Today, Diane talks to Michael Tamez about healthy and balanced living through changing how you think about food. Michael has been on a 15-year journey to lose over 100 pounds. They discuss the emotional and mental breakthrough Michael had in order to make this change. Michael attributes his weight gain to repressed emotions of anger and sadness which caused him to overeat. This in turn created high blood pressure, sleep apnea and other health problems. Michael is a holistic health coach who helps people make permanent changes to their lives and the way they eat. He is also the author of the book “Transformative Nutrition: The Ultimate Guide to Healthy and Balanced Living”. Michael studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition which is where Diane also studied. There, he completely relearned his attitude to food. Michael is now happily married, at his ideal weight and living a life he loves. What you will learn: Michael lost 70-75 pounds over 8-9 months. After the weight loss his medical problems disappeared. Stress in modern life can mimic other symptoms in the body. Michael helps people live with less stress to help loose weight. When stressed one reaches for the bad food. Being healthy and balances is about managing stress and being conscious of what you eat. Eating out for lunch each day affects your waist line and wallet. Make a big dinner and eat leftovers the next day. Invest in your health by taking time to make lunch. A lot of the weight we hold onto isn’t physical, it’s emotional. We are conditioned to eat by the media, surroundings and advertising. By 2030 40% of US adults will be obese. We have to unlearn all the things we know about food. Give up the dieting gimmicks and take your health into your own hands. Investment into your health is more important than any monetary investment.
