The Cavs kept everyone up late again, but it was worth it after another overtime WIN! The show also welcomed special guest Mackenzie, who'll be filling in for Alyssa next week. We somehow ended up back in another beard debate, shared some Good Vibes, and talked about whether someone deserves a second date if there's no chemistry the first time around. In Hash It Out, Kristen accused her husband of hiding the fact that he's been working out with their divorced neighbor. Alyssa's College of Knowledge returned, along with another round of “I Know It's Happening, but I Don't Want To Know.” Plus, we asked the question: what would YOU do if you found $30,000 in cash?

Because the producer of Ginger put Sulfur Dioxide inside of the Ginger. Ginger is a common medicine for health care. However, polysaccharides, vitamins, and water inside ginger are suitable for microbial reproduction and are prone to mold. To prevent ginger from becoming moldy and maintain its bright color, it is common to fumigate ginger with sulfur. This process can easily lead to excessive sulfur dioxide, which is seriously harmful to the human body. The residual sulfur dioxide in herbal medicine can not only cause bad taste, but can also cause respiratory symptoms such as coughing, chest tightness, and throat irritation. At the same time, residual sulfur dioxide within ginger may react chemically with other ingredients, changing the composition or content of the effective ingredients, thereby affecting the quality of ginger. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct quality testing on ginger to determine whether it is sulfur-fumigated. Buy Organic: Certified organic ginger is prohibited from being treated with synthetic sulfur dioxide. Buy Local or "Living Ginger": Look for ginger at farmers' markets or in stores that sell "living ginger" (with green shoots still attached). It's less likely to have been treated for long-distance shipping.I tried to buy organic Ginger in Krabi/Thailand and even the organic Ginger was sulfur-fumigated…After I checked all the markets, there was only one old woman who sold organic Ginger. On the internet I could not buy organic Ginger and normally I can buy online nearly every vegetable. How to identify organic Ginger…The sulfur-fumigated Ginger has a strong and shinny peel, you can only remove the peel with a knife and this Ginger is white inside. The organic Ginger has a very thin peel similar to New Potatoes that goes off by itself, or just rub the peel off. And this Ginger is inside yellowish…Grow Your Own Ginger is surprisingly easy to grow in a pot from an organic rhizome. Peeling and Soaking: If you must use conventional ginger, peel it thoroughly and soak it in warm water for 15-30 minutes. This can help reduce surface-level residues. With which vegetables can you substitute Ginger? These vegetable provide a pungent, warming quality similar to ginger. Galangal: The closest relative. It's a bit sharper, more citrusy and piney. Essential in Thai and Southeast Asian cuisine. Use it as a 1:1 substitute. Turmeric (Fresh): Provides earthiness and a warm, peppery flavor. It won't be as sharp, but it gives a beautiful yellow color and is a powerful anti-inflammatory. Use about 1.5 times the amount of ginger. Horseradish (Freshly Grated): Delivers a powerful, sharp, sinus-clearing heat. It's best in sauces, dressings, or with roasted meats. Start with half the amount of ginger. Daikon Radish: When cooked, it becomes mild and slightly sweet, but when raw, it has a sharp, peppery bite that can mimic ginger in salads or pickles. For Medicinal & Tea Purposes (Anti-inflammatory, Digestive Aid):These are your best bets for replicating ginger's health benefits. Turmeric (+ Black Pepper): The #1 alternative. Curcumin in turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory. Crucially, always combine with a pinch of black pepper, which increases curcumin absorption by 2000%. Galangal: Also used extensively in traditional medicine for digestion and inflammation. It's a very close functional substitute. Meadowsweet Herb: Excellent for soothing digestive issues and stomach aches, much like ginger. Brew as a tea. Angelica Root: Used in traditional medicine for bloating, cramping, and loss of appetite. Has a warm, slightly bitter flavor. Quick Guide: Which Alternative to use alternatives to ginger when you cook?If the Recipe/Use Is... Best Substitute WhyThai Curry or Soup Galangal Authentic, similar texture and flavor profile.Stir-fry, Golden Milk, Smoothies Fresh Turmeric Adds color, earthiness, and powerful anti-inflammatory properties.Digestive Tea Turmeric & Black Pepper or Meadowsweet Targets inflammation and soothes the gut effectively.Condiment or Sauce Fresh Horseradish Provides a sharp, clean heat that stands up well.My Video: The normal Ginger is toxic! https://youtu.be/nQv9632L7w8My Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast5/The-normal-Ginger-is-toxic.mp3

Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: S: What's the deal with smoothies? Why are they recommended so much? Not just by Equilife but from a lot of other wellness practitioners. In general I find they don't satiate me for long and could end up causing me to overeat in the long run. But more than that, I developed a different issue. I found Equilife, as it seems many have, when experiencing gut issues (probably post infectious IBS) and looking for answers. My issues kept coming and going. Then I started to realize it was aggravated during detoxes. (This all evolved over a year and a half.) I finally discussed with AI. In a nutshell, AI suggested I eat warm foods only, cooked veggies. Eat foods in a particular order. This wasn't high risk so I tried this advice. It helped so much. So now I wonder, is it really best to recommend smoothies for everyone? Especially when the detox with shakes or smoothies are recommended as a starting point before other protocols? Seems like if smoothies were to be recommended, it might be better post gut healing? (I now remember a Chinese medicine practitioner telling me years ago that warm food is better for a sensitive gut. I had forgotten that temporarily.) Btw - it's all cold or raw food that can be too much for me right now. Not just shakes or smoothies but I also tested these things alone, outside of the detox. I just see smoothies recommended as nutrition for all kinds of reasons and to people with all kinds of gut issues and don't really hear anyone discuss when it is not good for some of us. Now I just need to figure out how long to heal before I can add back cold food and raw veggies at times. I miss my carrot sticks but glad my gut is happier. So why are smoothies such a thing in the wellness community? Katie: Thank you for everything you have done and taught me. I had a Prenuvo scan done (thank you for the code) and found that I have a small pineal gland cyst, multiple kidney cysts, a syrinx in my spinal cord and a cyst on my cervix. I lived a very unhealthy first 33 years, but have been living clean the last 3. Big 5 showed bacterial overgrowth, mold, candida, heavy metals, mitochondrial dysfunction, high manganese, high bedtime cortisol, and low T3. Hormones and omegas were optimal. What is the root cause of cyst formation? Besides going through protocols and proteolytic enzymes is there anything else I should do? Of course, not looking for diagnosis or treatment plan. Liz: Hi Dr. Cabral, I am a 36 year old female with no history of health problems before the last 2 years. On June 26, 2024 I underwent an XILF lumbar fusion surgery to fuse my L4/L5 because of chronic back pain. I soon found that this was the biggest mistake of my life. I haven't been the same since. I have been experiencing unrelenting, chronic nausea and abdominal discomfort on a daily basis. I also experience brain fog and chronic fatigue. As such, my performance at work has significantly decreased, my mood has been at an all time low, some days I can't even get out of bed. I wish I never had the surgery, had I known my quality of life would have plummeted so drastically. I've gone to countless specialists (a gastroenterologist, endocrinologist, rheumatologist, an ENT, neurologist, OBGYN, Accupuncture, even tried Reiki, and every test result shows unremarkable/normal results. I recently went to pain management and they gave me an epidural after seeing significant scar tissue around the surgical site. I am not experiencing any relief. In fact, I think I feel worse. I am getting married in May and want to start a family but have not been able to get myself right since my surgery. I'm scared I'll never be able to find relief. I don't know where else to turn or what else to do. I just want to get back to normal again and enjoy my life. If there's anything you can think of that I can try, I'll do it. I'm at my wits end. Please help me. Rebecka: Hi Dr. Cabral. I have recently been diagnosed with Anemia. I have not been told the specific type of Anemia. I feel terrible 24/7. My symptoms include fatigue, weakness, dizziness, chest pain and shortness of breath. I feel this is an off and on chronic problem as I have realized I've been having these symptoms for years. My RBC are low, my retic is low and low lymphocytes. Mcv and mch values were high on my CBC. Vitamin b12 and folate normal and my TSH was what I considered low normal. I also experienced a hot flash after lunch every day. I am very petite at 5ft 1 and 95-100lbs and I am 43 years old. What tests should I be doing to figure out the root cause of my anemia? I know hormones and stress can play a role as well. I live a very stressful lifestyle working full time with 2 young daughters. On top of all this, I had an ultrasound of my abdomen in December. It showed biliary sludge and a 2cm hemangioma on my liver. Are there and herbs to dissolve the sludge before it causes any more pain or complications? I would just like to feel "good" again and live a somewhat normal life. Please help me. Renee: Hi Dr Cabral, Firstly thank you for your dedication to helping people globally find answers to their health challenges. I am an IHP lv 2 and would greatly appreciate any advice on a client with CIDP (MADSAM syndrome) — Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy. A 62 yr old male, fit, dealing with symptoms for 2 yrs, legs are weak and seem to be getting weaker, continues to experience widespread fasciculations (nerve twitching), which are now also affects his hands. His neurologist has recommenced treatment with IVIG (Intravenous immunoglobulin) to address what body is doing to the nerves. I will be having him on the DESTRESS protocol and highly recommending the Big 5 to get to the root cause. Your thoughts on using IVIG along with removing toxicities and replacing deficiencies would be extremely appreciated as I am very keen to help him reverse this and get his life back. Can goal attainment really be effortless? Yes! How? I'm sharing a science backed and real life proven strategy to, yes, attain your goals effortlessly with environment modification. Last week I told you to write everything down. Now what? Your Brain On Paper If you were a good lil student, you have started to write down all of your interruptive thoughts. Stop trying to remember everything, just write it down! Now you have all of these thoughts on paper, your brain on paper and you may be overwhelmed. The next step, is to decide can it wait till Sunday? If so, pop that baby into the Sunday Basket® for safe keeping until it can't wait. If not, add it to your to do list for the day. If you find you are always saying yes it can wait, but you don't have a lot of motivation to get it accomplished, it's ok to toss it. Our goals, energy, money, where we live, stage of family life, our house, and other factors change projects we want to do. You aren't going to get it all done because you aren't getting it all done now. Let yourself off the hook for projects you are not longer interested in finishing. Evolution of Systems Our families are ever changing and I was reminded of this during my grand-turnity. Abby had her baby and I am home more helping to take care of her and my grandsons. I don't cook. But I do make Thanksgiving dinner. I thought it would be nice to make until Greg pointed out that had I just asked Greg to do it, he would have. I abdicated cooking many years ago. Greg is used to cooking and didn't appreciate me taking up space in the fridge while the turkey defrosted. You see, back in the day saving money was the goal. My cooking and grocery shopping "reality" is from those days but our family has changed. I picked up a couple of turkeys while they were cheap around Thanksgiving knowing I'd be home after Abby had the baby. But I don't grocery shop or cook anymore. I could have saved a lot of my time and money had I just let Greg do it if I had just thought about today's reality of my family dynamics and roles. Ok the next thing to consider is your environment. First, do you still need the blender on the counter? You know it's not about the actual blender, it's just an appliance or thing you may have on the counter that you are no longer using. Smoothies may have been an everyday thing that is no longer. I moved ours to the basement, sometimes I forget, I should just pop a lil note inside the cupboard to remind me. I mean, no one is looking in my cupboards. Is your environment supporting your current goals? Could you modify your environment to better support your goals? Decluttering and Organizing Surfaces Thoughts I realized when I wanted to start adding collagen to my coffee that my environment was not set up to support my goals. I had about 9 steps to make my coffee, I'd get to my car and realize I had forgotten the collagen. If you are trying to lose weight, remove the cookies and put fruit in that same place. You can't eat what is not in your house. And you can't rely solely on willpower. AND it signals cues to your brain about your new goals. Science shows that when your environment is modified you can attain your goals effortlessly. As you realize what you want to modify you will need to declutter and organize that space. The Productive Home Solution may bring light to spaces you want to modify and it will walk you through the decluttering and functionality of that space. There is a caveat here. You will have more success if you have the foundation of the Sunday Basket® established because you will already be in the habit of writing down interruptive thoughts. I went through the thought process of setting up a coffee station. In moving things around, it brought to light the cup/bottle situation for my grandsons. I wrote things down and will take action on a Sunday. The time you spend modifying your spaces to match your goals will give back time to your future self. Then the systems you put in place will simply need to be maintained. The synergy between The Sunday Basket and The Productive Home Solution will have you saving time, cognitively offloading, gaining support for your goals and making better choices too! The crew is live again and fully unfiltered — which means shop updates, gay news, emotional gym crushes, and at least one brand-new segment that immediately goes off the rails. Between karaoke confessions, Catherine O'Hara panic, and a very serious debate about who gets saved in a drowning scenario, this episode covers a truly alarming amount of ground. This Week's Insanity:February at Revenge Of: Howdy Partner returns, Galentine's Day with Babs Tarr & Tini Howard gets locked in, and a mysterious Radiant Black anniversary party looms.Gay News: Chappell Roan discourse, gym flirtation with a powerful 55-year-old woman, and Jeff discovering he may be attracted to danger — again. What We're Watching: The Night Manager reignites sexual-tension discourse, Wonder Man sparks facial-recognition drama, and Marvel pacing gets put on trial.New Segment Alert — “What's In Your Mouth?” Smoothies, Sugarfish, homemade soda bread, and horniness collide in the most on-brand way possible.Coral's Corner: Morality tests involving dogs, rafts, and strangers, plus childhood swim lore that explains… a lot.Life, Aging & Noise: Karaoke hangovers, Nickelback choices, and the slow realization that chewing sounds and laughing children might be the real villains.Loose, live, and delightfully unhinged, this episode is proof that structure is optional — but opinions are mandatory.New episodes every week.Only at Revenge Of — where the segments are experimental and the vibes are deeply unpredictable.

Erin is dehydrated after her visit to Austin, Bryan befriends his Erewhon-going seatmates on a flight to New York, plus some balm/SPF talk and a celebration of the results from last week’s elections. Erin discusses the NYT Opinion interview with three feminist conservative bootlickers titled “Did Liberal Feminism Ruin the Workplace”. Bryan brings us some cautious optimism with Kim Davis’ defeat with the Supreme Court declining to take up her case against Obergefell v. Hodges and the right to same-sex marriage, but how it doesn’t necessarily set a precedent and could still be brought up again in the future.
