In this episode I give detail into my philosophy behind frying cabbage. My preference is to use either a wok or a cast-iron skillet. Are use a little oil along with some onions and garlic and sometimes bell peppers. However, the key to all of this is to not add water because the cooking process draws the water out of the cabbage itself in order to help it cook. One of the most incredible purchases I have made was to invest in an air fryer. I decided to give Kroger‘s plant-based Bolognese sauce a try. For this, I cooked two beyond burgers and two hot Italian beyond sausage links along with two jars of the Bolognese sauce. I chose rigatoni for my noodles and simply brought everything together in the end. This was simple to make and easy to enjoy!
Yesterday I prepared a delicious brunch. I had homemade biscuits topped with a vegan sausage gravy. This dish was absolutely phenomenal. In all honesty, these were the best biscuits I have ever had in life! In addition, the gravy was the perfect complement to set this branch off properly!

Taking a second to wrap up the previous post where I talked about meat taste in the way it does because of the seasonings, which are mainly plants. Mini vegan and plant-based dishes such as fried cauliflower, fried oyster mushrooms, and even tuna salad made with chickpeas give the illusion that one is eating meat mainly because of the seasonings that are used in these dishes.
Consider when people say something tastes like chicken, especially those who cook vegan or plant-based meals and may fry oysters or jack fruit or some other item, then say it taste like chicken, are they talking about the meat or the seasonings they you use?
In this episode I begin the process of dispelling the myth that vegan automatically equates to healthy. There are so many things you can eat that qualify as being vegan but are not doing your body any good, especially if you're trying to lose weight or trying to reduce your sugar intake or dealing with health issues such as high cholesterol, diabetes or high blood pressure. Be wise about what you put on your fork and just because it has that vegan label on it doesn't mean it's healthy.
