If 2020 has shown us anything, its that everything can go from bad to worse and we can wind up spending months in our homes quarantining and flipping from streaming service to streaming service. It was in this quarantining time that I began to toy with th

This week my good ol' pal Ben asked if he could come on to talk about Twilight. He gives us his take on Twilight, the infamous love triangle, and explains how Hunger Games and Twilight are practically the same thing. Today's episode is good for laugh, and I hope it makes your Tuesday just a little bit better.
After her three month mat-leave, Martha is back with us on the podcast! And today we're talking about friendship(s)- how they looks different as we grow older and priorities change but the fundamentals of fostering relationships stay the same no matter what age we are. You, also, won't want to miss us chatting about one of our favorite shows "Starstruck", how we're always down to watch a good 'ole "Twilight" movie, and how we all need to be thinking about our pelvic floor muscles more. Yes, we will direct you to some great Instagram resources focused on that last point in our stories. Get your covid vaccine, show up for a friend today, and enjoy the episode!!!
Hi babe, it's just you and me today and i've got some thoughts. Today i share some more google-able thoughts. I open up about my thoughts when it comes to peeing anywhere that isn't my home. The main topic today is the ever illusive idea of "cool"? I don't know about you but I'm fed up and tired of worrying about whether or not people think I'm "cool" or if "cool" people like me. I also talk about loving yourself, because I genuinely, GENUINELY will never tire of telling each of you how truly precious and loved you are. Listen on, and listen in besties, you're amazing.
This weeks episode Becky is joined by Tash everyones soon to be favourite fast talking, confident, aussie. We talk about that feeling of moving from one stage of life into another. Whether its shifting from university to career, your 20's to your 30's, or your parents house to your own, life is full of changes. Some of them are fun, while others feel rushed and forced. I am coming to terms with ending my 20's and finally, really and truly graduating and beginning a career. It's nerve wracking!
I met Kennedy when we were both the sassy over confident student in our university program. She's always been so much fun to talk to because she's never scared to share her opinion. This week we talk about all things dating app's and men in our 20's. We share some of our own unfortunate dating stories, and Kennedy tells us about her very cute boyfriend she found on tinder, hello modern day miracle. We have a couple different tangents that we get lost on but I hope you enjoy!
Here is the second episode of my chat with my Dad (my best friend). We talk about his life, his experience raising the 5 of us brats with my amazing mom and I maybe cry just a little when he tells me about a promise he made to himself when he was 19. Nansen also answers some of your questions that you submitted! Some quick things we're loving this week, Dad and I are both loving that things are starting to ease with covid and restrictions. I am also loving outdoor backyard movies with friends, the movie Cruella, and croptop / sports bra combo's from Aerie. Seriously aerie just send me free things already, I'm obsessed with you!
In today's episode I sit down with my dad and we giggle. If you've seen my Instagram you know how funny and wonderful Nansen is and it was high time he have his own episode. I hope you enjoy getting to know him a little bit better during this weeks first part of his interview.
Hi friends! This week it's just you and me. You're probably tired of hearing me say it, but once again thank you for listening! As I try to handle life, school, work, and the podcast you just keep coming back to listen and it means the world to me. So thank you, i love you. If times were different and we didn't run the risk of contracting a deadly disease I would 100% kiss all of you for listening. Oh well, theres always next year. So in this weeks episode you are going to get a little taste of a lot of different things. I share with you a "toxic" trait that i have. We also do some googling, ok I do some googling and I tell you what I find. These solo episodes that you get with me wont always make the most sense, they'll be just an audio track of whatever is in my mind that day. As I finesses my stream of consciousness I am sure (hopeful) they'll improve but for now I am just grateful you're here and enjoy the ride. Likes this week, Lovesick on Netflix. Watch it if you like hopeless romantic male leads, shows that follow friends in their 20-30's who live togther, and miscommunications complicating love. Pride month. I love that this whole month the people who I know and love who are LGBTQ+ get to celebrate themselves and their love stories. Village Ice Cream, unfortunately this little ice cream shop of perfection is only located in Calgary. If you're in or around the cowtown area you must go and you must get guides mint. Its perfection.
If you've talked to Becky at all in the last year and a half, she's probbaly told you how much she loves Samm and her exercise programs. In today's episode Becky chats with Samm about fitness, quarter life crises, traveling, and the ever important question HOW do you build a butt? I hope you enjoy this episode and remember that there is absolutely NO timeline that you need to be on and that you have got so much life ahead of you. So make the life change, move across the country, find a hobby you love, or just decide to love yourself. It is never too late to do one or all of those things, and we'll be cheering you along the whole way!
Have you ever shot your shot and told a hottie you liked them? If you have, welcome to the club! If you haven't todays episode will give you a front row seat to that experience and the emotions that follow. In this weeks episode Becky sits down with her roommate and best friend Jana and they talk about all the times they've shot their shot. Whats the past tense of shoot your shot, shit your shot? Listen along and find out!
Sometimes the world just doesnt want you to have nice things and that was very much the case with this weeks episode. After recording the audio was ALL over the place and I told myself you guys love us enough to deal with it BUT I love you guys too much to make you have to. In the end, thanks to a very helpful youtube tutorial, and reinstalling garageband the episode is up! The audio is cleaner and the giggles are locked and loaded. I hope you enjoy this episode and I hope you love Holly as much as we do! LIsten along as she talks about favourite foods, things she wishes she'd known sooner, the perks of living in the USA (trader joes, target, and peach fresca just to name a few), and why she loves therapy.
Hey! Hey! Hey! Life has been a lot and all at once for Becky and Martha. We so enjoy doing this podcast, it's a fun creative outlet, and a way for us to not so subtly force our thoughts in to all of your ears. We really appreciate the love and support you guys show us by listening each week. Since we're humans though we need breaks. Becky is glad to be back this week with a short and sweet episode for ya! Martha is very happy that at long last they got to welcome a beautiful baby boy into their family, and is getting some well deserved rest. In this weeks episode Becky talks about things she wishes people would stop being weird about. The world would be a better place if we stopped being weird about our friends when they get married, so what if you're married we can still hang out! Everyone woud be happier if we stopped being weird about weight loss being the indicator of health! We hope you'll listen and enjoy this episode.
We're so excited to share our first guest with you, it's the one and only Evelyn Thompson-Smith! Evelyn is Becky's mom, and Martha's mother in law, and she has lived...a couple of lives. Today we ask her about her educational pursuits, her WHIRLWIND romance with Papa Smith and how they've been married for 35 years. We also touch on what drives her, and how she stays invigorated and excited to work and be busy. Here's what we've been liking this week: -The Chief Inspector Armand Gamache book series. The series is written by Louise Penny and if you're a fan of whodunnit books, check this series out! They're set in Montreal, Quebec. -The jovi patch! Becky isn't done talking about this magical pain relieving patch so hopefully you're willing to keep hearing her sing it's praises. -For those of you who listen to us in warmer climates, this might not be a big deal for you but it's getting hot and sunny in Alberta. Becky even got to lay in the sun in her latest and favourit-est bikini from aerie. -Check out @thundervoice_eagle on instagram. They're doing an incredible job at reimagining famous artwork with indigenous elements and people. Its beautiful. https://www.instagram.com/thundervoice_eagle/?hl=en -We love our families, and we love that family shows up for each other. -Last but never least, we LOVE! and we LIKE! Universal health care!! Martha is very much about to pop and we're all thrilled that because she's in Canada this baby will come with 0 hospital expenses. Honestly everyone, move to Canada and have your babies.

Join us for the soothing hum of Becky and Martha's voices sending you serious encouragement and thought provoking insight on how comparison culture just doesn't serve us. And if you ever need the reassurance, remember that here on this podcast, WE LIKE YOU exactly the way you are! Speaking of 'like'... Hey! Here the things we like this week: -"Into the Grand Canyon" [National Geographic] on Disney+ -Frozen Croissants sold at Costco -Badminton -Friends that will buy badminton sets with you and play
Heyyyo friends! Welcome back to another episode of the podcast. Today we're tackling the "fun traits" we all live with and sometimes wrestle with. If this episode has taught the two of us anything, it's that we're all way more alike than we are different. Some of you shared your "fun traits" with Becky back in November. While we went through them this week in recording we noticed that the two of us do most if not all of the things you do too. Why are we so ashamed of these behaviours then? We're all doing them, we're all so normal we're practically boring. We hope that whike you listen today you come away knowing you can love all the parts of you, even the bits you're ashamed of. Our likes this week: - Derry Girls. Check it out on netflix if you want a little escapism, and to laugh so hard you nearly pee *no judgement if you actually do pee* and heads up, it's sweary - Taking your bra off when you no longer need to look or feel professional and grown up. Ladies, is there any better feeling? - Wrapping yourself up like a burrito, and then becoming the ultimate level of cozy on the couch. - @paigearminta https://www.instagram.com/paigearminta/?hl=en she's cute, she's real, she's honest, and she's all about sharing beyond the highlight reel just like us. - @emmanuelacho https://www.instagram.com/emmanuelacho/?hl=en if you're looking to have difficult conversations with people, let him be your guide. He's created a series "uncomfortable conversations with a black man", if you haven't already seen them, check them out. - @mandybirthnurse https://www.instagram.com/mandybirthnurse/?hl=en Mandy is a labour and delivery nurse and she is FULL of wisdom for anyone and everyone who is pregnant, wants to become pregnant, or knows someone who is pregnant. - @officialheavymetalbaby https://www.instagram.com/officialheavymetalbaby/?hl=en the name says it all, check out their insta account for a chuckle. - @frankiemannella https://www.instagram.com/frankiemannella/?hl=en The official Dadosaur account. Check it out for giggles and maybe some second hand social anxiety depending on how you feel watching other peoples behaviour in public. We love you guys. Thank you so much for listening.
Let's play a quick game of 'this or that'! What kind of peanut butter do you prefer - crunchy or creamy? Mild or spicy food? Coke or meth? We mean - PEPSI!! Coke or Pepsi?! On this week's episode you won't want to miss listening to Becky and Martha answering these hard hitting questions. If you're like us - still in Covid lockdown - you need to get as many laughs in as you can. So listen in and laugh along! And hey! In this weeks episode we talk about America's favourite past time. Kissing. Between the two of us we've got some great kissing experiences and some others that were less than ideal. So tune in and listen to us reminisce from a time when Martha was single, and Becky could still touch people. Thanks a lot covid. We also break down some of our favourite on screen kisses from film and TV. Did we get all the good ones? Let us know! Beyond kissing, we also love and like Crave TV, it a streaming platform for us Canadians, which happens to house the 4hr Justice League movie. Martha wants you to know that 4 hours goes fast at this point in Covid. We also love and like, aerie bating suits, Becky bought a new bikini and it's her 19th(?) and her favourite one yet. Martha is loving and liking the early spring (cross you fingers is sticks) and the lovely Tabitha Brown https://www.instagram.com/iamtabithabrown/?hl=en check her out on instagram, she is a goddess.
This weeks episode is another listener request and what has now been coined as Becky's 'Journey to the Bikini'. If you haven't already seen on instagram, you can regularly find her holding dance sessions in her room donning some of her favorite swimsuits from her large collection. Here on this episode of the podcast, we talk about how confidence is not always a linear process. We discuss how we have to build up tools and strategies to boost ourselves up in difficult times and how we all struggle to love our bodies for a number of reason. If you get nothing else from this episode, remember that YOU ARE THE STAR OF YOUR LIFE! This is not a dress rehearsal and you should shine as bright as you can without the concern of what others will think. And HEY! In this week's episode we dive into one of our "Hey! I like you!" topics. You know, the ones that don't quite fit categories of 'bodies and self love', or 'relationships' . Its the perfect third category to hold all of the things that make us happy, and we're thrilled to be sharing with you why we love BREAD
We're not psychologists or relationship gurus. But we did take some quizzes about love and talk about them this week! Take a listen as we discuss our results from the '5 Love Languages' quizzes (https://www.5lovelanguages.com/quizzes/singles-quiz/ & https://www.5lovelanguages.com/quizzes/couples-quiz/) and 'Attachment Style' quizzes from two different sources (https://www.attachmentproject.com/attachment-style-quiz/ & https://dianepooleheller.com/attachment-test/). Though there isn't much empirical evidence proving the validity of these tests, they are a great practice in self-introspection. And they're just plain fun to talk about! So how do you feel loved?? Hi guys, today we talk about reasons why, and how we love ourselves. Listen along as we talk about what we love in ourselves, our lives, and how we show love to ourselves. Creating this episode was really helpful for both us, we've been in the covid mind fog, and thinking on these 3 topics allowed us to really focus in on the positives in our lives. Head over to our instagram page (@heyilikeyou_podcast) and tell us what you love about yourself and your life, and how you show yourself love. Some additional things we're loving this week, reality TV. Always. A few of our favourites are Jersey Shore, Geordie Shore, and Real Housewives of SLC. We're also so happy that Disney+ has expanded, allowing us to finally watch shows like Black-ish and fall in love with Tracee Ellis Ross. Speaking of incredible women to emulate, @aubryeliz is an account Becky has been following for a while, and she thinks you should too. Lastly one of the ways we've both come to show love for our bodies is through movement, and we both love and like @sammhaden check out her saved IGTV's to get a taste for her workouts.
Are you obsessed with Costco? Apparently we are! Listen in this week to hear us profess our love for bulk queso and discuss our thoughts on politics. A super helpful tool in framing our discussion for this episode was isidewith.com and we highly recommend going to the site to see which political parties you most align with. Leave a comment on our Instagram account @heyilikeyou_podcast telling us if you were surprised by the results! We're covering a lot of ground this week starting on the topic of DATING. We talk romantic relationships, getting to know people during Covid lockdowns, unmet expectations, choosing contentment where you are at, and find our way to accepting the ups and downs of life. If you're feeling like you want to get a sense of what Becky was talking about when she spoke about Daniel Sloss' stand up routine (*CAUTION ITS GOT LOTS OF PROFANITY AND CRUDE JOKES. i'm not kidding. NOT intended for family listening) she tried to nail down a little window of the show, the 51:38 minute mark to 52:47. Its literally a minute, but its good AND profanity free. *For a number of potential reasons, there were quite a few issues with the audio of this episode and you may notice some weird overlapping during portions of the conversation. We're so grateful for your patience and we promise it'll only get better from here!* And HEY! On this week's episode we skim the surface of a topic deeply woven into society- how people (specifically women) should and shouldn't dress and the implications of those standards. For many, the term 'modesty' has been taught to them in a way that damages their confidence and has made them feel as if women are responsible for the thoughts and actions of men. Listen along as we discuss some of our experiences, the way we were raised to understand modesty, and how we view it now. For additional perspectives, check out the QNoor podcast on modesty here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/modesty/id1433937978?i=1000446647394 and checkout @drjuliehanks on Instagram. AND HEY! *Disclaimer* Sexual harassment is discussed at 48:30 - 55:00 I have a special guest and surprise for our listeners on this episode! Tune in and get to know my familiar friend a little more as we talk about family, our personalities, mental health, and values- as well as the direction of this podcast in the future. We hope you enjoy our conversation as much as we did and forgive us for getting so caught up that we forgot to mention what ‘we like' this week. So if you're needing a little pick me up, watch this video that we reference at the beginning of the episode: https://youtu.be/KNUKou8vnJQ And maybe like me, bask in the glory that is being able to wear sweats all day and skip the bra because I never leave my house #apositive side to covid.
Therapy is something I love, and I'll shout it from the rooftops, but it wasn't always that way. Last week while I was trying to fall asleep I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed to talk about how I've used therapy, and come to love it. I've worked with 4 different therapists throughout the years, and I break down each one of them. If you're considering booking a therapy appointment consider this your sign and DO IT.
The second part of my discussion with The Peoples Princess (Martha). The results are in, you love her as much as I do. Listen along while we keep talking about our Bodies, why and how they change and why we love them.
In my first full length episode I sit down with The People's Princess, my sister in law. We talk about our own individual experiences that got us to be the body loving, self care advocating, confident babes you hear from today.
If 2020 has shown us anything it's that everything good can end and we can wind up miserable for months. So I want to remember the good, the things I like, and the reasons I smile. In this preview I tell you a little bit about me and the things I'm excited to share with you in my new Podcast. I want to make this a little happy corner on the internet, and I hope you'll join me.
