Dynasty Fantasy Football discussed in-depth. Co-hosts Colin Winship and Toby Collis Handford dive deeper to give your dynasty team an advantage, helping you create a dynasty within your own league.
With nearly a quarter of the 2021 NFL season behind us, many players have disappointed their fantasy managers and have become good buy low options in dynasty fantasy football. In this episode, Colin and Toby go through their list of buy low players that have a chance to help you win a dynasty championship this season. Then of course we finish off the episode with our Dynasty Buy of the Week segment! At the end of the episode, we discuss that we will be taking a few weeks off before another episode will be released. To keep up with any future announcements and updates about when the next episode will be coming, make sure to follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty! Here is an explanation to the Dynasty Buy of the Week segment that we do to end each episode: One of the two co-hosts, alternating every week, chooses a player that they think is undervalued in dynasty and needs to be either be added or traded for in your dynasty leagues. They then create 5 hints that make it progressively easier for the other co-host to guess which player it is. We tally up how the guesser does each week, giving more points for guessing correctly with as few hints as possible. At the end of each year, we'll track who did best over the course of the year. Of course, at the end of each week's segment, we'll break down why that player deserves to be named our Dynasty Buy of the Week.
After the first three weeks of the 2021 NFL season, we discuss which players have levelled up as dynasty assets, and which players have levelled down or fallen off. These players' values have changed due to their new situations or a change in their play. We go through our list of players and for each of them, take a stance on if we expect their current trajectories to continue, or if these first three games are not representative of what is to come. Thanks for all your continued support! We would really appreciate it if you could leave us a review on your favorite podcast app. It really helps us grow! We're finally one week away from the NFL draft and that means this is our final Rookie Spotlight episode of the offseason. Devonta Smith, Amari Rodgers and Nico Collins are three wide receiver prospects who are valued very differently by different scouts. Devonta Smith is coming off of a Heisman Trophy and National Championship season at Alabama and is likely going to be drafted in the early first round but there are a lot of question marks surrounding his weight and BMI. Amari Rodgers and Nico Collins are players that will be taken much later in Dynasty Rookie Drafts but both offer a lot of upside for Fantasy Football. Listen along as we compare these prospects with the rest of the class, predict where they'll be taken in the NFL draft and add them to our individual rookie rankings. Make sure you follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty to keep up with all our new episodes and make sure to look for our Final Predraft Rookie Rankings episode that will drop in your feed next Tuesday. Here is an explanation to the Dynasty Buy of the Week segment that we do every week: One of the two co-hosts, alternating every week, chooses a player that they think is undervalued in dynasty and needs to be either be added or traded for in your dynasty leagues. They then create 5 hints that make it progressively easier for the other co-host to guess which player it is. We tally up how the guesser does each week, giving more points for guessing correctly with as few hints as possible. At the end of each year, we'll track who did best over the course of the year. Of course, at the end of each week's segment, we'll break down why that player deserves to be the Dynasty Buy of the Week.
A final trio of running backs are discussed this week on our second last edition of the Rookie Spotlight Series. Alabama's Najee Harris is a well-rounded prospect that is commonly ranked as the top running back in the 2021 NFL Draft class. Jaret Patterson from Buffalo and Khalil Herbert from Virginia Tech are more under-the-radar backs that both offer impressive rushing ability. Listen as we dive into each of their prospect profiles, comparing our notes and ranking them along the way. Follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty to keep up with everything we're putting out ahead of the NFL Draft! You'll hear from us again next week with our final Rookie Spotlight episode before we get into our complete predraft rookie rankings! Small, speedy wide receivers are this week's focus in this episode of our Rookie Spotlight series. Elijah Moore out of Ole Miss, Kadarius Toney out of Florida and Tutu Atwell out of Louisville are all expected to be taken in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft. They all provide significant upside for fantasy football with their speed and dynamism but have distinct traits that differentiate themselves from each other. We break down each of their entire prospect profiles, including their college statistics, pro day results and what stood out on tape. Then we rank them against each other and against the rest of the 2021 wide receiver class in terms of where we are willing to take them in our Dynasty Rookie Drafts. The final three quarterbacks we'll be doing a deep dive on before the NFL Draft are Trevor Lawrence, Kyle Trask and Kellen Mond. Trevor Lawrence, out of Clemson is the presumed first overall pick in the NFL Draft and will likely play on the Jacksonville Jaguars. Kyle Trask and Kellen Mond are both expected to be taken somewhere on day two and both profile as interesting late round picks in superflex dynasty leagues. We break down all of their prospect profiles, debate their upside for fantasy football and discuss where we'll target them in rookie drafts. The pair of wide receivers featured in this week's Rookie Spotlight both have high ceilings for fantasy football with their big play ability and proficiency in the red zone. Terrace Marshall Jr. and Tamorrion Terry both profile as alpha receivers in the NFL and both could be drafted anywhere from day one to day three in the NFL Draft. Listen along with us as we break down their prospect profiles and college statistics at LSU and Florida State University, respectively. We end the episode with a player who's dynasty value has dropped significantly recently. We argue why right now is the perfect buying window to trade for him or draft him in dynasty start ups. We're excited this week as our Rookie Spotlight series reaches some deeper sleeper picks in the 2021 NFL draft class. Michael Carter, Kylin Hill and Rhamondre Stevenson all have unique aspects of their prospect profiles that make them each interesting as dynasty prospects. We expect them to all be taken somewhere after the first two rounds in the NFL Draft and all represent potential values at where they'll likely be taken in rookie drafts. This episode also includes a Dynasty Buy of the Week who is insanely undervalued and can be added for next to nothing. Our predraft series continues with an in-depth look into the prospect profiles of Ja'Marr Chase and Seth Williams. Ja'Marr Chase and Seth Williams are both wide receivers from the SEC who are entering the draft in 2021 but are viewed very differently for dynasty fantasy football. Chase is the consensus top receiver who profiles as a top-end, alpha WR while Williams is much more under the radar as a prospect and is projected to be taken in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. We discuss their prospect profiles, college stats, their upside in fantasy football and where we individually rank them compared with the rest of the 2021 rookie class. As always, make sure you follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty! You can tweet at us with any fantasy questions you have and we'll get back to you right away. Finally our rookie spotlight series has reached the tight end position! This week we're doing a deep dive into the consensus top three tight ends in the 2021 NFL Draft for dynasty fantasy football. Kyle Pitts out of Florida, Pat Freiermuth out of Penn State and Brevin Jordan out of Miami are all expected to be taken in the first two days of the draft and have a ton of fantasy upside. We break down each of their prospect profiles, predict where they might go in the NFL Draft and discuss where they fall in our dynasty rookie rankings before getting into our Dynasty Buy of the Week. Continuing our predraft series where we're diving into prospects who are entering the NFL Draft in 2021, this week is focused on Tylan Wallace and Dyami Brown. Wallace and Brown are both wide receivers who will hopefully be taken somewhere in the first three rounds of the draft. These two prospects have vastly different strengths but are ranked very similarly throughout the dynasty fantasy football community. We'll discuss their prospect profiles, college stats, their upside in fantasy football and where we individually rank them compared with the rest of the 2021 rookie class. Trey Sermon and Jermar Jefferson are two exciting running back prospects who have declared for the 2021 NFL Draft. These are two polarizing prospects that could go anywhere in day 2 or 3 of the NFL Draft and could provide a lot of upside for dynasty fantasy football. Listen as we break down their college careers, athletic profiles, how excited we are for each of them as they enter the NFL and how high we are willing to take them in our dynasty rookie drafts. As always, make sure you follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty and let us know which pair of wide receivers we need to dive into for our next episode. Moving back to the wide receiver position, our rookie spotlight series continues, diving deep into the prospects in the class of 2021. Jaylen Waddle is a highly regarded prospect from Alabama. Despite some injury concerns, Waddle brings elite speed and burst making him a projected first round pick in the 2021 NFL draft. Amon-Ra St. Brown is a much more under the radar prospect. A junior from USC, St. Brown proved himself to be an effective, versatile weapon who can line up anywhere in an offense and provides significant upside for dynasty fantasy football. Make sure to Tweet at us @DeepDiveDynasty to let us know which pair of prospect you'd like to hear about next week! Thanks for all of your continued support, we've loved sharing our prospecting process with all of you over these last couple months.
Zach Wilson and Trey Lance are Junior Quarterbacks who have both declared for the 2021 NFL Draft. Coming out of BYU and North Dakota State, respectively, they're both expected to be taken somewhere in the first round. For dynasty, each of them provide rushing upside and both have a unique ceiling and floor for fantasy football. We break down our NFL comps for each prospect, discuss which landing spots would suit each of them best and rank them within the 2021 class of quarterbacks. For our fourth edition of the Rookie Spotlight series, we return to running backs, diving into the prospect profiles of Javonte Williams and Kenneth Gainwell. Williams and Gainwell are both juniors who have declared for the 2021 NFL Draft and are expected to be taken in the first four rounds. For fantasy football, both Javonte Williams and Kenneth Gainwell have a ton of upside, both potentially profiling as three down backs in the NFL. A rare Saturday edition of the Deep Dive Dynasty Podcast! Sorry that we're a couple days late, we actually had to re-record this episode because we messed up the audio the first time. Rashod Bateman and Rondale Moore are a pair of wide receivers who have declared into the 2021 NFL draft. They're both juniors out of the Big Ten Conference (Minnesota and Purdue, respectively) and are projected to be drafted somewhere in the first two days of the draft. Co-hosts Colin and Toby dive deep into their prospect profiles, comparing the two, predicting how high each will be drafted, and most importantly, what kind of an impact they will make for your Dynasty Fantasy Football teams. As always, we cap off the episode with our Dynasty Buy of the Week. Keep up with everything we do on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty, and tweet at us there with which pair of prospects we need to scout next week!
Our rookie spotlight series continues this week as we dive deep into the film and analytics behind the two college championship quarterbacks. Justin Fields and Mac Jones are both juniors at Ohio State and Alabama, respectively. Both are fully expected to declare for the 2021 NFL Draft and could very possibly both be first round picks. Listen in to hear us break down both of these prospects before getting into our Dynasty Buy of the Week! Tweet at us @DeepDiveDynasty and let us know which pair of rookies we should cover next week.
A couple of exciting 2021 rookie running back prospects are examined throughout this episode. Travis Etienne Jr. and Chuba Hubbard are both seniors who were expected to declare last year but instead decided to return for their senior college seasons and join the 2021 NFL draft this year. We'll look into how they've done statistically in their college careers, give our individual film breakdown of both players, discuss how we think they'll do at the NFL combine and compare how we think each of them will do in their NFL careers. Tweet at us @DeepDiveDynasty to let us know which pair of rookies we need to evaluate next.
We're finally at the end of 2020 as well as the 2020 fantasy football season. To commemorate, co-hosts Colin and Toby went through all of our previous episodes to find our hottest and coldest takes of the dynasty season. We then recount and recap every player highlighted on our Dynasty Buy of the Week segment, to crown the winner for the year. Make sure you follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty. This podcast has been an absolute highlight for us this year, thank you so much for your continued support. Happy New Year!
With the fantasy football season coming to a close this week, we wanted to look back at the rookie class of 2020. This is a full, 12 team, 4 round 2020 rookie redraft with Toby drafting from the 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 spots while Colin drafts from spot 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12. It's interesting to see how our rankings of players can change so drastically after just one season. Make sure you follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty! We'll post this entire draft board as well as our original one we did just after the NFL draft.
Some dynasty teams are battling it out for their fantasy football championships over the next two weeks, but for everyone else, now is the time to look beyond the 2020 season. This week, we're discussing players that are likely on many of your dynasty waiver wires but have opportunity in the future. Make sure you follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty! The players we discuss throughout this episode are: Tyron Johnson, Joe Reed, Freddie Swain, Anthony McFarland, Richard Rodgers, Nick Boyle, Colby Parkinson, Hunter Bryant, Albert Wilson, Jacob Eason, Kahale Warring, Riley Ridley, KJ Osborn, Chad Hansen, and Donovan Peoples-Jones. Some of these we talked about much more in depth than others but if you're out of the playoffs, check your waiver wires for any of these players that might be available and could be an upgrade over your current depth in terms of future upside! Specifically with Joe Reed, given what we saw on Thursday Night Football this week, (with him being healthy scratched) I would prioritize both Guyton and KJ Hill over him if you're looking to pick up a Chargers' Wide Receiver.
We went back out into the dynasty fantasy football community this week to gather some listener questions ahead of the week 14 playoffs. If you have any questions for us, tweet at us or send us a message on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty! One thing we wanted to clarify is that we discuss Gio Bernard as a possible option as a start this week, that would only be in the case that Joe Mixon is inactive. Thank you for all the questions and good luck in your fantasy playoffs!
This week, Toby and Colin each come forward with their choices of players who will be the most impacted by the upcoming 2021 NFL draft. Sorry about the background noise throughout this episode, we had an issue with the mic and will fix it for future episodes. Follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty! The players we discussed this episode are: - Denzel Mims - DeVante Parker - Aaron Rodgers - James Robinson - Brandin Cooks - Miles Sanders
We wanted to play a little Thanksgiving game this episode, asking each other to choose between different dynasty players in different scenarios. Marvin Jones Jr. vs Brandin Cooks, Devin Singletary vs Nelson Agholor, Alvin Kamara vs Derrick Henry, Nick Chubb vs Josh Jacobs, Michael Pittman Jr. vs Henry Ruggs III, and KJ Hamler vs Darnell Mooney are all discussed throughout the show. Who would you rather have in dynasty? Make sure to follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty
The Quarterback position is the focus this week as we revisit our top 24 dynasty quarterbacks by comparing our individually created rankings. Differences emerge such as: Is Josh Allen a top 5 Superflex Quarterback? and Should Derek Carr be ranked as a top 15 Quarterback? Make sure you follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty
Tight Ends are our focus this week. We revisited our dynasty Tight End Rankings separately before comparing our individual rankings live on the show. We each rank our top 24 tight ends but due to our differences, discuss over 30 of the NFL's top tight ends. Make sure to follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty! You can message us directly there to get advice on whatever you need to improve your dynasty fantasy football teams. Also, leave us a review on apple podcasts and we'll make sure to shout you out on next week's episode.
This week, we reached out to the dynasty fantasy football community on reddit (reddit.com/DynastyFF) asking members of the community to send us their recently completed trades so that we could weigh in and take sides on who won each trade. If you have any trades you ever want us to evaluate, message us on twitter @DeepDiveDynasty!
Buy low trade targets are discussed yet again this episode as we approach fantasy football trade deadlines. These players are specifically beneficial for teams who are not contending this year but are looking to turn their teams around in the coming years. Make sure you follow us on Twitter @DeepDiveDynasty to never miss an episode! Next week, we'll be breaking down trades from the community so make sure you tweet or message us with recent trades you've completed and we'll let you know what we think. The buy low trade targets we discuss this episode are: - A variety of injured players (Barkley, Prescott, etc.) - Cam Akers - Sam Darnold - Quintez Cephus - Michael Gallup - Irv Smith - Adam Trautman
