This is the last time these fantasy football running back rankings change before Week 1.Kendall Valenzuela and Peter Overzet go through Fantasy Life's final preseason running back rankings, all 48 of them, and stop on the names where the room genuinely disagrees. Every tier comes with the full consensus list plus each player's highest and lowest rank across the staff, so you can see exactly where the confidence is and where it isn't.The top twelve opens with the debate that decides the 1.01, and whether it actually matters as much as everyone thinks. Then the widest disagreement on the entire board — one back the staff has anywhere from RB4 to RB12, an eight-spot spread on a player people are taking in the second round. And a confidence check on the back who's settled in at RB11 after an injury scare: would you really be comfortable if he were the only running back you took in the first three rounds?The RB2 range brings a rookie coming off a high ankle sprain, a veteran the guys may have ranked too low given the situation ahead of him, and another enormous spread — a starting back the staff has between RB19 and RB27.The back half is where drafts are actually won. The Saints are everyone's preseason darlings and there's real reason for it — Travis Etienne, Jordan Tyson, a functional offensive line, and Tyler Shuck's legs. The concern is Cam Jordan is gone and that defense doesn't always travel. DJ bets Jordan Tyson over 750 receiving yards. Kelcey is on Tyler Shuck over 350 rushing yards. The Falcons are the most interesting team in the division on paper. Kyle Pitts' touchdown total has gone up in every single one of his five seasons — literally 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Drake London put up 119 yards per game with Penix and is looking at 1,100+ with consistency. Kevin Stefanski made David Njoku a Pro Bowler. The only question is which left-handed quarterback is out there and for how long. Then there's Kelcey's hottest take of the episode: Baker Mayfield is a top 10 quarterback. He is better than Brock Purdy. The math is simple, and Kelcey will not be taking questions. The Bucs' receiver room without Mike Evans is arguably better — Egbuka as WR1, Godwin, McMillan. The Saints have released their first depth chart of training camp, giving us plenty to discuss. Mario Jerez and Erin Summers break down the biggest takeaways, including Alvin Kamara and Travis Etienne being listed as “OR” at running back, Chase Young appearing with an “OR,” Vernon Broughton listed as a starter, and why you probably shouldn't put too much stock into the wide receiver order just yet. While the depth chart is out, the biggest story at camp continues to be the disparity between the Saints' offense and defense. The defense has consistently made plays while the offense has struggled to find its rhythm, particularly when it comes to the timing between Tyler Shough and his receivers. Mario and Erin discuss whether that should be a concern heading into the preseason opener, while also highlighting some of the offensive players who have stood out. On the defensive side, Martin Emerson Jr. continues to make an impression. Emerson had a huge day in padded practice Tuesday, recording two pass breakups and an interception to end a two-minute drill. Mario takes a closer look at Emerson's track record with the Cleveland Browns, where he started 33 games from 2022–2024 and became a key part of one of the NFL's best defenses. Then it's time to look ahead to Week 1. The Saints are currently +6.5 underdogs against the Detroit Lions, with a +265 moneyline, and Mario and Erin discuss whether that line is giving Detroit too much respect — especially with the Lions dealing with several significant injuries. Cade Mays is expected to miss 8–10 weeks, while backup center Juice Scruggs is also dealing with an injury.
