After perhaps the best performance of the season against Newcastle and perhaps the worst performance of the season against Real Madrid, David Mooney is joined by City fan Ciaran Murray and, from BBC Radio Manchester, Mike Minay to assess the week. They discuss the Jekyll-and-Hyde style displays of the season so far (as they continue to search for pop culture metaphors), while they look at the impact of the new signings so far, and what could come between now and May. With Liverpool and Spurs on the cards for this week, they discuss what the state of play is given how both teams have their own little issues at the moment too... and whether City have it in the tank to exploit those or if Pep Guardiola's side are just too unpredictable. Former City midfielder Danny Tiatto speaks to the show about his time at Maine Road - taking in back-to-back promotions, playing under Joe Royle and Kevin Keegan, and red cards aplenty. Plus there's the best City consolation goals and the best 'Typical City' moments. ========== To get more podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon. And... breathe. On Saturday, Fulham treated us to a rip-roaring game at Anfield as we took on the league leaders. George, Farrell, Jack K, and Jack S are here to look back on the game that had it all - and ask how we're meant to feel about it. With Liverpool down to ten for most of the game, did we capitalise enough on our man advantage? Should we be increasingly concerned about how many goals we're conceding at the start of second halves? We've dropped seventeen points from winning positions this season - is this a worrying trend? Or... is this a positive point in a tough place to go, that sees us on the edge of the European places? Then it's time for a bunch of your questions. We applaud the Player of the Match performance from Antonee Robinson, and ask whether there is anyone better than him right now, and there are plaudits for our whole back line. After back to back defeats against Aston Villa and Manchester United in the Premier League and FA Cup, this tough week of fixtures doesn't get any easier as we welcome to the City Ground League Cup winners Liverpool. But with a 1-0 victory over Klopp's side last season, can Forest pull off another shock and take points off top of the table Liverpool. With a potential point deduction still on the horizon for Forest, points are becoming like gold dust, and if Forest are able to take anything from this match it would be such a confident booster. On the injury front, Sangare and Aina looks set to return from injury and should be available for this fixture, but would you put them straight into the starting lineup? With Liverpool winning the League Cup last weekend with the so called "Klopp's Kids", we can expect a number of injured players to be unavailable for this fixtures, but with the potential returns of the likes of Salah, Nunez and Endo, Liverpool's team is hard to predict. But with them currently top of the league, they cant afford any slip ups in their title charge, so expect Klopp to play his best available 11. In this match preview we will discuss potential line-ups for both teams. We will be talking about the system we expect to see from Nottingham Forest. With Liverpool making the trip to Manchester to face Pep Guardiola's first place squad, the books see this one as a one sided affair in favor of the team in blue. Does Liverpool have more of a chance at grabbing all 3 points than the books are giving them credit for? In Italy, Juventus host Inter Milan as they hope to make a statement of their own as legitimate title threats to Inzaghi's side. Can Lautaro continue to push Inter closer to the Scudetto or will Juve's stout defense stymie Inter's attack and give Juve a chance at the upset. With Liverpool securing a second straight 10 man victory this weekend, the guys kickoff the pod recapping the chaos in Newcastle that cost Coach Steve a shot at a 3-0 weekend. With several marquee matchups in Premier League and Serie A this weekend, focus shifts to who might be in for a make or break matchup already this season. The guys wrap up the first half of the pod with their picks for this weekend as they look to rebound after their first losing week of season. Next, the guys take a deep dive into Coach Steve's club: AS Roma. They are joined by very special guest Wayne Girard (@WayneInRome ) as they reflect on how the past season went for the club, which players were standouts and whether Mourinho's on the pitch performance is worth the additional antics that come with the manager. The summer Mercato is up next with all the headlines this week focused on newcomer Romelu Lukaku joining the club for the upcoming season on loan from Chelsea. Coach Steve and Wayne give their opinions on Lukaku's expectations as well as which of the other many newcomers to the club are likely to make a significant impact. Finally, the guys wrap up with a game of Buy or Sell looking at what to expect from Roma in the season ahead!
