"Yes, I am a Christian." Is the answer to the question often asked of someone who speaks of God being in their life. But when one does state, 'I have God in my life.' are they in fact speaking of following Christ in the manner the scriptures teach? And how can the one proclaiming that God is in their life, or that they are a Christian be eternally certain their claim is in fact true? After all, at the time of the great and terrible White Throne Judgment we read in Matthew 7 of the multitude of lost souls claiming to have been working in the name of Christ and the soul-wrenching reply they receive from their judge, the Lord Jesus. 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven..., 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ How can such a thing happen? How do such souls end up being so wrong, so condemned? May it be suggested they failed to heed or understand the scriptures? And we who are believers are commanded to know and teach the word of God (Deut. 6:4-7) And in our claim of having God in our life, of being a Christian, a disciple, a believer, and yes, even a follower of Christ, do we also take into account a particular position we also hold found in 1 Peter 2:9? But you are... a royal priesthood... that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. We stand as those who direct others to God. We are here to proclaim the excellencies of him who called us out of darkness. Think of that, we are to be God's proclaimers to a world lost in sin; but we must do so with the truth, and in truth. And Pastor Tim Bresnahan in this sermon expounds on the absolute necessity of understanding God's truth, taking hold of it for ourselves and proclaiming it to those not only closest to us, but to those who enter our lives as well. We must take hold of 'The Real Thing', and become those who stand as one from a royal priesthood rightly proclaiming God to a world of lost souls. And by doing so, at the time of the great and terrible judgment, we and our hearers rather than being told by Christ “Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.' (Matthew 25:41)we instead will hear the glad words from Matthew 25:21 ‘'Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your master.'

Hectic. For many, this five letter word perfectly describes their life. And because hectic defines their daily living, inevitably they find all areas of their life, relationships, work, marriage, family weakening, as well as their own spiritual and emotional health. And what each of us needs to understand is this; Everyone of us is influential. Every person, no matter their position in life, from the high and mighty to the most humble among us set an example for those know. It could come by way of word or deed or simply in how we live our lives before the eyes of others, but an example, be it negative or positive is seen and can influence. And when life is overloaded, when life is spell, TOO BUSY, then that is what we are teaching, exampling. And ultimately, the lesson from the hectic life becomes, life's priorities can be shaved, can be compromised. Oh, one can say, the time is simply not there to give to that which is truly important, that the lack of time robs us of the seriousness and effort we know is required and needed., this includes first and foremost our relationship and walk with Christ. So in the end, we can lay blame on the hectic pace of modern life for the how things are not as they should be, or we can seek change. And in this sermon taken from passages within John 21, 1 Peter 5 & Matthew 11, Pastor Tim Bresnahan examines the hectic life through Christ and the Apostles and offers answers to it's struggles and to what ultimately can or will be lost, or even abandoned if the hectic person continues to run in life's exhaustive manner and direction.

As Christians, we should be seeking to know Christ in the greatest possible way. It should be an undertaking with the aim of leading us towards a personal Christ-likeness. For as we seek to grow in Christ-likeness, the more we will desire to be like him. We will hold a greater love for him and that in turn will bring about our desire to love and serve others as he did. But, but in becoming more Christ-like, we first need it to be exampled before us. And here's the thing; the ones charged most with the task of seeking to help us in this are the leaders within our local church. They are tasked by command of scripture to be our example, so they, as Paul the Apostle could say, might come to say, 'Follow me, as I follow Christ.' And in this first sermon in a new series on church leadership, not only will we begin to understand how a local church is to biblically form godly leadership, but to grasp and understand the responsibilities, not the suggestions, not the suggestions, but the responsibilities laid out in scripture for those who are placed in the office of elder or deacon within your church. And Pastor Tim Bresnahan will begin these teaching in a sermon taken from both Ezekiel 34:1-16 & Mark 6:30-44.

One of the difficulties, a problem in the church today is the lone wolf Christian. The one who isolates themselves from the fellowship offered by being a member of a local church. For choosing such a way of life the lone wolf state such things as past hurts done to them by other Christians, or they rather just listen to sermons on radio, or watch a church service on TV, forgetting completely the commandment found in Hebrews 10:24-25 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] , ‘And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another…’ So in this sermon by Pastor Tim Bresnahan taken from both Genesis 4 & Acts 2 (with a nod to John 17:20-22 [Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)] )we explore the damage we cause ourselves, our walk with Christ, and the blessings lost by us and others by holding onto past hurts or wrong understandings in choosing the life of the lone wolf Christian over the sometimes imperfect joys of Christian fellowship.

Go and make disciples." These four words, spoken by our Lord in Matthew 28 so simple to pass over, but these words are possibly the most profound for the believer; for it is a command and no less authoritative than any found within the Ten Commandments. So the question becomes, are we in our lives attempting to follow this command? After all, someone who did, be it our parents, a sibling, relative, friend, neighbor, preacher or stranger stand responsible for each and everyone of us to now be found in Christ. But few of us are pastors or theology teachers and yet in the day to day of our lives this command stands. So here is the next question. How do we remain faithful to the expectation of the Lord to follow this command of his? Well in this sermon by Pastor Tim Bresnahan, he takes us along a road that begins with the Apostle Paul's conversation to the last words of our Lord before his Ascension. We learn how we in our daily lives in fact can become disciple makers. And after all, let us all remember the glorious truth that salvation in Christ is forever and ever, and by the effort of a faithful servant we found God meeting us where we were. But as we give thanks for our eternal salvation let us also not forget that Hell is also forever. And there are those in our lives living under God's righteous judgment even now who desperately need a faithful servant to live out the Lord's four words for them, and before them.

Do we strive in our lives to actually be a servant, a disciples of Christ? Which is a question that naturally brings up the questions of: what exactly is a servant or disciple of Christ’s, and once understood, do I desire to be his disciple? After all, just before he returned to heaven, our Lord did say, ‘Go and make disciples.’ So based on that, it would seem to be of some importance to the Lord that we become disciples, as well as seeking to help others become one as well. And beyond this direct command there is also the familiar urging to each of us of seeking to be like Christ; and Paul the Apostle did say, follow me as I follow Christ, and that he was Christ’s bond-servant. So in this sermon, Pastor Tim Bresnahan brings us into both of these questions And he begins doing so with Philippians 2:4-11. And once we explore this wondrous passage of scripture we move forth onto others. And at the end of the sermon we find the pair of questions asked here, what is a servant, a disciple of Christ’s, and do I truly desire to be one will be faced and decided upon by each of us.

One of the hardest subjects for any church leader to discuss with members is the need of giving. And yet, it is a necessary function of leadership to make those of the church aware of needs and how their tithes and offerings are used to further the Gospel and not simply collected to internalize, to among other things, keep the lights on and the building warm in winter and cool in summer. And in this sermon on explaining giving, Pastor Tim Bresnahan speaks and teaches on how we as believers are conduits of Christ and his love to both Christians and others and how we are called to be stewards of God's blessings in our lives. For God is not pleased if our giving comes from a sense of guilt or out of compulsion. No, what He instead desires is the one who is a cheerful giver, one whose motivation comes purely from the love they hold for Him and from the desire to see the Gospel go forth in the effort of reaching others, for wanting to snatch others from an eternal judgement and to come to know the love of God and the salvation He offers through the Lord Jesus.

He then goes on through Matthew 7: 3-5 to reveal the proper God-pleasing attitude and action we all should take hold of, live by, and show to others.

There are times in life when we all should be able to accept constructive criticism, or even offer it. But that is far different from being judgmental or critical of another person. One is done from concern, and in love, while the other comes from an attitude of superiority. And a routine complaint placed against Christians today, deserved or not, is of having a critical, judgmental attitude of others, and not just those outside our church, but even within it. This attitude should never be found within the heart of a Christian. So in this portion of the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 7, Pastor Tim Bresnahan exposes the dangers of having a hyper-critical spirit and it's effect not only on those such an attitude is shown to, but upon the life and heart of one who does carry such an attitude within themself.

Are there things in this life that holds such an appeal that we place them over having a relationship with God? Do we make the temporal of this life king over us rather than seeking Christ for all eternity? Jesus said, we cannot serve both God and money, as we will love one and hate the other. It is a struggle for many to give up the temporal for the eternal. And in this sermon by Pastor Tim Bresnahan, we learn how Christ does ask us to choose him, to choose forgiveness over judgment, to take hold of eternal life over those things which in the end will not matter and will see no benefit but only sure judgment awaiting them once this life does passes into the eternal.

Do you believe God cares about every aspect of your life? He not only cares, but he wants a deep relationship with us. Prayer is central to this relationship, but so is living in humbleness before God. And in this sermon by Pastor Tim Bresnahan, we come to understand that this temporal life and all that it encompasses is not the great and final prize for us, but our focus should instead be on God; for He, for the one who will seek him out with all their heart becomes the great eternal prize. For as scripture says, 'But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him" (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Christian, what do you rely on to get your through the day? If it's not God, you need to reassess. Are you hungering for God's daily? Does your faith have you in prayer before God each and every day seeking His provision for what on that day is needed in your life? Are you in confession before him, are you seeking His forgiveness, and beyond this, are you seeking His help in having you act towards others as He himself acts towards you? Well in this sermon from Pastor Tim Bresnahan, he, much like a sherpa, guides us through Matthew 6:11-13, part of the Lord's Prayer, and shows us what our daily hunger, our daily desire should be, and the reasons why we should be desperate for seeking God daily and the full and complete provision of our daily bread.

As Christians, knowing that Christ reins now in Heaven, and will rein as king on Earth in the future, we are until that glorious day to reflect God to the world, and in doing so, we point others to Christ for the salvation of their souls. But are we pointing others to Christ? Are letting those we know and love understand that a day is coming when we all, saved and unsaved will see Christ rein, that his kingdom will indeed be established, and an accounting of our lives will take place? And woe to those who are not found in the Book of Life! So here are the questions, Do you as a Christian truly desire that 'May your kingdom come'? And are you reflecting God to the world, to those around you? For while the believer will forever, for all eternity enjoy eternal life in the presence of God, the hellish eternity for the unforgiven last just as long, a fate no Christian desires to see befall others. And in this sermon from Matthew 6:10, Pastor Tim Bresnahan encourages us, directs us towards living the life that reflects God to the world, and in so doing, we as believers indeed can excitedly, and gladly utter the words, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it done in Heaven."
