If you use the N2 at the uMngeni Interchange, you'll want to plan ahead. SANRAL has confirmed that construction work will run from 12 March until 15 April 2026, with temporary lane closures and disruptions expected around the interchange. Crews will be replacing bridge parapets and median barriers on the uMngeni Bridge, which means sequential lane closures on key routes including the northbound N2 off-ramp, the southbound on-ramp from Inanda Road, and sections of the fast lanes in both directions. Traffic will still move through the area, but lanes will be narrower and delays are expected. Motorists are being urged to allow extra travel time, follow signage, and stick to reduced speed limits while travelling through the construction zone. Webpage
