High school student Puleng Khumalo hates the fact that her parents still celebrate the birthday of her elder sister Phumelo like a memorial to the girl, even after almost seventeen years that she has been missing. The Khumalo family, especially the parents, Thandeka and Julius, are still unable to move on from the dreadful past, in which their first-born child, Phumelo, or Phume as they call her lovingly, was stolen and abducted from the hospital within a day of her birth. A primary investigation into the matter had thrown the father, Julius, under suspicion, for the police believed he had sold off his daughter to a human trafficking ring. Shortly after Phume's seventeenth birthday, or memorial, Puleng's best friend Zama takes her to a party hosted by the rich kids of the city, and it is here that she sees Fikile Bhele for the first time. Zama jokingly mentions how Puleng and Fikile have similarities in their appearances, but Puleng gradually starts to question whether that is actually possible. To pursue this new, growing question in her mind, she convinces her mother to get her admitted to the prestigious Parkhurst College high school, the same one that Fikile attends. Puleng's request is also helped by the fact that her father was recently arrested from the school premises in a rather public manner after the case had been reopened, and Thandeka agrees. Soon, Puleng starts to attend her new school and makes acquaintance with Wade, KB, Chris, Reece, Wendy, and, of course, Fikile, all of whom become important characters in her quest to find her missing sister. What she is not aware of is the fact that the answers to her question are rooted in a grand scheme of a conspiracy plotted by seriously powerful people many years ago and that there would be numerous attempts to stop her from reaching the truth. The first and foremost reason to watch “Blood & Water” season 3 is to get a grip on the whole story of Phumele, or Fikile's kidnapping as a baby, and the exact identity of the human trafficking gang involved with it. The true identity of Lisbeth is also something to look forward to, as she herself might be somehow related to the Bheles, or specifically Nwabisa. At the very end of season 2, Lisbeth suggests that she had cleared up Nwabisa's mess earlier too, meaning that the two have a history going way back into the past. In both of the existing seasons, Matla has been portrayed in a slightly negative light, but the exact extent of his involvement in the whole matter remains to be seen. After all, he promises his son KB that he will sit down and explain everything to him once he helps the Bheles get out of prison. The history between the Khumalo parents also needs to be discussed, for we still do not know with whom Thandeka had an affair and, therefore, who the biological father of Fikile was. Along with all this, the usual drama and romance of high school life will also go on, as Puleng still has trouble choosing between Wade and KB as her boyfriend. After having been duped by the swimming coach, Fikile finds love in Sam, but the boy also goes missing by the end of season 2, as he has been placed under the police's witness protection. , “Blood & Water,” season 3 has raised the bar of action some more in this new iteration. The old characters return with more shades, and Lisbeth will now takes on a prominent role as she returns to KB and Matla's house. On the other hand, Nwabisa Bhele still remains missing after she was taken to the boat, and she is suspected of having been kidnapped by the same human trafficking ring. Overall, it is interesting getting to know more about the characters, storyline makes one hope season 4 if there will be one comes alot fast.. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Unitarian Universalism, with its nearly 2,000-year history, is rooted in a few key ideas. Our forebears were united in rejection of any one way of thinking; they were united in agreement on love. From the second-century philosopher Origen, who said that "God loves everyone, to 16th-century Ferenc David, who said "We don't have to think alike to love alike," to 21st-century Thandeka, who urges, "Hear your commission to love, to create community, and to heal," our great-hearted teachers have led with love. This is the history we hold today.

In today's podcast episode we sit down and chat with Thandeka Sibanyoni, who is originally from Carolina, South Africa. Thandeka started her property investment journey during the pandemic - she listened to the Property Magicians Podcast and then started following some of the guests and started implementing what they were teaching. She started looking for properties where she lived and focused on the location of the property, cash flow and affordability. When she went to the bank, she learned that she could qualify for a property worth R700,000 (US$46,023) so she focused on properties priced below. She found a property valued at R600,000 (US$39,448) and converted that property into a multi-let, with 4 bachelor units. She got 100% funding for that and later found out from the bank that the property was actually worth R800,000, so she actually made R200,000 (US$13,149) when she bought the property. A few months later, she went to Johannesburg, learned about the AirBnB strategy and started implementing that strategy - she rented a flat, furnished it and put it up on Airbnb and started cash flowing from day 1. In this podcast, Thandeka shares with us how she was able to start on her real estate journey during a pandemic and keep growing her portfolio. We hope you enjoy the podcast as much as we did. #plugintodevin Show - Devin Thorpe for Congress Guest: Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe Issue: Currently I would guess the spread and impact of Covid19 infections and the impact on our lives and the devastating impact on our economy and all that flows from that. Also what will life be like post our country lockdown. Mainly just socially and the curtailment of ones ability to move around at will and as we know it. We can still go to the shops and put food on the table which is not the case for many people in our poorer communities. However as the schools are closed countrywide we cannot continue to do our work of handing out Tutudesks from the Desmond Tutu Tutudesk Campaign to learners at schools where they are needed so badly. A lot will need to be done to uplift and protect our poorer communities and the homeless. It cannot be just trying to get back to business as usual. This virus has highlighted what an unequal society South Africa is. There have had to be donations of food parcels but also some rioting and looting of grocery stores and supermarkets in some areas. I think there will be a greater need for the services of organizations such as ourselves the Tutudesk Campaign. Bio: Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe is the CEO of the Desmond Tutu Tutudesk Campaign Centre (DTTCC). It addresses the 95 million desk shortage in sub-Saharan Africa, by aiming to provide 20 million of these environmentally friendly, portable Tutudesks by 2025. Thus positively enhancing the lives of African children, their communities and countries and making Africa a more globally competitive continent through improved literacy and education. Ms Tutu-Gxashe has been educated and worked in the UK, Swaziland, Botswana and the USA. She is passionate about education and public health, especially the fight against HIV/AIDS, and improving the health and education experiences of young people, thus promoting global peace and justice. She received several fellowships whilst completing her MPH at Emory University, Atlanta, These included from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), American Cancer Society, the Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry, the South East AIDS Training Center & the Dekalb County Board of Health. Much of her working life has been in clinical research both in the USA and in South Africa. She undertakes public speaking at universities, schools and community groups both locally & internationally. Thandeka has served on the Boards of several foundations and non-profit organizations. She is currently on the Board of the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation, HPSA (formerly Heifer International (South Africa)) and the Foundation for Sport, Development and Peace. The sermon was delivered on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister, at the Humanist Service. DESCRIPTION At the heart of American democracy is... (wait for it...) “heart!” One of America’s foremost 21st century liberal theologians, Dr. Rev. Thandeka, teaches that when liberal religion displaces emotion from the moral equation, a contradiction of moral reasoning diminishes the impact of the liberal voice in American public life. Mainstream churches and liberal politicians will continue to lose ground unless this contradiction is reconciled. The most well-reasoned, documented and articulated facts, figures and solutions will continue to fail to move people to change.
