This episode continues to cover skill position prospects in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. Emory Hunt joins Will Brinson to focus on the running backs in this year's class. 2 UNC RBs land inside the Top 10, but Emory ranks 1 much higher and 1 much lower than the consensus. Trey Sermon balled out on a big stage at Ohio State, but will his game translate to the next level? Jermar Jefferson, Khalil Herbert and Pooka Williams are names to keep an eye on as well. Then, we get to the #3 slot which features Travis Etienne, who some have as the top back in 2021. The Alabama product, Najee Harris, leads the way, but Emory still says not to count on a RB being selected in the 1st round. (03:29): We have a follow up discussion about the Gregg Marshall situation at Wichita State University. It was a huge rushing attack by the Chiefs that led them to the victory. Blake and Tommy discuss the success of the run game, the offensive line and more, plus what the signing of Le'Veon Bell means to the Chiefs moving forward. (54:52): The Sunflower Showdown is this Saturday and while there is virtually no chance that the University of Kansas wins the game against Kansas State, that's not KU's biggest problem. Pooka Williams opted out of the season and leaves the Jayhawks. Williams was absolutely KU's most talented and productive player. Kansas State by 40+ on Saturday. Let's dive right in on this first day of October with a brand new episode of Keeper of the Games! We're the Wildly Underqualified, Yet Mildly Entertaining Sports Podcast for Wichita & Beyond! Here we go! (03:24): Despite being 3 point underdogs (insane), the Kansas City Chiefs showed they were the dominant team in Monday Night Football beating the Baltimore Ravens 34-20 on Monday night. Weston and Tommy break down the game, discuss if the Ravens should be considered a rival of the Chiefs and if Lamar Jackson is anywhere close to the level of Patrick Mahomes. The guys also give some credit to the KC linebackers, the playcalling of Andy Reid and Eric Bienenemy and look ahead to the Week 4 matchup on Sunday when Cam Newton and the Patriots come to Arrowhead. (38:47): What a game for the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday, shocking the college football world by stunning the #3 Oklahoma Sooners with a come from behind 38-35 win in Norman. What does this mean for the Wildcats moving forward...should K-State be respected more on a national level now? The guys discuss. (47:33): Not nearly as positive of a result from the Kansas Jayhawks as they were blown out by the Baylor Bears in Waco by a score of 47-14. Outside of two Pooka Williams scores, the rest of the game was a trainwreck for KU. Weston and Tommy discuss the strategy (or lack thereof) of having Jalon Daniels play QB and what might happen moving forward at QB for KU. Also, they wonder if all hope is lost this season for the Jayhawks. (56:55) Last week, Alex Gordon announced his retirement from the Royals and baseball. Where does he rank in all time Royals? Matt Tait, Benton Smith and Shane Jackson break down the KU football season opener through the lens of KU's QB play, touches for Pooka Williams and 2-point conversions. The KUsports.com crew also discusses where the Jayhawks go from here and whether there's any reason for KU fans to still be optimistic in 2020.
Pooka Williams hardly needs an introduction to Jayhawk fans. The talented and electrifying running back has already established himself as one of the best in Kansas history, becoming just the second to ever rush for more than 2,000 yards in his first two seasons. And in his eyes, he's just getting started. Originally from New Orleans, Pooka excelled as a four-star prospect who led his high school to the state championship game as a senior. He had his pick of major college football programs. So why Kansas? Pooka has repaid KU's faith in him on the field, while continuing to make strides off it. And as he enters his junior season, he's made his intent clear: He wants to help the Jayhawks build a winning program under Les Miles.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Just as we were about to record, there was a knock on the door. Whomever could it be?!? We weren't expecting anyone. We answered the door and saw none other than Steve Rannazzisi standing there! We greeted him and asked how he was doing. After a little small talk, he asked if he could come in. We informed him we were about to podcast. It was then that he uttered "Pooka Williams", which just so happens to be the password required to gain admittance into the podcast. We discuss all sorts of interesting topics with Steve, and a good time is had by all. This one will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and out.
The Texas Longhorns were far from sharp on Saturday against the Kansas Jayhawks, needing a last-second field goal to come away with a win. The defense, for the second time this year, turned in an all-time worst performance in a single game, thanks to the Jayhawks taking advantage of a banged up secondary. On the ground, Pooka Williams did what he does, bringing in 190 rushing yards, helping set up the Jayhawks in better position for later downs. Connect with the show on Twitter and Facebook.
