In the latest episode of "2 Giant Goofballs: A New York Giants Podcast," Robs dive into the recent moves made by the New York Giants to address their depleted quarterback depth. With Daniel Jones out for the season due to a torn ACL and Tyrod Taylor on injured reserve for an extended period, the Giants have taken action to strengthen their quarterback ranks. The duo discusses the signing of journeyman Jacob Eason to the practice squad, exploring his background and the context behind this move.Currently, the Giants rely on undrafted free agent Tommy DeVito as their sole quarterback on the 53-man roster. Drew and Rob analyze DeVito's recent performances in the past two games, where he completed 63.0% of his passes, accumulating 163 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Additionally, they touch on the signing of veteran Matt Barkley to the practice squad in response to Taylor's injury. The host provides insights into Jacob Eason's NFL journey, highlighting his previous tryout with the Giants during mini-camp in June and his limited appearances with the Indianapolis Colts and the Carolina Panthers. Eason's career statistics, completing 5 of 10 passes for 84 yards with an interception, are examined. The uncertainty surrounding Tyrod Taylor's return from injured reserve has prompted the Giants to explore options to reinforce their quarterback depth, with Eason being the latest addition.Shifting gears, the episode also covers the Giants' acquisition of running back Hassan Hall, who joins the practice squad. Hall's journey through multiple NFL teams, including the Cleveland Browns and the Arizona Cardinals, is discussed. The host takes a closer look at Hall's attributes, including his quickness, agility, and explosiveness showcased during his Pro Day.Hall's college football journey, starting at Louisville and later transferring to Georgia Tech, is outlined. Despite not having an extensive workload at either school, Hall's consistent performance is noted, with 1,820 yards on 386 carries, an average of 4.7 yards per carry, and a total of 12 touchdowns. His versatility as a receiver and significant experience as a kick returner make him a valuable addition to the practice squad. In addition to these roster moves, Rob previews and provides their predictions for the upcoming NFL Week 10 matchups, offering insights and analysis for each game, including point spreads and over/under predictions. With dropped passes and penalties being an issue throughout the team, the Seahawks got out to a slow start and didn't recover until the final minutes of the game. Special teams was a liability at multiple points in the game. In the second half, Jacob Eason led the team to one touchdown and had the second one called back, but at least it led to some entertainment that we hadn't gotten for the first 55 minutes of the game. 2022 Podcast Pick'em League Support the show Get in the Flock! After losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, the Seahawks were left with a short week to prepare for the Chicago Bears. Thursday's matchup was supposed to feature Drew Lock with the first-team offense, but shortly following that announcement was another announcement that the former Broncos QB would have to sit out. Will this change how the Seahawks approach who ultimately starts for the team in Week 1? We look back to the Steelers game at some of the positive and negative takeaways from the first outing of the season. The rookie cornerbacks could not stop a Steelers rookie receiver and one of the two found himself on his back on one play in the first quarter. Seattle's offensive and defensive lines showed promise throughout the game. Unfortunately, the defense was difficult to evaluate as a whole because of all the missed tackles. We discuss why that's the least concerning of the issues we saw on defense. With Thursday's matchup against the Chicago Bears, what are some of the key things to watch? Geno Smith will now get the start and we'll likely get to see Jacob Eason get some extended time on the field. Can the corners bounce back after that rough outing? There's one player in particular we hope to see with snaps against the Bears first-team offense after a nice debut. In the second half of the show, we discuss our anniversary of the show. We also talk about which NFC West team seems to be the most excited after the first week of preseason action. We call on the NFL Network and a local police department to do better. Better at life nods go out to Montana fire fighters and to a group of people who picked up some slack in recent days. 2022 Podcast Pick'em League Support the show Get in the Flock! Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks NFL Pick Prediction 8/18/2022 by Tony T. Bears at Seahawks—Seattle will be without Drew Locke with a positive COVID test. This is a short week for both teams as they played on Saturday. Bears will be play starters 6-10 snaps. Geno Smith will get the start and is backed up by Jacob Eason. The backup was drafted in 2020 and has thrown five career passes in the NFL. Behind Justin Fields for Chicago is Trevor Siemian and Nathan Peterman. Quarterback battle is getting a lot of attention.

After trading away Russell Wilson to Denver, the Seahawks have yet to announce his replacement. Seattle currently has Drew Lock, Geno Smith, Jacob Eason, and Levi Wallace in their QB room. The main two guys in the mix for the starting Quarterback job are Drew Lock and Geno Smith, which one will be the starting QB for the Seattle Seahawks this upcoming NFL season? The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Mitchell Trubisky on day 1 of NFL Free Agency and a few months later drafted rookie QB Kenny Pickett in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Trubisky brings veteran experience to the Steelers Quarterback room while Pickett stays in the local Pittsburgh area after playing his college ball at Pitt which shares the same facilities as the Steelers. JT Sports gives his thoughts on who he believes will be the starting QB for the Steelers this season. The Houston Texans hired Lovie Smith to become their next Head Coach in a surprising move after parting ways with David Culley after a 4-13 season. Lovie Smith has decades' worth of NFL Head Coaching experience and was Houstons DC last year, however, he hasn't had success in his last few head coaching stops following his tenure with the Bears. JT Sports gives his first-year expectations for Lovie Smith and the Houston Texans. Matt Eberflus was hired as the new Head Coach for the Chicago Bears after four seasons as DC for the Colts. Eberflus has been regarded as one of the best defensive minds in the NFL but will have his work cut out for him taking over a Bears team that is one of the worse teams going into the upcoming NFL season. On today's special weekend episode, Evan is joined by Stampede Blue's Stephen Reed to recap the Indianapolis Colts' draft rounds 2-7. After starting with a bang drafting Kwity Paye at No. 21 overall, Indy doubled-down on defensive linemen at No. 54 with Vanderbilt's Dayo Odeyingbo. Even with a torn Achilles in the pre-draft process, the Colts coveted Odeyingbo with a first-round grade.Entering into Day 3, the Colts began with drafting SMU tight end Kylen Granson at No. 127. Granson is the highest drafted tight end for Indy since 2012 (Dwayne Allen + Coby Fleener). A great fit within the Frank Reich offense, Granson is a more athletic version of Trey Burton.
