    Mauricio Pochettino got his first competitive win as Chelsea boss, thanks to a 3-0 win over Luton Town. Tommy was pleased with what he saw, and chats through the remaining business which needs doing before the window shuts. Sam was delighted with Spurs win at Bournemouth, with a 7/9 start being a very positive opening to Ange Postecoglou's first Premier League campaign.  Newcastle v Liverpool had many talking points, we debate the refereeing calls made, and also Mike Dean's comments from last week about VAR. Tommy hosts Forgotten Footballer, and we get a bit stuck on the Crossover Grid... Thanks for listening!

    Promising Performances

    The Premier League got back under way this weekend, with Mauricio Pochettino & Ange Postecoglou in new surroundings. Tommy was at Burnley v Man City on Friday, and then Chelsea v Liverpool on Sunday. He takes us through what he saw in both matches, and how proud he was to see Josh Cullen captain the clarets in the season opener. We discuss the addition of Moises Caicedo to this Chelsea team, and the fees Todd Boehly has been paying out since he arrived.  Sam was pleased with what he saw from his newly styled Spurs, including a standout performance from Yves Bissouma. Alex is very happy with Ipswich's start to life back in the Championship, but he's not getting carried away…yet. Sam finishes the episode by hosting the new season of Forgotten Footballer, but it's safe to say Tommy & Alex haven't trained hard enough in pre season! Thanks for listening!

    Simply the best

    After what felt like the longest season ever, we've finally reached the end, and what a season it was for Manchester City.  Premier League, FA Cup & Champions League winners, with the Citizens getting their hands on the trophy they coveted most with a 1-0 win over Inter Milan. We debate whether this really is the best English team we've seen. West Ham also tasted European Glory last week, beating Fiorentina 2-1 in the Conference League final. We discuss how big an achievement it was for The Hammers, and how tournaments should be taken more seriously. Tottenham appointed former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, but how does Sam feel about the appointment?  We have a 2nd place shootout on Forgotten Footballer, and Tommy also brings a new game to the table. Thank you for listening throughout the season, see you next time!

Tommy cant hide his pain at where his Chelsea side are, and goes through what needs changing, and how he feels about the clubs current form. Does Potter need sacking? And who would be a viable replacement if he was to go?     One Season Wonder...

    Episode 74 - Mayhem in Marseille After a tense final round of Champions League games for Spurs, they managed to get the result they needed in Marseille to book their place in the last 16, but Sam is concerned by his side's performances in recent weeks. Only two months after leaving Brighton, Graham Potter took his Chelsea team back to the AMEX, but a 4-1 defeat was definitely not the return he was looking for. Tommy goes through some tactical gripes he has with the Blues. With Liverpool dropping more points last weekend we discuss whether they can still get a top 4 finish, and we also debate whether Newcastle are genuine contenders. In League 1, Ipswich grabbed a 4-2 lead in stoppage time…but couldn't hold on as Charlton snatched a 4-4 draw in dramatic circumstances!     This week we do a transfer window round-up, including our thoughts on the best & worst business done in January.  Dele Alli has flown the Tottenham nest, and Sam thinks he will find a way onto the plane for England's Qatar 2022 World Cup squad. This raised a big debate at HQ so we all came up with our projected 25 man squads, which of course threw up some disagreements! There's a brief League 1 update, and Alex hosts this week's Forgotten Footballer.

    The international break came at the wrong time for Tottenham as they fell to their first defeat of the season, whilst Romelu Lukaku continued his fine start to his 2nd spell at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea. Ronaldo didn't disappoint on his Old Trafford return, Arsenal scraped their first win of the campaign, and a second half blitz against Burnley saw Everton hit joint-top. All of the main talking points from the weekend are discussed, as well as the usual League 1 round-up which involves a very concerned Alex! Tommy hosts forgotten footballer - with a slight UAE WIFI glitch not causing too much trouble!
