like "Labyrinth of Love" and "Nobody but Me" to her latest tracks, including “Mama Said,” “Young and Free,” and “Fading Lightz,” Tori Lynn has garnered an incredible following. And, she has great affection for her fans! Her motivation is spreading positivity and inspiration, along with raising awareness for an incurable disease that has affected her family: Cystinosis. Please visit Cystinosis.org to help support her cause! A triple threat of singing, dancing, and acting, Tori Lynn is an absolute show-stopper! As many of you may well now know, the purpose of Curve the Cube is to inspire people to pursue their dreams and passions--whether full time, part time, or simply as a hobby. This is my "love letter" submission to Libsyn's "Thanks, Podcasting" project--a collaboration I am so excited, thankful, privileged, honored, and proud to be a part of! Curve the Cube started as a small seedling of a concept, and I honestly did not know where I would take it; but, it has turned out to be more of where IT has taken ME!! While driven to inspire others by interviewing those pursuing their dreams to share how they are doing it, I've realized that I am curving my own cube. It's been a fantastic journey of meeting new people, professionally networking, and strengthening relationships, and I'm just getting started! Curve the Cube celebrated it's one-year anniversary last month, and I promise it was just the first of many. I must give a HUGE thank you to Libsyn, my guests, listeners, and sponsors for all their support!! Please visit my sponsors page for more info on these wonderful people. What a fun podcast this was with Jason Hackett of WPTV!!! Jason and I yuck it up throughout pretty much the entire thing! We met up at the Vivid Arts App kickoff party for previous guests, EGee Labs, at Le Rendez-vous, and simply had a great time. His spoke very affectionately about every crew he’s worked with, acknowledged that he has a responsibility on air as a black role model, and LOVED (not!) that I found out which fun kids’ spot he worked at in his early years. We took a pretty serious turn early in the discussion to talk about Corey Jones—the latest case focusing the national discussion of excessive force by police. All of these stories from Zimmerman to Ferguson on forward have hit close to home for both of us; but, now it was actually in our own backyard. His coverage of the peaceful rally of family, friends, and other supporters of Corey Jones was exceptional, and his take on it from his various perspectives was highly insightful. In the end, he turned the tables on me with a question that lead to a complete and utter GEEK OUT by us both, and I’m still stunned that he knew as much on that topic as I do. So, you’ll have to wait for that little nugget of podcast goodness. But, his facial expressions (and the adult beverage I was sipping on) had me laughing through the entire conversation. It was simply soooo fun!! One note of correction: I meant to say “Downy,” not Febreeze!! (You’ll know what I mean when it gets there, lol.) As a main face of the WPBF Channel 25 Weather team, Sandra Shaw is a leader in the field of meteorology and an inspiration to determined young scientists everywhere!! My dear friend, Drew, opens up with me on this podcast about his journey as a female-to-male transgendered individual—the physical, financial, social, and emotional impact and struggles the transgender life brings. Simply speaking, it is not easy. Imagine all the rigors and stresses of everyday life compounded and magnified by the very body you are in being at odds with both your mind and society’s expectations. Every step out into the world to tackle those everyday tasks becomes an awkward dance of considerations: how you dress, how you act, who to talk to, etc…--all because your gender identity is more complex than the XX versus XY boxes we have been accustomed to. The purpose of Curve the Cube is to inspire people to pursue their dreams by interviewing and picking the brains of those who are living their dreams. Typically, topics of the podcast stay within the realm of professional or hobby-like passions: owning a business, supporting yourself as an artist, etc… However, I can think of no dream pursuit that requires more literal blood, sweat, and tears than that of a transgender person trying to find their way into the right body and out of the shadows. Most of us are very lucky. The journey into a body that physically matches the mind inside is usually accomplished for us in the privacy of a womb—without any effort on our part whatsoever. For some, though, that journey is public and arduous. I can’t thank my friend, Drew, for not only sharing his story, but also being so open and honest. He has asked to remain anonymous due to his professional pursuits, which is just an honest reflection that there is more understanding and acceptance to come from our society. This is definitely the longest podcast episode thus far, though I tried to edit it down for time as much as possible. The message is just so important and involves so many elements I never before considered, that I wanted Drew’s story to be told as fully as I could. I encourage all to hear the whole episode! For transgender resources, this page on GLAAD’s website is a good place to start. I hope we all end with compassion… This episode of Curve the Cube is sponsored by Sol Experiences—the Florida events company to enhance your SOLcial life! From a dream conceived to a life lived, Paul Varian is a clear case of following a passion and making a career out of it! When he was a kid, Paul told his folks that he wanted to grow up to catch fish--and, catch fish he does! Splitting time between spear fishing and guiding reef tours during down times, Paul has figured out how to make his dream a reality. He gets to spend every day in the salt and sun if the sea--catching every range of Florida fish. And, some of his catches are truly hell. Let's face it, some fish can be pretty badass, and when in the water, we're in their territory. Couple that with a water pressure environment our squishy human bodies weren't built for, and you have a recipe for potential disaster. The Weather Channel capitalized on the high-seas drama of spear fishing last year with Catching Hell--and, Paul was cast as a star! Though a second season is currently on hold, watch out for any announcements on Facebook or WeatherChannel.com! (You can also find old episodes on Ora TV!) Holy cannoli, #KVJNation! I am sooo happy to bring you this anniversary treat: a BONUS Curve the Cube podcast episode especially for you!! We started a campaign a year ago to bring back our favorite morning radio show, the KVJ Show, and WON! So, though this audio was recorded at the South Florida Fair back in January, its release (and Kevin Rolston’s permission to finally do so) is just perfectly timed! So, what happens when you combine Kevin, a voice recorder, and a fiesty KVJ Nation interviewer named Shawntai? GREAT audio! After hearing this, there should be no more doubt or naysaying as to the Show’s motivation (and NEED) to make a move to Miami. As ill-fated as it was, Kevin makes it clear that it was the Show’s and their fans’ BEST option. In the end, we got them back to the Palm Beaches. So, that other broadcasting company really missed out. But, thank you to Palm Beach Broadcasting and 97.9 WRMF for bringing back our crazy radio family. Kevin chants for fan and makes a really incredible deal with KVJ Nation Terry that you won’t believe!!! This episode of Curve the Cube is sponsored by Little Smiles of Florida! Candice Hoyes is a classically trained jazz singer born in Jamaica, raised in Florida, and exploding onto the New York jazz scene. Equally elegant and strong, Candice’s voice is charismatic and intriguing; and, in her debut album, On a Turquoise Cloud, she sings like a melodic ribbon carefully woven through and dancing with the big band jazz instruments accompanying her. Having known her since we were kids, it was always a privilege to see and hear Candice perform. Her voice is simply magnificent; but, catching up with her now was amazing! For her album, she didn’t just choose easy standards or even the most known songs from her muse, Duke Ellington. Nope… Not this Candice Hoyes! She did her research and found some rare Duke Ellington tracks that could express her musical journey in an innovative way. The album is complete in its offerings of a fully-executed concept, highly talented and accomplished instrumental accompaniments, and stunningly eclectic vocals. On this podcast, she talks about the experiences that developed her as an artist, her choices in developing her voice and album, and the adventures through the New York music scene. She isn't just out of this world; Candice Hoyes is #?OnATurquoiseCloud! Be sure to check out her debut album on iTunes or Google Play! You can take The Pizza Girls out of New York, but you can't take the New York out of their pizza! Transplanted in the 90s, Jennifer and Phoebe promised West Palm the most authentically New York pizza experience. They soon realized their newfound love of Florida, and have been delivering on that promise ever since! Located on the end of Clematis Street, where the fountains meet the heart of downtown, the Pizza Girls restaurant has THRIVED!!! Along with their hard work and successes building a small business, the Girls have reaped the benefits of their location's rejuvenation and vibrancy. There is always something (or, oftentimes, several somethings) going on just steps from their doorway. And, their patrons LOVE it!! (Trust me: there is nothing better at an outdoor festival or on a party night than a slice of their Hawaiian, a personal fave.) Jennifer and Phoebe really opened up on this podcast, too. Not only do they offer stories that every business can relate to and gain from, but they also delve into some areas of their personal lives that I was so honored to hear about. So, sit back and enjoy this podcast. Like their pizza, the Girls offer up every ounce of realness that the New York in them can supply!! So, head to their website, www.PizzaGirls.com. You can literally click on their images to have them say “Hello”! Music Bed courtesy of DJ John Hitta!!!

Meet Dan Corcoran--one of the reporters for south Florida's division of Scripps' The List! Coming from a hard-hitting news background traveling the country, Dan's "Around South Florida" segments are a window into how he is getting his south Florida footing through some really random local finds! The List is an entertaining trending topics show with funny and often nostalgic pop culture references sprinkled throughout. Through their locally-based "Around Town" segments, each market gets a more in-depth focus on its own backyard. The show's motto is "There’s the news… and then there’s THE LIST."; and in south Florida, that often gets uniquely interesting. Dan's "Around South Florida" segments allow him to explore the local eateries, events, and other goings-on that make south Florida so captivating; and, Dan’s reporting is super sweet and charming! Enjoy his podcast and then tune in to The List weeknights! In south Florida, that would be on WPTV Channel 5 at 7pm. Otherwise, check your local listings! Music Bed courtesy of DJ John Hitta!!! This tenth episode of the Curve the Cube podcast features Amir Arison, also known as "Aram" on NBC’s The Blacklist!!! I had the privilege of going to high school with Amir and getting to see his theatrical potential ignite from an early age. He was simply a STAR! To watch Amir’s career really blossom and take off over the last several years has been UNBELIEVABLY exciting!! He has breathed life into roles on stage in such productions as The Muscles in Our Toes and on screen with appearances in hits like Jane Wants a Boyfriend, Girls, American Horror Story, Homeland, and Law & Order SVU. His role as the enthusiastic and precise, yet nervous and self-conscious, Aram on The Blacklist has solidified his national spotlight. Amir’s years of experience in the entertainment industry have already afforded him a great deal of wisdom, sage advice, and hilarious stories, and he shares so much of all that right here. Talented, handsome, funny, and charming, Amir is on a bright rise to the top as both an actor and a promising director. I am so grateful that, on his way up, he stopped by the podcast to reminisce and lend us a dash of his humor and wit to this episode. Amir lives in New York, but is a Florida boy at heart, and he was so gracious to open his parents’ home to me during the holidays for this podcast. You are in for a great mix of both laughs and insightful nuggets! Enjoy! Music Bed courtesy of DJ John Hitta!!! Copyright Flint Stone Media, LLC 2014.
This super-short podcast is my first multi-guess-cast and features three extremely talented up-and-coming hip-hop artists, Cohen Robinson, Patrick Watkins, & The Trufe! Cohen and The Trufe (a.k.a., Myles Robinson) are brothers; but, they have been friends with Patrick since they were kids. So, they consider themselves all brothers. Whether working together on their group or doing their own individual projects, Cohen, Patrick, and The Trufe always support each other—and tonight was just another example. Cohen Robinson had one a singing contest that gave him the opportunity to open for the Vanilla Ice Block Party, and Patrick and The Trufe collaborated with him on the performance. This podcast was recorded backstage right after their set, where it was crazy loud, energetic, and surreal. What an honor to be able to speak with and get to know a little bit about these guys after such an awesome moment in their lives! Enjoy! Music Bed courtesy of DJ John Hitta!!! I kicked off this second series of the Curve the Cube podcast with a guy who brings us sooo much great inside-track south Florida content! Aaron Wormus created the Twitter handle, aGuyOnClematis, to chronicle the development of the West Palm Beach waterfront—and it has turned into SO much more! On this podcast, Aaron talks about why he brings us so many daily glimpses into the goings-on in West Palm Beach—with nearly exclusive insight into the cultural and entertainment hotspot that is Clematis Street. He divulges one of his inside tips to getting his info, shares his favorite spots, and makes it clear that, if it’s going on on Clematis, it’s going on in his Twitter account. And, BONUS: this podcast ended with a total surprise podcast crash by the Pizza Girls themselves, Jennifer and Phoebe! This was definitely a super fun podcast!! Enjoy!!! This podcast was sooo much fun to record! Andrea really came to have fun!! She has been in the entertainment industry for 15 years, and has had a breadth of experience and successes. She is currently (amongst many other things) the arena host and reporter for the Florida Panthers and is spreading her wings in the world of acting. Andrea has touched just about every corner of the entertainment industry, and now is focused on growing her company and relaunching her blog, Media-Gypsy, which focuses on helping others pursue THEIR dreams. We sat down with some wine, and she got REAL!! Andrea talks about her entry into the industry through dancing and cheering for the Miami Dolphins, the struggles of coming up, and her future goals. We got into the pressures that women face in particular in entertainment, the pitfalls that people in general often face, and what it really takes to keep the gears running toward success. She was a delight, seriously funny, and allowed me the opportunity to totally geek out with her about horror movies and zombies. Simply stated, Andrea was SO MUCH FUN, and I can say I’ve walked away from this podcast with a new friend!!! This is the PREMIER episode of Curve the Cube, and in this episode, we feature Kevin Rolston of the KVJ Show—a big dog of morning radio here in south Florida! I feel privileged to call Kevin both a friend and mentor. So, I am very grateful that he graced the Curve the Cube podcast’s pilot episode! And, Kevin really brings it! After surprising me with a bit of beat boxing, Kevin gets into the evolution of radio in his life (including just how he broke into the biz), some hilarious coming-of-age tales (which show why he needs to call his mother more often), and the hit to his chest that changed his life. He also talks about life in and on radio, adding a story that really made me tear up. I must apologize in advance, though. Muddle through the moments of bad sound quality mixed with my obnoxious laugh. It’s worth it! There are so many gems in this podcast!! This episode of Curve the Cube is sponsored by the KVJ Show on 97.9 WRMF right here in Palm Beach County. Tune in to hear Kevin, Virginia, and Jason’s hysterical morning banter and bits that bring the funniest content in radio entertainment by and for south Florida. Listen to them weekday mornings from 6-10. They live here, too! Promo Code Info: Head to LittleSmiles.org to order your next KVJ Show or KVJ Nation t-shirt.
